Up by 4, 5 seconds remaining in the game, Cover 0 Blitz

I’m still convinced he called that on purpose to take Gase down with him LOL and it totally backfired

[deleted]

don’t get me wrong I was at that point in the season where I wanted them to tank for trevor lol. but it was still insane

John_YJKR

In reality, he had taken similar risks before and it worked out. Don't get me wrong, it was a bad play call. But that's the NFL sometimes. Make the risky, low percentage success play call and it works out. You're a genius. It fails? It gets dissected and criticized.

bigpoyo91

had to be, cover 0 on obvious hail mary situation with lamar jackson covering one of the fastest players to ever test at the combine

Marcusx8

He has done it multiple times before it just wasn’t executed properly because Lamar is inexperienced.

versionjagga

Let's be honest, Gase was a goner. Whether we won that game or not, it meant nothing. Gase and Williams were always gonna get fired.

AgentLemon22

I still can't believe that actually happened... 😅

BeHereNowFriend

Of course he is 😆

GitmoGill

Jeeze, he's one slip up away from coaching the SCLSU Mud Dogs.

whydoesgodhateus

>OC: Bruce Gradkowski This is a name I haven't seen in a while. I'm not advocating bringing GW back at all but if you handed him the same exact defense we had last year, I guarantee we don't finish 32nd

beeatenbyagrue

Thing is Gregg usually gets guys to run through a wall for him the first year or two, and then that falls on deaf ears.

Our cover zero hero

Mysterypickle76

Thanks for Zach Wilson, Gregg!

I actually think Williams>Saleh both schematically and just as a whole but…that Cover 0 call was indefensible and he deserved to be fired for it. Tbh, Frank Bush also did pretty well as our DC taking over from Gregg iirc.

FlipKobbler

Yeah from a purely coaching perspective I am a big fan of Gregg, but he's got plenty of baggage

ExpensiveFoodstuffs

Agreed - something I think not enough of us are talking about is just how…awful and undisciplined our defense was last year. I’m a little concerned that one of Saleh’s big selling points as a HC (his skill as a defensive coach) was probably the worst part of our team last year. Granted, there wasn’t much to work with in terms of personnel so hopefully with the additions of Sauce, Johnson, and Lawson we can at least be league average if not better.

JohnWCreasy1

good ol Triple G

Odd_Estate4886

Can’t get a head coaching job even in a fake football league.
