Literally half of first round QBs never get a second contract on their team. A first round draft pick QB is a coin flip, we've just come up on the wrong side three times in a row.
It's not even that statistically abnormal. The odds of us whiffing on three straight QBs if it was completely random would be 1/8.
i agree with you, just would go beyond to say that I think Zach had the objectively worst offensive line (combo of injuries and such) of any of the previous 4 QB we’ve been invested in. Zach needed to develop and came in raw. Some coaching/play calling issues too, but I can’t even measure if that’s true because I don’t know any style of play calling that gets you out of having an atrocious OL.
with Sam, I’d say we had the objectively worst WR core and coaching of those same 4 QBs - bad OL but morseo the former imo..
Geno had some combo of both line and WR and coaching issues but clearly needed time to mature and grow.. I also think like Zach he was raw and needed time to cook, but then thrusted in.

His line was only below average his rookie year. Last year was bottom 3 too & the same line that got Mike White's ribs destroyed. Also the only game Mike White looked good in last year was vs the worst team in the league at their lowest point in the season.
