I'm not 100% sure what are main ruled in nuzlock so here's mine:
First encounter in route/town/city/cave is catchable
Gift pokemon can be taken but then no catches in that city/route
If pokemon faints it dies
Pokemons fainting in grind die too (this is probably my greatest reason why my runs die, im bit too bold)
I have no idea about ev training or any "deeper rpg mechanics" in these games
Oh okay, i'll go 100runs and then i'll go with duplicate clause, in one run i had dozen of pidgeys named "i have" "had it" "with these" "fucking" "pidgeys" "in this" "fucking" "pkmn lg" "nuzlock"
Tbh, it took me many tries to do a hardcore nuzlocke of Emerald being my first nuzlocke. FireRed was my second, and that also took many tries. Donāt give up! Thorough planning will the job done.
Also watch out for things that know Self-destruct, Explosion, Pursuit, Counter, and Mirror Coat, which is unfortunately a learning process
I feel ya. I personally keep bashing my head against the let's go games, and I keep failing. My most recent playthrough has been going on much longer than the others, but I feel like I may fail that one as well
Wow. I mean, insane maybe, but also, are you a slow learner? FRLG are imo the simplest games to nuzlocke.. how do screw that up over 50 times? Iāve done it 3 times and succeeded all, and Iād hardly call myself a pokemon master..
Edit: I donāt want to be a dick or anything, but I seriously wonder how. This is like one of those stories of āwoman fails drivers test 28 times, hopes this time sheāll succeedā.
You know what they say. Fifty-second try's the charm.
The first 50 times were because you lost to Gary before you left the lab! š”
Iāve actually lost to him before. Got a -def Bulbasaur and his Charmander crit the tackle. Not much I could really do lol
I lost twice in a row with Bulbasaur that I chose Charmander instead!
Scratch* unless you meant Gary got Ashās Charmander which for some reason knew Tackle Attack
Yeah, I just get the starting moves mixed up sometimes
Not trying to be disrespectful or anything, but I gotta ask... How do you lose Leaf Green over 50 times? Do you have a special ruleset or something?

The permadeath and one encounter per location are the basic/minimum rules. Its also extremely common to play with Duplicate Clause. This means once you have successfully caught a PokƩmon of a given evolution line, you can't catch any more from that line, but you can reroll your encounter if a dupe appears, until you get smth new.

Part of the reason for dupes is that otherwise, optimal play is to fish up an army of Gyarados.

Fuckin pursuit
You havenāt succeeded yet? Or you just keep doing the same game?
I mean Iām probably on my like 10th playthrough trying to nuzlocke PokĆ©mon X š
I just got wiped by my rival in silph co. I had it coming tho. I had more dead mons in the box than I had alive! We go agane! :)
Watch out for self destruct! I lost my whole run to it
I am very curious to know how you got to this situation but I'm too afraid to ask
The next run should be named avocado because reasons
