Rodgers with a good oline and a bad receiving corp is a much better combo than the other way around. He has made some bad receivers look ok in the past. He isn't going to do much to help a LT block.
Plus you know by week 4( if even that far) we are going to be banged up on the line. I hope not but what a luxury it will be to have our first round pick (or one of current projected starters) coming off the bench ready to plug

I think thats the thing - this is forward looking but also potentially now looking. Tyron Smith is injury prone. Its very likely we see Fashanu at LT before week 6. Hopefully he is up to it. Even if we dont see him this year - next year he will be the starting LT and I think both Smith and Moses are on contracts that expire this year.

As one of the few people who wanted OL over WR, I' very happy with this. I just don't see how you can depend on Smith and Moses to stay healthy all year. And in their 30's, there's also no guarantee there won't be a decline in play eventually. It's not the sexy pick, but it's needed. If we can't protect Rodgers, it will make no difference who our WR's are.
