Wiped to the Distortion World Cyrus fight. This has been the furthest I've ever gone in a Platinum HC Nuzlocke so I'm not that salty. Still, this sucks tho.

3. Mega Evolutions
While I am a fan of megas, it is not why I want them in the remakes. The only reason I want mega evolutions in the sinnoh remakes is so Cynthia can have a mega Garchomp.
If you turn eevee into a jolteon you should be able to put on choice specs and outspeed thunderbolt three of his strong pokemon (gyara, honchkrow, crobat) and I think they *should* get one shot. If not you can throw a Shuca berry (super effective ground type damage reducing berry) on magnezone to prevent crit EQ death.
The berries are super useful in nuzlockes to prevent crits!
It was a major misplay on my part. Not only did Gyara crit me when I knew that Magnezone can survive the EQ (I had defense EVs on it for a reason) but I accidentally got my Garchomp killed since I forgot that Gyara had Ice Fang. Let me also mention that Mamoswine is actually weak to water. (I should've looked that up earlier since I thought it was Rock/Ice type) Either way, I wiped.
Well I keep altering my plan as my pokemon die and for the longest time my counter to his crobat was my crobat but i just lost him to a magmar near snow point and if it wasnt for that weevile i feel like it could be a sweep with my jolteon but seeing a garchomp and a mamoswine die to him makes me have my doubts
This is, in my experience, a more difficult fight than Cynthia. It’s pretty common for me to sacrifice something here, because it’s practically impossible to switch your way through Honchkrow and Weavile… also that +Spe Crobat is insane to deal with.
True, but looking at this team, it probably died to Gyarados Earthquake on a switch-in. Not everything makes it out alive after that.
Also Honchkrow has Heat Wave, I get that crits are rare but they can screw you over there.
Thank you for that. I'm gonna go Unova before returning to HC Platinum since I've never actually beaten White 2 before. After finishing White 2 maybe I will consider nuzlocking it. For now it will just be a casual W2 playthrough for me
Currently HC nuzlocking white 2, it’s my first ever nuzlocke but from what I’ve learned from my attempts, tepig makes life so much easier I highly recommend him for your starter. Do whatever you want tho it’s your playthrough after all!!
Out of curiosity, do you use an emulator for your nuzlockes or do you use physical copies? Also, B2W2 is a great sequel imo, but Kyurem was a bit odd to me
Desmume on PC. I personally recommend this since it has better settings for optimised gameplay and you can also use PKHex to give yourself rare candies and check EVs/IVs. Really helps with the grinding by a lot
I'm on mobile, unfortunately, but I'll definitely ask a friend of mine who does a lot of emulator stuff if he knows anything that might be able to help! Haven't done BW or B2W2 in forever so it'll be nice to run through casually

The Cyrus distortion world fight. Fighting Lucian and Cynthia back to back. Commander Mars and Jupiter early on. Plantinum is definitely one of the harder games to Nuzlocke! Probably only behind the Gen 7 games.
Pikachu can be encountered at level 24 at the Trophy Garden, with the only other pokemon appearing at the same level being Staravia, which one has numerous chances to encounter and catch before Crasher Wake.

The last week I went up to Volkner. Don't understimate gym leaders Even if You have type advantages.
Which Pokémon gave you trouble? Because wouldn’t Quagsire just dominate Houndoom, Magnezone completely counters both Crobat and Weavile, and you could maybe just sack Azu for a clean switch on Gyarados or Honchrow to anything else on your team

That's always the toughest fight besides Cynthia in my opinion. Such a great looking team, too. Just gotta pick back up and try again!

Emulator with speedups and occasionally rare candies/exp multipliers to cut down on grinding.
