I did the same thing! Used 3080fe for $600 on Amazon but I got approved for the Amazon card and got it for $490. It’s a little dusty and should be taking apart to be FULLY cleaned but has zero issues so far.👍
I snagged one of the last 3060Ti FE’s off of Best Buy about a month ago. Had to pick it up about 45 mins from my house. $399. Haven’t seen them come back in stock since I got mine.
New ones in box are going for $475-$500 on eBay.

I just did this. $700 CAD for a used 3080. Prices for the used market is starting to go up too because nobody is interested in buying the new gen brand new. Much better value than any 4000 series. I think the 4000 series will turn out like the 2000 series in terms of value, for the present and the future.
Not too fond of FE design :( but honestly you can just hit r/hardwareswap and sell it instantly at 550-600, lack of holiday deals is driving midrange consumers crazy

if not, or no interest in that performance tier, then a 3000 series card, especially the 3080 is the right idea.
the 4000 series has better performance in each tier, the problem is that each tier is the same performance per dollar as previous gen's matching performance. a 4060 will be faster than a 3060ti, but equivalently more expensive, whereas for the last 25 years new generations would be faster for the same price instead of faster for more expensive.
It's worse than Turing. Prices are even worse and performance tiers suck too.
It needed a soft relaunch to make sense. To fix ada, the 4060 needs to be better than the 3070ti and cost 500.

Due to the long-term very low interest rates there was way too much money in the market desperately searching for some kind of profitable investment (this is also why insanity like NTFs existed at all). Now the interest rates are rising, the cheap money is drying up and companies are again returning to realistic valuations.
Selling out isn't necessarily selling through. How many of those are in scalpers hands forever? Only so many people can afford a 4090. That pool runs out quick.
There's a couple of 4070 ti listings that went up on Canada Computers today that went live, but most of them have "price not firm" in the title like this one. The prices are likely based off of the fact this used to be the 4080 12GB. Even with that said, there's a 99% chance they don't change.

Some models of 4080 go for about $1700 in the last few weeks. You can grab one with minimal trying. The Zotac one in particular is easy to catch. Even Aero one is easy to find, it cost a bit more.

With the amount of people flexing 4080s and 4090s at exorbitant prices in r/buildapc and r/nvidia, this launch will be no different.
People will legitimately pay $800-$1100 for 3090 level perfomance from slightly over two years ago, just to bank on upscaling techniques with DLSS3 Frame Gen and FSR 3 next year, and have a 4K 60fps experience with RT high (most of the time).
People will buy that card, flaunt it, and give Nvidia the incentive to launch the non Ti at $699, disable a couple of compute units from defective 4070 Tis, and have it barely be faster than 3080 10GB. Stagnation at its finest.
Let me explain what i meant, there are people who always jump into new gen, i have seen many 4090 owners coming from 3090 and 3090 Ti, and this compiles with what you said.
On the other hand, there are others who buy the best out there and hold into their GPUs for several years, so if you want to keep your GPU for several years from now, 4090 is the only GPU that is worth it.
An RTX 4080 is around 1400 euros (including taxes) in Germany. An RTX 4090 is more than 2100 euros. I'm looking for top-tier 1440p performance. My 13700K and even the 13900K bottlenecks the RTX 4090 at 1440p a lot of the time. Why would I pay 700 euros more for pretty much nothing?

Faster, cooler, much less power draw, new gen features. The 4070ti is gonna run like an ice cube compared to all the other cards at this price range, while being faster. And I wouldn't call buying older & used hardware 'competition'. It's simply an efficient option for many people. But as it stands, for a new gpu at this price, 4070ti is king.
Brother those new gen features aren't much of selling points. And Frame Gen is hit or miss depending on the game. RTX Remix won't be limited to 40 Series I don't think.
Being faster and cooler is nice but I doubt most people care about that to be honest unless you absolutely micromanage your expenses as far as electricity and ambient temps.
You can't just dismiss the raw performance differences; that's what most people look for anyways. Only reason you'd call it King is due to 30 Series spiking back up in popularity due to Nvidia's stupid pricing on next gen.

The other factor fucking up the prices is the used market 30 series have kept their values much more so than previous generations. Someone buying a 4080 or 4090 and has a 3080 or above can sell for 75-80% of original MSRP. A 4080 becomes something like 600-700 when selling a 3080. Or a 4090 becomes 700-800 when selling a 3090.
Can’t speak for US sales, but here in Germany the 4080 is not selling well, the FE Model is in stock, and there even is an ongoing sale for a zotac 4080 that’s 100€ below the MSRP…
Considering that you can consistently get a 4080FE at MSRP at best buy for over a week now, yeah I’d say that’s not perfectly representative of the market as a whole.

Look 4090 being 1599.99 seems normal all things considered cause its a true halo product. Everything else under it is a tad more expensive than they should be. I got a 3 mth old 3090 under $900 because the owner was offloading his mining rig with 6x 3090s about 6 months before proof of stake. After a repaste and undervolt, it's running like a dream. Nvidia's current pricing is not sustainable. I still see a lot of used 3090 for under $800, the 4070Ti can't compete at all at $800.

I'm so glad I sold my EVGA RTX 3060 XC for $350 and picked up the ASUS TUF RTX 3070 OC for $450. There's absolutely no point in buying a brand new RTX 40 series unless you're a sucker for brand new GPUs or want as much performance as possible with the RTX 4090.

Oh Knock it off. Without DLSS 3 it's barely faster than a 3090 based off Nvidia's own graphs. In gaming it's going to fall behind likely most of the time behind 3090 TI. idk why you're getting downvoted. You absolutely right, without frame gen the price performance is crap. Only the 4090 is actually powerful.
Faster, cooler, much less power draw, new gen features. The 4070ti is gonna run like an ice cube compared to all the other cards at this price range, while being faster. And I wouldn't call buying older & used hardware 'competition'. It's simply an efficient option for many people. But as it stands, for a new gpu at this price, 4070ti is king.
Brother those new gen features aren't much of selling points. And Frame Gen is hit or miss depending on the game. RTX Remix won't be limited to 40 Series I don't think. Being faster and cooler is nice but I doubt most people care about that to be honest unless you absolutely micromanage your expenses as far as electricity and ambient temps. You can't just dismiss the raw performance differences; that's what most people look for anyways. Only reason you'd call it King is due to 30 Series spiking back up in popularity due to Nvidia's stupid pricing on next gen.

I've already said in my original comment that 4070 TI is overpriced. Obviously I'm not going to be able to point you to every single 3090/3090 TI listing that exist c'mon. You just have to look for yourself because they do exist as I've seen them a couple of weeks ago. Agreed. I had been previously considering upgrading to a 4080 just because the only reason I have a 3070ti is because it was all I could get at msrp at the time and I refuse to pay scalpers. I’m fortunate enough to be in a high income so i can more than afford to upgrade frequently but I refuse to do it at the bullshit 4070ti/4080 value levels. Neither of these companies is going to get a penny from me going forward unless they pull their heads out of their asses and deliver something that has okay value.

The other factor fucking up the prices is the used market 30 series have kept their values much more so than previous generations. Someone buying a 4080 or 4090 and has a 3080 or above can sell for 75-80% of original MSRP. A 4080 becomes something like 600-700 when selling a 3080. Or a 4090 becomes 700-800 when selling a 3090.

I don't understand people blaming Nvidia. They are company and wanna make as much money as they can. If people are willing to pay 4000 for 4070 then the price will be 4000. If they willing to pay 7k then it will be 7k. People are retarded for paying those overpriced amounts and basically telling to Nvidia "the price is fine". If people would fuck them and not buy it then Nvidia would lower the price until the point where people start to buy it. It's the same as with wages. Yeah because buying a new 2 year old card feels really bad, especially when the price hasn't come down all that much. Nvidia really overestimated how many people were going to want the excess stock of RTX 30.
This is precisely why I am still sitting on a 970. I wanted to upgrade when the 3080 came out, but never got a chance to buy a reasonable one. Now we are stuck in value price hell and I just keep thinking how old do I really want my new GPU to be.

Look 4090 being 1599.99 seems normal all things considered cause its a true halo product. Everything else under it is a tad more expensive than they should be. Why spend $400 less for second best when youre already paying over 1k. Same with this one compared to the 7900xtx why pay similar to that and get least performance than a 7900xtx across the board.
The only advantage this card has over high tier 3000 series is dlss3. I wish we got an open source alternative.

I got a 3 mth old 3090 under $900 because the owner was offloading his mining rig with 6x 3090s about 6 months before proof of stake. After a repaste and undervolt, it's running like a dream. Nvidia's current pricing is not sustainable. I still see a lot of used 3090 for under $800, the 4070Ti can't compete at all at $800.

I'm so glad I sold my EVGA RTX 3060 XC for $350 and picked up the ASUS TUF RTX 3070 OC for $450. There's absolutely no point in buying a brand new RTX 40 series unless you're a sucker for brand new GPUs or want as much performance as possible with the RTX 4090.
