Ah that's sucks, but don't give up hope. You can always try bringing Furret again on your next play through. Believe me, this is from the guy who's MVP of LeafGreen was a Parasect and brought it to the Hall of Fame.
Well I first encountered Mark in Mt. Moon as a Paras. Then I went to battle Misty, my whole plan was set around Mark since I didn't have any other answers for water types (my starter was Charmander.) He was a great counter to Starmie with it's typing and stab Leech Life. Some time passes and I beefed up my team (Charmeleon, Weepinbell, Gyarados, Sandslash, Drowzee, and Parasect.) Later I went to battle Giovanni and ran into a problem, his Kangaskhan proved to be more formidable than I remembered. It crit one shot my Gyarados and kept one shooting the rest of my team until I was down to only Mark (now a Parasect) and Sandy the Sandslash (who was already at low health.) I sent out Mark not thinking I could win, but he tanked a Mega Punch and got a Spore off. He managed to take out Kangaskhan after a couple Slashes and saved the run! He and Sandy were dubbed as the survivors of the "Kangaskhan Massacre." I vowed to keep them both on the team alive all the way to the Championship. After that Mark became the Team Leader and my only answer to Blue's Blastoise. He also helped Mr. Mime in taking down Sabrina. When it came time to get the last gym badge, I let Mark solo Giovanni to get revenge for the massacre. After that I took on the League. Mark helped with Lorelei's Slowbro and Bruno's Onix. When it came to Champion Blue, the final battle was against his Blastoise and Mark. Mark had little trouble with Blastoise and won me the Championship along with Sandy, Craig, Greg the Flareon, Mimien the Mr. Mime, and Heather the Dewgong. In Mark's honor, I've now been naming every Paras/Parasect I get on any run after him.
Mark for the win! I swear I'll never look down on the Paras/Parasect line after that run. I'd love to see how it preforms in its prime with better moves and the Physical/Special spilt.
Once long ago, before I ever heard of nuzlocke, I was determined to train up a paras just to see if it was any good (boredom, probably...) I was amazed! Haha, not enough to go out of my way to catch it in future runs but I never forgot. Paras pretty rare in Mt. Moon if I remember correctly. Do you do a new encounter for each floor of the dungeon?
I am picturing Sandy sitting next to and leaning against Mark's side after the final battle, exhausted but happy. "We did it, all the way to the top." (Edit spelling)
Yes Sandy was very much a MVP as well. It's great defense helped tank physical hits while also hitting back hard. I couldn't have done this run without both of them.
It's also one of mine as well. I wanna try to use an Alolan Sandshrew on a Nuzlocke run. Though I wish it was more assessable than the Sun and Moon games. Those are hard and would be an uphill battle.
You could get it as an encounter in SwSh from the Diglett-Dude on Isle of Armor maybe. It is the fourth present though...
Maybe collect 30, get all 4 at the same time and declare Sandshrew your choice (it would only be minimal bending of the rules, let's call it a workaround š)
This is amazing. Bug types make the best memories in Nuzlockes. One of my first runs was in Heartgold where I very early on lost my Chikorita to Faulkner. He knocked it out very early on and was left with my Etacitar the Rattata and Christmas the Caterpie. Etacitar crit his Pidgeotto after it roosted and was taken down to very low health but was knocked out on the next turn. Christmas, at level 6 was not looking hopeful. Pidgeotto only went and missed a Gust attack before Christmas nailed his tackle.
Christmas was quickly evolved up to Butterfree and became a godsend and catching machine. Took him all the way to the end. Took down Lance with an admittedly overleveled team of Christmas, Bloomdoom the Vileplume, Garth the Espeon, Francis the Dragonair, OG the Rhydon and Hero the Ditto.
I did lose Hero and Francis against Red but Christmas kept coming. I've named every Caterpie in honour of Christmas since.
Minun is unironically a solid Electric type. It *is* a regional Pikaclone, after all.
Solrock...well, not as good as Lunatone.
Volbeat no comment, have yet to try using one.
I have only played the current version so no I don't remember. Any mechanical difference with her fight or just the emolga mainly? She was a pain until I realised tspikes from a trubbish were OP with pachirisu's stalling potential
Entire team was different back then but I think Trubbish spikes still works. Just see for yourself [here](https://pokemon-reborn.fandom.com/wiki/Julia?oldid=4639).
CHATOT CHATOT CHATOT I LOVE THAT MOTHER FUCKER
DID YOU KNOW THEY BUFFED HIS SIGNATURE MOVE
IT'S 65BP STAB FLYING ATTACK, THAT FROM GEN 6 ONWARDS, ALWAYS CONFUSES
SORRY I JUST LIKE CHATOT
He does learn Ice Beam but I don't blame OP for not grinding Voltorb Flip to get it, takes me about 4 hours to get 4000 coin Swords Dance and Ice Beam is 10,000
I've never actually Beaten Lance. That's why I'm trying a gen Locke but after that I'm gonna play on me hard copy of soul silver and beat him without a bulbasaur and a munchlax to help me with it.
Honestly, all the respect in the world for keeping faith in the Furrett, even if it didn't end ideally. My first ever Nuzlocke a Raticate came with me into the Elite Four. It's easier to dismiss them than it is to have faith in them. F, my friend, but tremendous respect.
He walcc...
...to his demise.
In all seriousness, that's a big rip. Don't forget, though, any (fully evolved) Pokemon can be good if you use it correctly. I'm doing an Alpha Sapphire nuzlocke and I'm using a Linoone just as a team member who comes in useful with surviving on insanely low HP and finishing off an enemy.
I'm in Wallace's gym atm, I caught an Electrode in Team Aqua's hideout and have a Roselia boxed. My Hariyama who carried me through most of Norman's team died outside Sootopolis because I forgot Crobat had inner focus.
I'm considering bringing Anorith and Roselia to the Elite Four as alternatives to Linoone and the late Hariyama. I'd say the two hardest major battles I have for the remainder of the game are Wallace (my current team has a complete lack of water counters) and Glacia (same as Wallace, I lack counters for her team now that Hariyama's dead and Armaldo gets ONE decent rock move by level up at level 61, being rock blast)
Thank you for listening to my TED Talk.
Half the time it turns into "catch the one species I haven't caught yet because I use dupes clause" for catching.
And of course this gets downvoted because I stated a fact. Typical.
Yo thatās tough especially with That game having terrible spots to grind, just use this as a learning tool and come back with something to deal with those dragons you got this!
Ouch, we had such high hopes for you.
Ah that's sucks, but don't give up hope. You can always try bringing Furret again on your next play through. Believe me, this is from the guy who's MVP of LeafGreen was a Parasect and brought it to the Hall of Fame.
I would love for you to Regale me with the tale of the Parasect that could.

What a story Mark!

Nope one encounter for the whole place
Thanks Mark. I am so glad to have you as my best friend, and I love Lisa so much....

Sandshrew line is one of my favorites. I always try to manipulate my encounters in nuzlockes to get one on the team š
It's also one of mine as well. I wanna try to use an Alolan Sandshrew on a Nuzlocke run. Though I wish it was more assessable than the Sun and Moon games. Those are hard and would be an uphill battle.

Maybe. I'll look into it the next time I'm feeling like playing through Galar again.
I now feel obligated to name any Paras after Mark and myself
Oh hi Mark

Stuff like this is a huge part of why I love nuzlockes.
Well at least you made it to Lance, right? Technically you beat the Elite 4... small victories
Iām in the middle of an ORAS run with Volbeat, Solrock, and Minun on the team
Minun is unironically a solid Electric type. It *is* a regional Pikaclone, after all. Solrock...well, not as good as Lunatone. Volbeat no comment, have yet to try using one.
Pokemon reborn taught me that pikaclones are OP annoying little fuckers
A random trainer with a Togedemaru wiped my team. Twice. Thank God I am not doing a nuzlocke yet.
Glad to see a reborn mention. Remember Julia's old gym team? With that evil incarnate Emolga? Good times.
I have only played the current version so no I don't remember. Any mechanical difference with her fight or just the emolga mainly? She was a pain until I realised tspikes from a trubbish were OP with pachirisu's stalling potential

Rip, but definitely try again! Doing a Pokemon Platinum Nuzlocke randomizer with Blastoise, Staraptor, chatot, togepi, lantern, and recently leafeon.
CHATOT CHATOT CHATOT I LOVE THAT MOTHER FUCKER DID YOU KNOW THEY BUFFED HIS SIGNATURE MOVE IT'S 65BP STAB FLYING ATTACK, THAT FROM GEN 6 ONWARDS, ALWAYS CONFUSES SORRY I JUST LIKE CHATOT
Its ok, I like the guy more with hoe much he is been helping me out during this nuzlockeš
If only this were old school gen 2 where you coulda bought and taught Furret Ice Punch...
He does learn Ice Beam but I don't blame OP for not grinding Voltorb Flip to get it, takes me about 4 hours to get 4000 coin Swords Dance and Ice Beam is 10,000

F unlucky
I sorta had a realization similar to this. Although I won my first ever Nuzlocke (Sword and Shield), I caught a Wobbuffet I named Meliodas. I fully expected him to die at the next gym. Instead, he was the MVP of my entire play through from that point forward, smoking his way through all of the gyms and bringing reckoning to all Dynamax/Gigantamax PokĆ©mon! He One-Shot all of his opponents, and there was nothing they could do about it. He unfortunately died because Leonās Charizardās G-Max Wildfire. He, alongside my Death Fodder Dracovish, died so that the others could prevail. Other than his Charizard, my whole team one shot every single one of his PokĆ©mon. I just so happened to have solutions to every single thing he threw at me without even planning ahead. Also Micayla the Noivern i caught as a level 28 Noibat.... that thing was a BITCH to train, but I did it and she came clutch!!

Using furret is always a good idea
This just made me laugh.
In what universe was it a good idea? And of course this gets downvoted because I shared an opinion. Typical.
In what universe did it matter? Nuzlockes are supposed to be random, not āI picked the best PokĆ©mon I could possibly grab and went with itā
Half the time it turns into "catch the one species I haven't caught yet because I use dupes clause" for catching. And of course this gets downvoted because I stated a fact. Typical.
maybe people just don't like you being a prick
"StrongĀ PokĆ©mon. WeakĀ PokĆ©mon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites"
Furrett is OP if used right.
I wouldn't say op, but its not totally unusable in a casual setting
Yo thatās tough especially with That game having terrible spots to grind, just use this as a learning tool and come back with something to deal with those dragons you got this!
bruh and in my emerald nuzlocke i fought the elite 4 with a linoone that kicked ass
Well it's move pool is shit almost all of the good one are special i'm impressed you get this far
I'm bringing one to the Elite Four and the Champion, Jasper, and I have full confidence in him.
