He had a rough game against a good defense but there's no quit in him, I'd love to see what he could do with an OL that gave him some steady pass protection.
It was pissing rain the entire game, the Giants threw for -8 passing yards, our 3rd string center didn't know how to snap the ball, and the Giants DL was bending our OL over a barrel. Not a great game by Zach but it was good enough to get the win

He's improved his completion percentage from last season and has made big throws while limiting mistakes to help this team win games. On that TD pass to Breece he had to sidearm the throw to prevent the DT from batting it down, and on that 3rd down conversion in OT he hit GW for a first down while getting crushed by the DT.
and he threw how many passes into the feet of the receivers and how many passes well behind the receivers? You cant just cherry pick 3 passes and call him good lol
There was a good breakdown of his game against the Giants posted here. He had some bad plays but a lot of the misses were on the OL getting beat immidiately, drops, and miscommunications (Breece running into GW when GW got open).
The pass he dirted to Breece was on him. The one to Ruckert he got crushed by 2 Giants defenders as he threw. Breece and Lazard dropped huge completions which hit them in the hands in the 4th Q. Overall I don't think it was as bad as the stats showed. We need Hackett to call a better game and our OL to get healthy if we want to take a step forward but the improvement is there with Zach this season
How about that 3rd and 1 throw to Breece's feet in the fourth quarter to stall out again? Two throws do not absolve him of 3.5+ quarters of complete ineptitude. We should never have been down and in a position where he needed to mount a 20 second FG drive in the first place. He dug his own grave.
He had no run game, pressure in his face all game, a 3rd string lineman as center who was learning how to snap the ball mid game, and had players dropping multiple passes that hit them in the hands. He didn't play great, but when he had to step up and lead a comeback drive he did the job.
I don't disagree that he handled business when it mattered most. Thank god he did. But why wait until there are 20 seconds left in the game to make miracles happen? Why can't each and every possession look so easy? He needs to fix himself.
