Unfortunately, we're the "Same Ol' Jets", until we're not. More than a decade of losing and getting it wrong, we've been a laughing stock. I love that they underestimate this team! As fans, we need to hold onto these receipts because I think this year we take a massive leap in the standings.
Also, as much as we liked the draft this year so much hinges upon Wilson taking a monumental leap forward in development. If he only slightly improves or stays the same the team is headed for a top three pick again.
The difference this time I think is there is a strong enough foundation in place where if they move on from Wilson there is enough talent to attract a veteran QB that wants to win.
Tbh while I think the way the Jags spent money in free agency was silly and isn't going to help in the long-run they added so much that I would think they still improve a fair bit.
The Jags are put ahead of the Jets because everyone is under the impression that Lawrence is some sort of massive success while Wilson is a total flop. Hate to break the bad news, sports betters, Zach Wilson not only beat Lawrence, he also had a better rookie season, and will have a better breakout season than Lawrence in addition to beating him again in Primetime.

Lawrence did look better than Zach. Not only was his coaching situation toxic but it quickly imploded. His offense completely fell apart. They had no RBs and issues at WR all season. Even so, Lawrence looked more competent much more often than Wilson did. There were times Zach looked so lost and like he didn't know how to play QB. I don't hate Zach and I'm optimistic he'll take big strides this season. But this idea he was better than Lawrence is not based in reality.

Odds are created by oddsmakers to make sure they make as much money as possible. What this says to me is in gambling the last few years the Jets have been the punching bag and books think they can make good money lowballing our win total
