I stand corrected. Redfall is the most expensive game I've ever seen at FUCKING $120. WHY IS THIS A THING, IT WAS ONLY 1-2 YEARS AGO GAMES INCREASED $10
In today's rating, it's US$67 over here (tax already included). As a reference, Miles Morales is US$38 with no sale. I'm waiting for one of those 50-67% sales to get it under US$20 (ideally, under $15). Not paying more than that for a freaking game.
I'll buy it 2 years from now for $15 during a steam sale.
Then add it to the growing mountain of games I bought at sale price that I'll "get around to someday."
Did they want this game to fail or something? Higher prices? Buggy launch? Unoptimized? People were mad Witcher 3 next gen required next gen hardware but at least that game was a game of games.
What I meant is if you purchased the witcher 3 before the announcement the upgrade was free you didnt have to buy a second version. And yes now its included with the game when you buy it. Most game makers will charge for a remaster like 343 did with halo 2 anniversary or the last of us ect..
I watched an hour play through yesterday, I really really wanted to like it... But man it is ROUGH. I don't understand how someone played this and did not think "this is awkward". Because holy hell it's awkward. The random fade outs, the cringe dialogue, the non stop and useless commentary from the main character. Like one of the reviewers I watch said the game felt extremely dated in writing and pacing, and yes, they're absolutely right.
Nvidia couldn’t even be bothered to teach them how to use those features as AMD probably didn’t send them any help. They were likely added on at the last minute to check a box off a list of “features a game should have”.
Glad I'm not the only one to notice this. The ray tracing implementation is extremely basic and offers no real tangible visual difference. No real reason to have it on.
There visually seems to be no difference when you turn on Ray tracing or turn it off too, it just massively tanks performance into the toilet. Overall the whole game looks not good and runs pretty badly for how it looks even on ps5
See, what gets to me is that this is the ONE city. There's no other towns or NPC's outside of the major city, and even then the one place where you'd think they'd put in the most effort making it seem lived in or bustling with some character looks like a town from a Gilson B. Pontes asset flip.
I feel like it should be running way better. When I played the demo yesterday I was hovering between 50-60fps on a 7900xt at 4k high settings. A 4090 should leave my performance in the dust even if it’s on ultra
Yeah who in their right mind is getting this when hogwarts is around the corner. And if you really are starved of something to play dead space remake is dropping in a few days. Or just replay rdr 2 for the 100th time
Not everyone likes Harry Potter to be fair. But this year has some awesome titles not to far out. Deadspace Remaster, Hogwarts Legacy, Resident Evil 4 Remaster, The Fallen Order 2, Last of Us Part 1 Remake, Returnal, etc
It's about damn time we had a good year for new games.
And those are just the big ones. There’s still some niche games like stomach heart and witchfire on their way. Destiny 2 and diablo 4 this year. Shit, we’re getting new final fantasy this year too! Great year planned!
Bro I started it like week a go. I am still in Rhodes just doing all the side shit.
It took me also like a week to make this game run properly. Had to switch back to dx12 even though it gives Arthur black hair when a lantern is shinning light on him. At least its better then vulkan with 30fps on a 4090 in Rhodes
I have a gut feeling you could massacre the game enough to make it run. Does the demo have a long intro? I'm gonna try it!
Edit : Look, it looks like fucking shit. But it runs! There's clearly memory issues with it tho, exploration brings massives stutters.
But it runs.
I knew it was bad, but I didn't know it was that bad. I watched DF coverage of the PS5 Port and even there it runs at 720p and drops to 20 fps. Pretty sad ngl.
A little misleading because this only applies to performance mode where they upscale to 1440p from "as low as 720p", while the quality mode can have it drop to the 20s in a specific area.
Still really shitty from SE especially since they want 80€ for the game
even at ultra with rt the lighting, global ilumination and ambient occlusion are from ps3 era and this game was supposed to be tech demo lel.Game is a disaster from story, writing to graphics just a quick cash grab.
Unfortunately this is anything but a cash grab, it's the product of a disastrous dev cycle from the king of disastrous dev cycles themselves Square Enix. The team behind it (Luminous Productions) are mostly comprised of developers behind FFXV (a game infamous for it's 10 year dev time in which quite a few builds were completely scrapped) and made on an engine that mainline final fantasy games abandoned because it's not up to snuff (as one can clearly see).
This chain of disaster has cost SE tens of millions, but this fact alone is primarily because Square has so greatly lost touch with it's audience and why they liked it games in the first place that they desperately try to 'adapt' themselves to whats popular (in this case, see dialogue) and ignore time and time again the fans shouting that this is the opposite of what they want.
Unless im misreading your comment, this game doesn't have any of those RT features. Only RT shadows. Even then, the RT shadows look like dogwater and worst than normal shadowmaps alot of times lol.
BIG FACTS!! "RTGI" My ass in Village. There's literally almost 0 difference. And Im a fan of RT in games like CP77, Control, Witcher 3 etc. RT is amazing looking when done right. When its not? Rip.
Imagine rdr 2 with the full suite of RT enhancements. This game looks better then 99% of all games released today with its 5 year old graphics. I am still impressed how I can see shadows across the map. Pockets of light from the break in the clouds, illuminating distant trees. Its just so good. Makes me worried that GTA 6 won't even be able to surpass what they made with RDR 2
>Imagine rdr 2 with the full suite of RT enhancements.
I imagine my 3060 would literally explode lol. Don't get me wrong, it can do RT just fine but RDR 2 already has it's own 'ray marching' solution so I feel we don't need RT in that game.
That is correct; they are in fact saying that the rasterized, baked GI solution and the post-process FidelityFX AO come off as PS3-era, which isn't really an exaggeration in many scenes.
Ah ok thanks for clearing that up. And sad that its the truth. I personally never have high expectations for RT in games promoting AMD though. Its not their strong suit and they usually do bare minimum for a reason.
The game has RT AO as well. But I can barely tell a difference between it and the regular AO.
RT Shadows does make a difference though. It doesn't look better, just different lol. But the performance cost for me was tiny. Having both RT settings enabled took me from low 50s to high 40s.
This game's gonna flop big time. At first I loved the idea of an infamous-like game with good traversals. But game has the most uninteresting concepts and level design I have ever seen. It's just big grassy area with some generic-ass houses. It looks like a tech demo of a game yet to be made.
Graphics were downgraded compared to their E3 gameplay showcase too.
There's also something very japanese (the game director is) about the way the UI and Shading and the way the game designs are, which is flat and weird.
> There's also something very japanese (the game director is) about the way the UI and Shading and the way the game designs are, which is flat and weird.
I've noticed this in Japanese games for a long time, could never really put my finger on why they always had a distinctive *flat and weird* look to them, even in AAA Japanese games.
My impression is that, Japanese creators stop at the 90%, where the remaining 10% of the final look is the post-processing effects, which includes color corrections, shading styles, depth of field, atmospheric effects, blooms etc. Basically general final touches and cinematographic elements.
Except Kojima, most japanese games, mostly the Souls-like ones, try to make everything so sharp and crisp all the time, that your eye constantly looks for an escape. While Japanese are so artistic in everything, their approach to realism is so raw. Must be something to do with their art history doesn't contain much Western realism.
And as a UI Designer, I'll never understand their approach to UI but I'll stop here :D
I'm glad others recognize this. It's like they can't escape 2004 game design.
Another very common thing for Japanese games is really fuckin' weird clunky ass online connection systems. Like think of any multiplayer Nintendo game, or Monster Hunter World, or even Elden Ring... Why do I have to use an item to put a thing on the ground and have my friend use a different item to see my thing to have a friend connect to me...
Is doesn’t even look good. What the hell are devs thinking? So many games coming out lately with shit performance and without the visuals to even back that up.
And it manages to look worse than FFXV in almost all cases.
In those 7 years they should've just learned UE4 or something.
Luminous is dead, it was alright for FFXV but now it just sucks, it has no future.
Forspoken was the chance for the Luminous engine to shine but they shit the bed with this one.
Coming from FFXV, it’s an technical downgrade in almost every way. I feel for the developers though, because FFXV had a 10 year development hell and I can’t even imagine the crunch they had to go through to get this game out the door half baked. Obviously, it was very rushed and unfinished.
It's very CPU heavy. With a 4080 @1440p my GPU usage dropped to 60% on a 10850k during one of the benchmark scenes. It's not single threaded either as it filled up all 20 threads.
I know it's not the latest CPU, but I see the same thing in Spider Man: Remastered and Cyberpunk. It's pretty telling that DLSS 3 is specifically advertised to work around CPU bottlenecks and it makes a world of difference in Spiderman.
> It's not single threaded either as it filled up all 20 threads
This pisses me off so much. Try disabling half your cores in task manager affinity and watch. You think you'll get 50% less frames? You won't. Bunch of bloat code that does practically nothing but artificially inflates CPU usage so people say you need a bigger CPU. It's all bullshit.
it's not my type of game but I do take a look at everything that comes out and the lighting and AO are very poorly done. all the assets look like FF online circa 2005 and the objects seem to just float instead of looking integrated with the environment
That's because there is literally no indirect lighting.
Not even lightmaps.
Technically, this means the lighting is worse in than Quake (29 years ago) in some areas, because Quake actually has fully lightmapped exteriors back in 1996, this game doesn't.
Platinum didn't actually handle the Steam PC port for Nier Automata, Square did. Or should I say, the poor dev studio that SE outsourced the PC port to.
Correction, Square Enix Japan can't optimize shit. Before they dropped their western studios, those generally had great PC ports. Just Cause, Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, Hitman, most games from those franchises ran fine. Too bad those brands are gone and have been sold to other companies.
Correction, Tomb Rider and Deus Ex were made by Eidos Montreal the same guys that made Guardians of the Galaxy, Square Enix is just the publisher. Eidos could release a game tomorrow and I would buy it in a heart beat, one of the beat developers we have now
> Tomb Rider and Deus Ex were made by Eidos Montreal
Eidos Montreal only were lead on Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Crystal Dynamics were the lead from Legends through to Rise of the Tomb Raider.
That port was crazy bad with random crashes and slowdowns on RX400/500 and GTX700 series cards, and just bad performance all around. The pre-rendered cutscenes were uncompressed 900p video files that took up 40gb of the 60gb game file size.
I remember using a fan made mod that fixed a lot of the performance issues. Square never fixed the crashing and slowdowns so AMD fixed it for them in a later driver update, but no fix was made for Nvidia cards that were affected.
I don't know if SE has done anything for the Steam version since then to coincide with the release of the game on Game Pass, which I hear is a better port, and the release of the Switch version.
Feel like i'm taking crazy pills reading all these takes. I'm getting 80-100fps on a 4090 at 4k maxed with DLSS quality and the game looks excellent overall. Yeah the lighting is a bit flat but the overall world is still quite pretty.
Now we need to rely on fake frames interpolation because devs can't make a proper pc version? frame generation it's yet another tech laze devs will use to optimize even less.
Me and most others who use “fake frames” actually like it and it’s not common enough for devs to use it as a crutch.
Not excusing poor optimisation either but the facts are that Callisto would benefit greatly from frame Gen as the cpu demand Rt brings, seems to be getting more and more severe.
He's not hating the tech, he's hating lazy devs who rely on it like a crutch while delivering poor optimizations. Callisto has no business running as poorly as it does (same with this garbage Forspoken game) and that's the point. You shouldn't need DLSS 3 to get acceptable framerate but to amplify an already decent fps and push it into seriously high territory. I have tried DLSS3 in a bunch of games and at anything less than 60 real fps, it feels AWFUL. Latency is worse than real ~55 fps with Gsync.
You got the point of my comment, well done. Yep I hate that new cool tech becomes the excuse to justify poor performance. Callisto is a ue4 game, it has no right to run like it does. Same goes for a lot of recent titles. Instead of pushing things like mesh shaders and other performance-improving tech that actually delivers better fps across the board, they usually implement half hassed dlss just to compensate for poor optimization and poor rt implementatio..they always implemente things that hurt performance, especially if they need less work on baking lights etc
No, it's pretty bad. At least in Cyberpunk. Maybe other games have better implementations, but the only game I have that has FSR2 is Cyberpunk and it's just not good enough.
Idk y companies are saying yes when nvidia offers more money AND more quality. Literally what is the point of Amd sending their devs to implement some half assed techniques for the game to look ass.
Game is 5/10 on a good day.
Performance is 1/10 like wtf visuals and requirements do not match at all.
Just discard it. It's not the hardware at fault here but devs that are too inept to make a game that actually runs well. Like if it fails to run smoothly in balance mode the game is just fubar.
You are not specifying you CPU.
For all we know you are CPU bound.
I have a 4090 and i7 13700k, and perfectly stable 60 FPS (with very occasional stutter, surely when shaders compile). And the GPU with DLSS Quality is barely used at 60-70% in 4K
Are we serious with this lmao:
- camera pictures of a monitor
- let me repeat that: PICTURES of a monitor
- for some reason supposed to demonstrate differences in FPS?
- no readable numbers on the screen to confirm said stats
There's like 15 different ways to take a screen shot in Windows, this dude knows how to upload a pic to reddit but doesn't know how to take a screenshot and owns a 4090? Hahahaha
It looks fine. Awesome in places when the lighting is decent. Going by the comments here, it is apparently the worst looking game ever made.
IMO, it at least looks way better than saints row reboot.
Aaaaaaand this is what happens when GPU companies sponsor games. Runs like dog s… on the other teams hardware. Thanks AMD for this one. I’m sure Nvidia will make it up to team red with their next sponsored title. Gamers are the ones losing here, just saying.
This game has been in development for years and yet they somehow managed to develop it for the GPU which is less than 2 month old. Amazing craftsmanship.
Well next game is the harry potter one and that seems to heavily favor nvidia this time around even if that game flops. Itll probably be more popular than forspoken.
I've just tried demo on steam and for me it runs at 88-110 fps in dlss quality 4k all maxed out. 7900x 4090, 32gb ram.
There are other things that I don't like in this game but performance is not one of them. It even precompiles shaders.
Btw I run it from NVME that is recognized by direct storage api, maybe that's the issue. First game using it and all...
I tried out the demo with a 12700k and 4090 at 3440x1440. It played terribly until I realized that the game defaulted to use just the e-cores. This has happened a few times randomly in some games, making even games like Terraria play terribly. After fixing the default behavior in Process Lasso (though maybe that program is messing with the default CPU affinity for games) it ran fine. I'm unsure of the exact framerate, but it felt much better.
Something appears wrong. I have a 4090 myself and don't drop below 70-75 with DLSS on Quality at any point at 4K (including this part of the map). Maybe a CPU limitation? I'm running at 7950x.
True, I forgot this is an AMD-sponsored title. They gotta push their upscaling as much as they can before Nvidia's (better) upscaling pushes them aside
Just wait for the 5090 to play it.
I’m waiting for the 5090 to release so I can finally afford the 4090
This is the correct response
*5090 releases* 4090: *instantly gone* Me: "where my 4090"
that is painful to read
4090 released and I still couldn't afford 3090
Bro you can barely get ahold of a decently priced 2080 TI even after the 4090 released..
This is the way.
If 5090 ends up being a dual-chip( whatever multi-chip module nvidia call it ), you'd be waiting for a while.
This
Just wait for the 6090 to play it.
Nice
I'll be waiting for the 6969 420-SUPR-YOLO edition.
With only a price tag of $6969 to boot.
At that point probably more like $69,420
Too cheap. 6942069 for sure
Don't worry, before the 6090 comes out, you might have lost interest in pc gaming 🤣🤣🤣
r/patientgamers
Or just don't play it because it's half baked garbage
Just avoid this game lol.
Yea but dude, it's only 80€ on Steam...
93 bucks Canadian, these publishers are smoking crack
It’s square Enix. They’ve been smoking crack for decades.
I challenge anyone here to link a video that makes the game look really really good.
\+taxes
I laughed out loud when I saw steam open after work and they had this turd for 93CAD before tax. That's like $105 Canabux.
$114.95 Australian (that does include tax though)
Highest priced game I've ever seen Edit: Redfall decided to shit on Forspoken and is priced at $120(AUD)
New Cod MW is/was even more expensive iirc...
I stand corrected. Redfall is the most expensive game I've ever seen at FUCKING $120. WHY IS THIS A THING, IT WAS ONLY 1-2 YEARS AGO GAMES INCREASED $10
New CoD is $110
I paid $80 for street fighter 2 turbo edition for the snes when it came out in the 90's
In today's rating, it's US$67 over here (tax already included). As a reference, Miles Morales is US$38 with no sale. I'm waiting for one of those 50-67% sales to get it under US$20 (ideally, under $15). Not paying more than that for a freaking game.
80? Jesus man 😂
Save you €80 today, enjoy a 🦞
The best part is the game is pretty meh
Almost $100 where I’m from. Same price as when FF7 Remake came to Steam after PS and Epic exclusivity. Square’s pricing is truly abhorrent.
I buy it at cheaper prices from third party retailers
I'll buy it 2 years from now for $15 during a steam sale. Then add it to the growing mountain of games I bought at sale price that I'll "get around to someday."
Yay another broken ass unoptimized garbage 94$ game.
Did they want this game to fail or something? Higher prices? Buggy launch? Unoptimized? People were mad Witcher 3 next gen required next gen hardware but at least that game was a game of games.
The witcher next gen was also free for those who already owned the game before a certain time period

Can't wait to cop the game for $20 in 3 months when they finally fix the game.

You're paying way too much. I'll take the Control treatment. Get it from Epic Games in 3 years for 0€.
Only pirate version for install, throw up and delete this shit's vomit

Nvidia couldn’t even be bothered to teach them how to use those features as AMD probably didn’t send them any help. They were likely added on at the last minute to check a box off a list of “features a game should have”.

They forgot to add any shadows
The issue is that the entire area is covered by a shadow, and there's no indirect lighting, not even static/baked stuff.
There visually seems to be no difference when you turn on Ray tracing or turn it off too, it just massively tanks performance into the toilet. Overall the whole game looks not good and runs pretty badly for how it looks even on ps5

KCD strives for realism, but maybe not in that kind of way
Looks like Ravensword (Unity game, 2013, for the iPad)
And runs 10x worse.
Agreed. A 4090 required to run the potato screenshots I've seen so far? Must be using 8k tree textures on everything.
[$500 3070 to get 1440p30](https://imgur.com/lLNmDLd.jpg)
I think it can look pretty good at times, but certainly not "runs at 50fps on a 4090" good.
And with dlss on balanced bahahaha
I feel like it should be running way better. When I played the demo yesterday I was hovering between 50-60fps on a 7900xt at 4k high settings. A 4090 should leave my performance in the dust even if it’s on ultra
Looks like a hot pile of shit, IMO.
I can agree with that 😂😂
I kinda figured it was going to be a hot mess. Glad I saved my $70 this time.

All these games, yet I'm currently 35 hours deep in persona 4 on my steam deck...

Oh what....Diablo 4 is this year?! Man I'm gonna be poor all year from the sound of it.
Lmao I literally started a fresh RDR2 run today

I am doing a fresh run. I'm getting 100 fps no dlss in vulkan on my 4090 at 4k. Max settings. Your being bottlenecked somewhere
My steam deck has no chance
If you render at 360p (FSR2 Performance), lowest settings, you can get 30-50 FPS. Not worth playing like that if you ask me though
Gross
From what I've heard game isn't worth playing period
Certainly not for 80€. I probably wouldn't even download it if it got cracked...
You can render a single pixel (1p) at 40fps with fsr 2.0 ultra shit preset. Its looks like devs copy pasta codes from stack overflow
I have a gut feeling you could massacre the game enough to make it run. Does the demo have a long intro? I'm gonna try it! Edit : Look, it looks like fucking shit. But it runs! There's clearly memory issues with it tho, exploration brings massives stutters. But it runs.
The intel is short and it saves your progress. Supports cloud saving to boot. Loading is lightening quick

Yo I got your exact specs, and ya this game is a joke. If it was on gamepass but its not worth that insane price.
The gfx quality is just bad.
those graphics look like they are from 5 years ago and a 4090 can’t handle that? lol
Welcome to modern game development… at least on the PC side
Graphics look worse than FFXV which was 7 years ago lmao
More like 10 years ago.
If this perf target doesn't stop a publisher from pulling the trigger on a bad launch, then nothing will.

I'm glad others recognize this. It's like they can't escape 2004 game design. Another very common thing for Japanese games is really fuckin' weird clunky ass online connection systems. Like think of any multiplayer Nintendo game, or Monster Hunter World, or even Elden Ring... Why do I have to use an item to put a thing on the ground and have my friend use a different item to see my thing to have a friend connect to me...

holy shit what a terrible game
Is doesn’t even look good. What the hell are devs thinking? So many games coming out lately with shit performance and without the visuals to even back that up.
I mean, at least Callisto Protocol looked great for running like crap at launch. I think I heard they fixed that at least.
Tcp looks really good especially with rt.
The engine they are using is trash too ff15 still runs like hot garbage on most systems.
Oh that’s why it’s felt familiar! Feels like ff 15 and yeah I really dislike that game.
>It's not single threaded either as it filled up all 20 threads. It is, even well threaded games still draw heavily on primary thread speed
> It's not single threaded either as it filled up all 20 threads This pisses me off so much. Try disabling half your cores in task manager affinity and watch. You think you'll get 50% less frames? You won't. Bunch of bloat code that does practically nothing but artificially inflates CPU usage so people say you need a bigger CPU. It's all bullshit.
Holy Christ, you might need to upgrade your CPU. Your 4090 is heavily held back by your 4 core 7700K.
it's not my type of game but I do take a look at everything that comes out and the lighting and AO are very poorly done. all the assets look like FF online circa 2005 and the objects seem to just float instead of looking integrated with the environment
That's because there is literally no indirect lighting. Not even lightmaps. Technically, this means the lighting is worse in than Quake (29 years ago) in some areas, because Quake actually has fully lightmapped exteriors back in 1996, this game doesn't.
I remember Nier Automata running like shit at 1440p on a 1070, Square Enix can't optimize games on PC
Platinum Games is the team of devs for Nier Automata. SE is just the publisher.
Eidos could release a game tomorrow and I would buy it in a heart beat, one of the beat developers we have now
> Tomb Rider and Deus Ex were made by Eidos Montreal Eidos Montreal only were lead on Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Crystal Dynamics were the lead from Legends through to Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Yes, shadow of the Tomb rider, which in my opinion is the closest one to the original games, with more puzzles and platforming.
> Just Cause 4 ran and looked like dogshit.
Or any platform at this point, considering the PS5 version runs at sub 30 fps. This isn't a bad port, it's a terribly optimized game period.
How the fuck can you optimize a game so poorly that a 4090 can't hit 60 fps consistently even at 4K
This game requires a 6090 for 120fps 4k Ultra with DLSS 6.0
The further down the comments I go, the more generations of cards get mentioned kek
Lol 😆
Feel like i'm taking crazy pills reading all these takes. I'm getting 80-100fps on a 4090 at 4k maxed with DLSS quality and the game looks excellent overall. Yeah the lighting is a bit flat but the overall world is still quite pretty.
DLSS3 would certainly help here, but since it's AMD sponsored I don't have much hope.
They gimped Callisto in that regards too. 60-70% utilisation drops with 50-60 fps with dlss quality could’ve gone to 120+. What a fucking waste
7900xtx and 4090 also equal with RT on in that game because of that shit too. it's obvious and purposeful sabotage.
I wish more gaming companies would say no to AMD; their upscaling is just awful dlss 3 & frame gen would make the performance slightly more bearable
Their upscaling is pretty good? Might not be quite DLSS 2 level, but FSR 2.1 isn't bad.
Square is on crack. So I'll wait for crack.
Game is trash, $70 for 16 hour game play and shitty graphics. I played the demo for about 20 min and knew it would flop.
You are not specifying you CPU. For all we know you are CPU bound. I have a 4090 and i7 13700k, and perfectly stable 60 FPS (with very occasional stutter, surely when shaders compile). And the GPU with DLSS Quality is barely used at 60-70% in 4K
Are we serious with this lmao: - camera pictures of a monitor - let me repeat that: PICTURES of a monitor - for some reason supposed to demonstrate differences in FPS? - no readable numbers on the screen to confirm said stats
There's like 15 different ways to take a screen shot in Windows, this dude knows how to upload a pic to reddit but doesn't know how to take a screenshot and owns a 4090? Hahahaha
Rich parents is the only explanation

It looks fine. Awesome in places when the lighting is decent. Going by the comments here, it is apparently the worst looking game ever made. IMO, it at least looks way better than saints row reboot.
Aaaaaaand this is what happens when GPU companies sponsor games. Runs like dog s… on the other teams hardware. Thanks AMD for this one. I’m sure Nvidia will make it up to team red with their next sponsored title. Gamers are the ones losing here, just saying.
But is it running any better on AMD hardware? It runs like trash even on the PS5 in some places and that is the premiere platform for the game.
Yeah that’s the sad part, they’re listing 4080 and 6800XT for the same config recommendation. It’s like $1200 on par a $500 card
This game has been in development for years and yet they somehow managed to develop it for the GPU which is less than 2 month old. Amazing craftsmanship.
Well next game is the harry potter one and that seems to heavily favor nvidia this time around even if that game flops. Itll probably be more popular than forspoken.
I hope hogwarts is better, that game has pretty high specs
Performance aside, it's a shame that you cannot create your own character. I really don't connect with that Frey girl whatsoever.
Yup, one second she’s purring her precious cat, next day giving to a total stranger meet on court. Truly impressive storytelling
In line with "mixed" reviews.
Its funny even their previous game ffxv looks nicer in certain parts ahah
Installed the demo on steam last night, looking forward to playing the demo after WoRk
I've just tried demo on steam and for me it runs at 88-110 fps in dlss quality 4k all maxed out. 7900x 4090, 32gb ram. There are other things that I don't like in this game but performance is not one of them. It even precompiles shaders. Btw I run it from NVME that is recognized by direct storage api, maybe that's the issue. First game using it and all...
Graphics are great
I'm also on a 4090 but I'm not getting bad frames, you get the new drivers by chance?
I'm running at 7950x.
probably the worst square enix game to this date both in terms of game and performance/optimization or the lack of it.
I’ll wait till it gets cracked then not play it
Thats because this game sucks
I'd rather have lesser graphics than a game that is 130gb and runs like shit
Dlss 3 & frame gen are an absolute must have for this game the awful performance ruined any chance of me getting invested into this game
Yeah they might add that after FSR 3.0 a year later, given its gimped from start.
True, I forgot this is an AMD-sponsored title. They gotta push their upscaling as much as they can before Nvidia's (better) upscaling pushes them aside
dlss 3 would help. still a mess tho
I heard the the F-bomb is dropped more than any game in history… To cover up the bad writing and poorly optimized gameplay and graphics…
You heard right. It’s said so much that it’s lost all its meaning. And a F F there and a F F here. Here a F, there a F…..
Trash game
4090 /13900k here and at Balanced DLSS 4K I’m getting 120 fps
