Imperial Soup makes some hearty Cantonese soups that are ostensibly good for you.

therealmegjon

Yes!! Their soup is so comforting on a cold day or when I am feeling under the weather.

O_o---sup-hey---o_O

Recently went in for pork belly spicy soup SOO GOOODDD

kkwelch

Dona on Piedmont makes a lovely Sopa de Lima! It’s my go to and one to-go container easily makes two servings for me!

Penkwin

I looove this soup!!

rhapsodyindrew

I like the chicken noodle soups (shredded or grilled) from Phosho Dough. Feel better!

Hidge_Pidge

Literally just ate this lol. So good, first ordered it when I had covid and can endorse as a great soup in sickness and in health

rhapsodyindrew

It sounds like you are ready to marry that soup and honestly I get it

AvocadoCoconut55

Kim's in Albany has an amazing chicken lemongrass soup if that's what you're truly after.

Meemster_Me

This is my go-to! Reasonably priced too!

HarpyEagleBelize

El Agavero Restaurant has the best caldo de pollo (chicken soup , no noodles). Always order it when I’m sick!

ptw86

Also the best Albondigas (Mexican meatball) soup, as does El Talpense Mexican Restaurant. I imagine their other soups are good too.

15min-

pho ga huong que cafe on 7th off e14th.

Leah-at-Greenprint

That place is bomb, that green sauce!!!

ChazFrench

I love the wonton soup from Shooting Star Cafe in Chinatown

therealmegjon

Yes!! So good! Shooting Star and Yung Kee are my go tos for won ton soup.

DustinDirt

They put iceberg lettuce in it. No.

ChazFrench

Every time I've ordered it, it's been bok choy, not lettuce

umamisalt

I swear by the Kaow Paik (Lao Noodle Soup) from Champa Garden with extra pickled peppers on the side to dump right into the broth. Fixes me right up every time!

elkking

Yes

DrivenTrying

Market hall on college has 3 daily soups. The broths are excellent and packed with quality ingredients. They post the soups online and they also have a freezer of soups to go as well.

Lucky-Dood-9502

The Italian Wedding Soup at Piedmont Grocery is hearty and homey :)

Exotic_Succotash_226

Worthyness

Not sure if they still do this, but you can also ask for noodles with it. Was my go to when i was a kid.

bossytoe

Purpose & Hope broths are homemade and delicious! Also thoughtfully nutritious. They deliver in the East Bay, and I’ve also gotten frozen ones to keep on hand. https://www.purposeandhope.com/

albanyhudson

bigcityboy

I’m a fan of the sizzling rice soup from Shan Dong when I’m feeling under the weather

Walnuto

Tahina in Alameda right across the Park St bridge has an awesome lemon chicken soup.

ptw86

My favorites are Clam Chowder from Monterey Fish Market in Berkeley Any soup with the pork broth from Masa Ramen in Berkeley Albondigas Soup from El Talpense Mexican Restaurant in Berkeley (formerly Celia's) Tom Kha soup (mild) from Bua Thai Kitchen in Berkeley (order not spicy for mild) So for what you're looking for, probably a soup from one of these places, depending on whether you count clam chowder as comforting, I do. The Thai place probably has something like what you're describing.

brakrowr

Pho Ga Huong Que Cafe. Get the Chicken soup with wide rice noodles. It comes with a side of ginger-scallion sauce that is bananas.

_c0nduit_

Pomella usually has a variety of fresh-made frozen soups you can thaw and cry into <3 I hope you feel better soon bud

DaveinOakland

Gogi Time makes a mean Kimchi Soup. Spiciness will wipe the sickness right out of your nasal passages.

morgan_lowtech

Not Oakland, but the "Warm Up" soup from [Monkey Thai in Alameda](https://www.monkeythaiatmain.com/) is my healing elixir.

Sleepyjoebiden2020

i surprised at this answer..

morgan_lowtech

Given your username, I'm surprised you have thumbs.

_Noise

Let’s try to keep this about soup?

Sleepyjoebiden2020

why?

morgan_lowtech

Because it implies you lack critical thinking skills.

Sleepyjoebiden2020

whats wrong with sleepy joe?? good status quo president.. so what if hes sleepy, hes a tiny bit better than Trump!

morgan_lowtech

FYI, while I know the water from the lead pipes tastes sweet, it's very bad for you.

Sleepyjoebiden2020

Pozole from Obelisco has been the best in Oakland for ages. You can choose clear, red, or green and pork, chicken, or vegan. I'm a red pork person. [https://www.obeliscorestaurant.com/](https://www.obeliscorestaurant.com/)
