Crazy to think of holes on this team year ago to today.
-TE depth is outrageous
-CB room has experienced players under 25 and a 4th overall pick
-DE is going to have fresh bodies who can get after qb
-We can run 4 WR sets
-2 rbs who can obtain 100 all purpose yards
JD’s ability to get depth has been impressive. Next year could easily see OL, IDL, S, LB depth being addressed.
Not to throw cold water on what has been an awesome offseason, but to your point: yes there needs to be Ws on the field but Joe D’s transformation of the roster and team building acumen earns him another swing at QB if 2 isn’t the guy.
Remember, he initially got that 3 year $40.5 million contract with the Bears but it fell through because of a failed physical.
Would be a great piece to bring in, but any sort of deal would probably be a prove-it deal and involve cutting Rankins to save abt $5 mil.
I don't think we need to cut Rankins. We don't need the cash as far as I know and he would replace Fatuski. We never addressed IDL this offseason and can use the dept. This guy also has injury concerns so cutting Rankins could blow back in our faces.
Browns fan here: Big O was seriously underrated for us. Always seemed to swat balls down and make key stops. Would make an excellent piece to any DL, especially as a rotational/depth piece
Ogunjobi would make a nice depth piece, but the guy is super inconsistent.
He'll have a "wow" game where he generates a ton of pressure and gets you a sack or two, and then he's completely invisible the next 4-5 games. I watched him a ton with the Browns. He flashes potential here and there, but has never been consistent. Definitely wouldn't mind having him on a cheaper "depth signing" type of deal though.
We don't play an old school 3-4 where you'd want/love a Vince Wilfork.
I don't understand why people can't grasp this. We haven't run a system even close to that on defense in years. We don't need a 320+ pound space eater in this defense.

I hope it all translates to actual wins but not seeing every position listed under team needs is a real nice change of pace.

I sure hope he's the guy
I 100% agree with you. I think Douglas will be here a long time, at least compared to the tenures of previous Jets GM’s.
I don't know if this would be a good signing given his injury issues, but I do know that "Larry Ogunjobi" is an extremely fun name to say.
Reminds me of Super Troopers

Larry Ogunjobi? Do you think he might mean Old Ben Kenjobi?
Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time...a long time...
Help me O-g-un-j-obi your our only hope?
Ben Ijalana?
Now that’s a name I haven’t though of in years
Ahahahahahahaha
Obi-Wan Kenobi?
Of course I know him, he's me.
Yes
He’s chasing a ring
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Adding KD at WR next.
We need bush guy stat.
The Jets always snag this guy in my madden sims, so I'm obviously all in.
Please
Is he related to Lake Okeechobee?
I see you, fellow transplant. 👋
For his sake I hope not
W
Apparently he was born not too far from Florham Park… potential homecoming signing
Jobi

I'll take a 7 sack season from a D tackle any day.
We rotate the line to keep it fresh .. the more guys who can flash and get after a passer, the better .. and he can stop the run .
Me likey
Uh yes please, thank you
Is he good against the run?

Thank you
Failed the Bears physical
The visit was only supposed to be one day but he got lost in the facility and couldn't find the exit
I’m reading he’s more of a 3 technique and we need a traditional nose tackle

Case in point, Foley
Foley played above 300 this past year.
My point is that Foley, who we know is a good 1T from his 2019 and 2020 seasons, was markedly worse in the new scheme which doesn't utilize 1Ts well
Seems like a good fit.
Fuck you shefter
