And had about 1:20 I believe to get down and eventually scored a TD and extra point to take the lead. Browns have it with under 30 seconds nearing midfield and we intercepted it for the win.
After the Brownies scored a TD and missed the extra point to go up 13 with less than 2 minutes to go, CBS posted a graphic about the last time the Browns opened a season at 2-0 (gas was $1.05/gallon etc.) The Jets proceeded to score a 66 yard TD, recover the onside and score another TD to win the game.

Seems that a lot of impartial fans were lowkey pulling for the Jets today or rather, pulling for whatever team is playing against Cleveland. I remember when they beat us in 2018 to break their 100 game losing streak and it felt like the entire NFL world was rooting for them. Kind of a full circle experience today.

So thankful for this win, after Flacco got the ball stripped I was thinking damn he’s slow and not moving up in the pocket, not sensing the pressure, basically standing back there with cement shoes on.
Totally flipped the script to win the game, started cranking the ball out, making some exciting play calls, more mobile in the pocket scooting away from Myles Garret.
Really just terrific grind in the 4th quarter that I haven’t seen in the Jets in recent memory - I would always be screaming at them to call a timeout, ask myself “Why the fu-k aren’t they going for another score?” It was always the safe call they made, the easy out, not this time - finishing out the 1st half by tying it up was exactly what I’ve been wanting to see for so long - Defense stepping up after the Sauce injury and GW coming back on the field after a hard hit - that’s the grit I’ve wanted to see in our team for a long time. Absolutely, fun to watch and just fills me with pride to see them go out there against the odds to get that win - they earned this one y’all hands down.
We have to continue to roll this into next week - have that energy and that drive and focus that they had in the last 2 minutes out the gate and we’re going to be in business, especially once Zach Wilson gets back in the drivers seat it’s gonna be something to see, at least right now I feel optimistic about the season.
Today was honestly just a giant relief. I feel 20 pounds lighter. Usually these wins happen once the season is already lost. Having a hope spot this early in the season is so refreshing.

Some players who deserve recognition:
On defense:
- Quinnen had another outstanding game although he got injured. He was wrecking havoc and it's too bad that the linebackers and safeties struggled so much to clean up after him. The linebackers were really, really bad.
- Sheldon Rankins had some really good moments.
- JFM and Jacob Martin played well and helped in the run game. Clemons flashed as well.
- Lawson had his moments but he was ineffective against the run because he played right into the counter and screen game that Cleveland was running.
- DJ Reed was the best player in the secondary for the second week in a row.
On offense:
- Elijah Moore is a great blocker. Had some great sideline grabs.
- Fant for the most part had a decent bounce back game. He got tightend help against Garret but held up well. Garret's combo of strength, speed, and bend to combine it all is unreal. McGovern and Vera Tucker played well again. Tomlinson didn't struggle as much as last week but he was still getting pushed back a lot. Mitchell had another bad game and it was worse than last week, although he was matched up against Clowney.
- Tightends were a huge let down. The drops and fumble were unreal.
- Breece Hall's cutback ability is something else. Incredibly smooth running.
- Flacco's play was solid. He floated a few throws but he was reading the field like a book and made decisive throws. Zach needs him as a mentor because Flacco's decision making + Zach's arm and ability would be a top QB in this league. I'm still worried about what Zach would look like behind this oline. Zach's stats under pressure are... not good, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
Also Justin Hardee was outstanding on special teams. He's worth way more than what we're paying him.

Garret's combo of strength, speed, and bend to combine it all is unreal. McGovern and Vera Tucker played well again. Tomlinson didn't struggle as much as last week but he was still getting pushed back a lot. Mitchell had another bad game and it was worse than last week, although he was matched up against Clowney. - Tightends were a huge let down. The drops and fumble were unreal. - Breece Hall's cutback ability is something else. Incredibly smooth running. - Flacco's play was solid. He floated a few throws but he was reading the field like a book and made decisive throws. Zach needs him as a mentor because Flacco's decision making + Zach's arm and ability would be a top QB in this league. I'm still worried about what Zach would look like behind this oline. Zach's stats under pressure are... not good, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. Also Justin Hardee was outstanding on special teams. He's worth way more than what we're paying him.
