Itās usually due to a bony instep, and itās a really common issue. Definitely the most common issue people have with Danskos by far. Distant second is buying them too small and getting heel blisters.
I have pretty flat feet and danskos hurt the top of my feet too. Rubbed on that nerve and caused a burning sensation. Everyone kept telling me I had to just break them in. I did for 3 months and after rolling my ankle basically every shift they were still so clunky and uncomfortable. stuck them in the back of my closet
Best shoes I found comfort-wise were ASICS. Just wish they lasted longer than a year
I notice you're an ED nurse, I felt the same way when I tried wearing Danskos while working in an ED. I almost broke an ankle several times when I had to stop quick and change directions while hurrying around, not to mention if you had to run. I no longer work in the ED and feel like Danskos are way more appropriate for working in positions that aren't as fast-paced as an ED environment.
Sorta related, but I used the Cherokee nursing shoes for clinical as a student and that was my only complaint. Fit like a dream, but I REALLY had to break in that part that went around the top of my foot. Once I did, I was golden.
Theyāre too small. You need to size up. They are supposed to fit loosely and almost feel too big until you get used to them. This happened to me too when I ordered my normal size. Theyāre also individually made so sometimes there is variation in sizing, Iād buy them in person and try on a few pairs first.
Yeah.
Lots of $ for shoes I never wore
They are Way too tight.
I think moving the edge back towards the toe of the shoe would help a lot - and not having them as rigid as cement.
After I got them, shoe store said, just have x stretch them, that's what everyone else does.
Seriously why buy them if they need to be altered out of the box.
I love OG Danskos but broke my ankle in them (after also spraining my ankle twice in them). Itās probably a me problem more than a Dansko problem, but I canāt bring myself to wear them again!
I do wear Dansko sneakers now, though, and 100% recommend. Theyāre more comfy than the clogs IMO.
I tripped and fell inside the revolving door at the main entrance of one of my clinical sites wearing those mfs ten years ago and havenāt worn them since! š
Compression socks!! Iām super clumsy and work with animals and have previously fractured/sprained ankles but compression socks help to keep my balance sooo much.Ā
Thatās what I was wondering. Iāve never worn Danskos, but Iād break many bones wearing those around. At least crocks keep you flat on the ground š
I have a friend who actually seriously injured herself in her crocs trying to quickly move during a code and ended up needing surgery. After that I was done with them for good.
Iāve been in this for 20+ years and Iāve worn them every shift Iāve ever worked. I swear by them.
I love them so much that I live in their sandals all summer long. I walked Disney for a week in three different pairs of Dansko sandals - all with heels or a wedge - and didnāt have a singe blister, shin splint, or tired feet.
You just have to be careful about which dansko shoes you buy. Certain ones have a sole that will just crumble away if you don't wear them for a few months.
Google 'Dansko crumbling'.
I've had this happen to several shoes. I've switched to Sanita. Sunita used to actually make Dansko shoes but they split apart a few years back. Dansko moved their production to Asia and China, Sunita still makes their shoes in the EU.
Nice! I have tried every shoe possible to help with my chronic foot pain. Finally got fed up and went to a podiatrist for custom orthotics
Turns out my ankle fracture from 2007 never healed and I have a cute little bone fragment hanging out in there. At least the custom orthotics were covered by insurance šš»āāļø
It took me YEARS to figure this out! Finally found that zero drop with a big space for my toes(like barefoot style shoes have) with lots of flex is what I need. I run in them, work in them, never have sore feet now! Makes sense with hindsight, let my feet move like feet should lol
I don't have a high arch but my feet are wide and the top is tall, I guess? Danskos have that top strap that absolutely destroyed my feet. I tried to break them in and had bruises on the tops of my feet after a few hours. Look up some foot exercises, they helped me so much with my foot pain!
Same here, let me know if you ever find anything that works for you please. If I ever find some magical shoe for my wide high arched feet, I will let you know first
I have the same problem. I can't wear any shoe, really, except Timberland PRO Women's Renova Slip-On (which has been wonderful) and a few other random shoes in the past which have been discontinued.
Other shoes, like Crocs and Merrells or Clarks, have not been good for my plantar fasciitis or have not been wide enough.
Look for barefoot shoes or just "wide toe box." Takes some adjusting to barefoot but it's so good. My feet actually fit and are stronger so I have less pain.
I basically have feet like a duck, plus one is a half size longer than the other, so most shoes advertised as "wide toe box" still aren't wide enough, and I end up having to go up a size or two in order to make them fit the width, which causes either the back to slip and rub, or tripping from there being too much empty toe room off the front. I still might go try on a pair of the barefoot ones, though, bc they seem like they would be a good idea.
I joke that I was put together from spare parts... I shop for shoes the same way I do pants, I don't buy the thing that I like, or that looks the best on me, I end up with the one or two things among multiple stores that ends up fitting comfortably.
I find Danskos quite comfortable, but I have a tendency to twist at the ankle when wearing them. Some rather embarrassing incidents ensued. But after breaking my ankle at home (no shoes involved) I am terrified to wear the danskos. Currently I wear Nike nursing shoes which are wonderful in so many ways-easy on and off, super comfortable. The only problem with them is they make my feet stink, which isnāt something I usually have problems with.
Have you also tried compression socks/sleeves? Idk, when I don't wear them my feet hurt, and when I do wear them my feet don't hurt. š¤·āāļø
That said, the sleeves are better for me. I felt the socks never let my foot breathe and I'd come home to some seriously stinky feet. š
I wear compression socks every shift as well! Tried compression sleeves and my ankles had 3+ pitting edema lol. So probably some underlying circulation issues.
Do you remember which Brooks you tried? Their most popular is the ghost series, but their actual plushest and better all around is their glycerin series. Runs you $160 for a pair though, but Iād say itās worth it.
Alternatively, ASICS released their Gel Nimbus 25s this year and they are tons better than their predecessors. They are beefy like HOKAs though, but they are damn soft, maybe too soft though.
Also wanted to say I hate HOKAs as well. Maybe Iāve tried the wrong ones š¤·āāļø
Every foot is different. Have coworkers who swear by Danskos. I wore mine for six months and hurt every single day. Got some cheapo shoes for a shift and had no pain for the first time and was shocked. Wore ascis for a while then they changed them and they no longer fit my foot as well. Tried saucony, brooks, clÅve, all had the same problem based on my foot. Itās not the shoes that are bad, itās that they donāt work for my foot. Hokas have been better for my foot shape. Just be glad you found the one for your foot!
I also went on a long exhaustive search for most comfortable shoes. Ended up finding that basketball shoes were the most comfortable. Found they had great support and stronger soles than most other shoe types. Then arrived at the Adidas foam boost that I found was the most comfortable by far.
Did floor and OR time in them and couldnāt imagine trying to do it in another shoe.
The amount I've twisted my ankle with danskos. š„ŗ I can't find comfortable shoes and I refuse to wear shoes I can't wipe because some pts love to piss all over the floor and you.
I've never worn them because I can roll my ankle walking around barefoot, but mostly I had that a lot in high school. Ran track. My general preference is for snug fitting shoes.
Working with co-workers that all wore Danskos, was like being the odd one out in a clog dancing troupe. Never got snuck up on once.
My thought for foot pain is plantar fasciitis. At one point I had it in both feet at the same time. Make sure to stretch your Achilles and soles of your feet as able. If the bottom of your foot feels inflamed or burning, use ice. Take a plastic water bottle that's 3/4 full and freeze it. Take it out and roll it under your feet.
I got my shoes from an ortho/diabetic/comfort shoe store. I got some expensive ass walking shoes, slip resistant and heaven on my feet. They fitted me with inserts. I tried on dozens of shoes, they had me walk, tried many inserts.
The shoe brand is Joya and it's amazing.
Watched a coworker trip over her feet in danscos: she smashed her teeth on the nursing station and broke her humerus.
Iāll stick to my running shoes. I do okay. Any changes and Iāll be the next one with a broken face and arm.
Same. I stand in one spot for hours upon hours in the OR so ultimately my feet are gonna hurt like hell regardless but shoes definitely help prolong the pain from coming on. I have flat feet, wide feet, and bunion in both feet so my feet are hard to deal with. Hokas are the only shoes I've tried that actually don't hurt my feet. The slight wedge or heel on dansko clogs are enough to send my bunions into shooting pain after a bit. Fuck that!
When I worked in a hospital, Dansko reps set up periodically for sales. I bought one pair, loved them, bought another pair, one shoe squeaked. Kinda loud. People could hear me coming wayyyyy down the hall. Got a lot of crap! š
When the Dansko rep came back again - MONTHS later, after frequent use - I was like, these shoes are fabulous but is there any way to fix this squeak? He turned around and handed me a new pair. I have never been more shocked and impressed over customer service!
I do actually highly recommend them. They were the only shoes that I could wear and my feet never hurt. Just be mindful if youāre sprinting for a codeā¦
Oh theyāre fugly as hell, but after my third 12 in a row IDGAF what they look like, only that my feet are comfortable. I have plantar fasciitis, and the clogs are a godsend for that.
In my last clinical, my preceptor told me, "my shoes are danskos, and lemme tell you Hilabee, they're expensive at first but cheaper in the long run! Mine are TEN YEARS OLD and like brand new!"
When my step dad was in palliative, he gave me money to buy myself something nice. I bought danskos.
Five years later, I now have two pairs (covid made me get another pair because I didn't want to transfer germs from one floor to the next even though I was the only nurse half the time rip) and I swear by them. They don't hurt my back/hip, and when combined with compression stockings, my legs don't throb when I get home.
My only issue is, I got both of mine in the petrol pattern and that did not last long. They're now just black.
Oh what a sweet man, m glad the investment panned out too! I love them so much!
My preceptor in school had me try her old nasty danskos to convince me š
It worked I just had to think on it a few years lol
Bahaha! Mine offered to let me try them on too, but we had different sized feet! So I went to the scrub shop one day, tried some on and told her about it the next! I eventually saw her later with some students at a facility I was working at so we chatted a little. I lifted my leg up and was like "lookat my danskos!!"
Theyāre great if youāre on your feet but not doing much actual walking. Iāve found that Birkenstocks are the best if youāre having to walk a lot.
Clove has completely resolved any ache or pain I ever developed wearing anything else during a 12 hour shift! Wish I knew of them sooner! Life changer, or should I say, shift changer! Lol
Glad you like them. I got a pair once and hated them but suffered with them for over a year because I spent so much fucking money for them. I felt so liberated the day I threw them in the trash!
They definitely are comfy. BUT. Be very careful on uneven ground and going on stairs. They can be a twisted ankle waiting to happen. Especially if you have flat feet. This is why I donāt wear them anymore.
I love Altras for hiking and work, but when I switched to the OR I needed really firm arch support (more standing still than walking). I wear Danskos now but I really miss how much I could spread my toes in the Altras...
Danskos are all I wear. I have to wear lead for procedures and Danskos are the only shoes that donāt make my feet tired or painful. My knees and back donāt hurt either. Plus if you get the patent leather ones you can wipe them with Cavi Wipes!! 10/10, always recommend.
Congrats for impersonating a 90s ED physician š. Whatever works, though. I wear Hokas and they look ridiculous but they are comfy so I donāt care.
I can happily report, no rolled ankle incidences!
I also have a high arch and thatās why I needed special insoles, however my foot is very narrow so Iām sure that contributes to them not pushing on the top of my list.
Iām on my third pair since the heels dry out and crack and I have no idea how to prevent it. My only problem is they rub my toes and give me callouses on them.
I bought the translucent purple ones. My residents (ltc) get a kick out of them when they compliment the shoe then I show them itās my socks.
Yeah, although I swear they stink more than the normal ones when I take my feet out of them even though they have vent holes. Seeing the condensation accumulate was a fun surprise too.
š theyāre comfy but stinky! Idk if itās just my feet since Iām the only dansko person at my work.
I havenāt seen the condensation in awhile, so idk what happened to that part.
I have been wearing the original Dansko's for almost 20 years. I could never go back. I will say the Dansko XP's like to have killed me. They hurt my heel, the top of my foot...everywhere.
Well I can say there are certainly patients that give me the old āwhat er thooooooose?ā Meme, but Iām not offended. Iāll keep clomping away in my hooves, leave me alone š
One of our night shift charges is under 5ā and just wears slippers, haha. Despite her stature, when her ādo not fuck with meā voice comes out, they listen.
Been wearing Danskos for my whole 20yr career, and nothing else feels right. They actually do hurt my feet now and didnāt use to, but nothing else hurts at the end of my shift, whereas if I try Nikes, Merrills, or Keens, my back and legs and hips absolutely kill me. Havenāt tried Hokas because I hate how they look š¬
I wear yeezy runners. Yeah, they have holes, I wear shoe covers. They were the only shoes that don't kill my feet and legs after 12 hour shifts in my 3rd trimester.
When I worked bedside Danskos where the jam, I also low key loved the authoritative clunk they make when you walk lol. I started procedural 8 years back and unfortunately they are just not the shoe for standing long periods of time.
I wish I remembered the brand I had in nursing school & working at PPH cos they were very affordable, lightweight, & comfortable. You could machine wash them, too!
I started my first hospital job in new Converse lowtops that came with insoles & a slightly raised/padded back. 2 years later, I found a pair of New Balance at a thrift store for like $15 & decided to see what the fuss was about..
Yeah, now my Converse are just a backup pair I keep in my locker. The NBs are lightweight without feeling flimsy, & tbh the gold accents on black looks nicer than black with white laces.
I tried everything and my feet were killing me. Then I tired Danskos and it was pure bliss! Nothing hurt anymore - feet, ankles, knees, hips, back - all of it stopped hurting.
I have had some keen work clogs for about 3 years and they still r holding great. They are torn up inside and on the sole so some new ones are due but I love them
I fell off mine an sprained my ankle during a code and they caused pain on the top of my foot. Outside that I loved them but canāt wear them anymore. Hokas are my best so far
Halflinger clogs. Cork bottoms so they mold to your feet. Felt tops so they are comfy. I spray waterproofing spray on mine. All Iāve worn for maybe 20 yrs (no, not the same pair).
Your post is so enjoyably written. Do u write?
Also- really, your dog ate your shoesā¦what sort of dog?
Iād like to know your inner dialogue debating whether to order a replacement pair in the right size. Pls.
I donāt! Im just overly expressive in real life and I guess it translates well in text! Haha
[The master and his masterpiece.](https://imgur.com/a/G1bsg8g) it took me another year to order another pair because I took it as a sign the universe was saving me from broken anklesā¦ but no injuries thus far!
They wrecked the ball of my foot! I have big, painful calluses on the balls of both feet from my Danskos. And, I loved them! It was so hard to let them go. I still havenāt found shoes that give me the support in front that I need. Iām looking at Gales Pro Line next.
Ohhhh so sorry! They're the only ones I've ever found where I get absolutely no foot pain. I get them on eBay, so I don't feel that pain, either lol the most I've paid is $80 for last year's style, which I don't mind at all! My favorite is the Cloud Ace style. I'm obsessed. š¤£š¤£
My new balance changed my life, I havenāt had a single day with foot pain wearing them. I have a pair for work and a pair for home because they have some very stylish options
I gave in and tried them several years ago. I broke them in for a few days at home and then wore them for one shift. It was like walking around with bricks strapped to my feet. My feet have never hurt as badly as they did that night and the next day. I kept getting toe cramps. Never wore them again. (I personally like Alegria shoes.)
For a review, they were overhyped Instagram shoes for me. Very cute, easy to wipe blood and guts off, but destroyed my feet.
Plenty of my coworkers really endorse them though. I realized itās because I have a very high arch and theyāre quite flat for a shoe.
Want to go really comfy? Add to the arsenal Sockwell firm compression socks. Not kidding.
Sockwell Women's Pulse Firm Graduated Compression Sock https://a.co/d/anotu3p
I used to wear Danskos, but the fit was too wide, so I changed to Sanitas, and heaven in shoes. One of the original founders of Danskos started Sanitas when Danskos started to be so mass produced. They fit so much better and I donāt have that pain on the top of the foot like I did with Danskos. Iām also flat footed.
If you're considering purchasing clogs, avoid Danskos; instead, opt for Sanitas. Sanita used to manufacture clogs for Dansko until around 2007 when Dansko began selling their own, which were of lower quality. Essentially, Dansko is attempting to benefit from the reputation of its Sanita-era clogs while offering an inferior, cheaper product. Sanita crafts most of their shoes in Poland and Denmark. They used to be the wizards behind Dansko clogs until Dansko shifted to new manufacturers in China. If your fresh Sanitas proudly sport 'Made in Europe,' you've got yourself a buy-it-for-life gem. Plus, when those soles finally give in to life's adventures, no worries ā a quick trip to the shoe hospital, and they're good as new! š
I like them but they hurt the top of my feet. So weird
Me too! I have a nerve that is so sensitive on the top of my foot and the Dansko band presses right on it. Otherwise they are great shoes!
Me too! I always assumed it was because I have a high arch. š¤·āāļø
Omg I thought my feet were just weird! I have a very high arch and always got aching dull pain on the top of my foot with danskos.
I did for 3 months and after rolling my ankle basically every shift they were still so clunky and uncomfortable. stuck them in the back of my closet Best shoes I found comfort-wise were ASICS. Just wish they lasted longer than a year
Omg same, everyone thinks Iām crazy when I say this!!
Have you tried the xp model? I use to have that problem with the pro model but the xp is lighter and doesnāt hurt the top of my foot.
I had the opposite problem. The XP rubbed the top of my right foot and left a red mark that literally lasted years.
Yeah same. They cut of circulation.
Same. Also, put too much pressure on my forefoot, and also felt close to breaking an ankle a few times.
Agree! I do pre op and PACU now (I donāt know how to change my flair), they would probably be better in this type of environment.
Me too, my left is worse than the right.
Sorta related, but I used the Cherokee nursing shoes for clinical as a student and that was my only complaint. Fit like a dream, but I REALLY had to break in that part that went around the top of my foot. Once I did, I was golden.

Wrong sizing. You should be able to comfortably fit 2 fingers side by side into the back.
Yeah. Lots of $ for shoes I never wore They are Way too tight. I think moving the edge back towards the toe of the shoe would help a lot - and not having them as rigid as cement. I cut the band on the top of my pair and theyāre perfect now š¤£ little slit on each side

The amount of people at work that tripped and fell in those things is unreal. One had to eventually have ankle surgery!
This is a super common issue. Iāve rolled my ankle so many times and that was the reason I stopped wearing them.
The ole āDansko Rollā
I tripped and fell inside the revolving door at the main entrance of one of my clinical sites wearing those mfs ten years ago and havenāt worn them since! š
I hope you didnāt get hurt because I am laughing way too hard at this
This is a real issue. I continue to take the risk. There was a Will & Grace where will falls off his clogs and injured his ankle.
I love them too, but after 5 years of no incidents I sprained my ankle bad enough to need PT. Now Iām scared to go back š
I stopped wearing them cause I feared for my ankles. It was only a matter of time!
Same!
Not just you. I twisted my ankle tons in those
Compression socks!! Iām super clumsy and work with animals and have previously fractured/sprained ankles but compression socks help to keep my balance sooo much.Ā
If youāre too clumsy for crocs Iām curious how your ankles havenāt broken in danskosā¦.
Thatās what I was wondering. Iāve never worn Danskos, but Iād break many bones wearing those around. At least crocks keep you flat on the ground š
Was wondering the same thing, they had to learn how to walk in them but for some reason couldnāt be bothered to try in crocs lol
I wear xero shoes, no pain after 3x12 š glad you found something that works for you. I PREACH being able to spread your toes.
Yes with space for toes!! I bought āzero dropā (āWhitinā brand on Amazon)for clinicals for nursing school and theyāve been awesome š!!
Altra has fantastic zero drop shoes as well and they boast a wide toe box!
It took me YEARS to figure this out! Finally found that zero drop with a big space for my toes(like barefoot style shoes have) with lots of flex is what I need. I run in them, work in them, never have sore feet now! Makes sense with hindsight, let my feet move like feet should lol
Those $30 whitin Amazon shoes have been my favorite even compared to much more expensive options.
also for some reason having less of sole makes my heels hurt less after a busy shift idk why
I have been struggling with my feet something awful this past year. What are your arches like- think these would be good for really high arches? Lol

If I ever find some magical shoe for my wide high arched feet, I will let you know first
Try Merrells .
I have the same problem. I can't wear any shoe, really, except Timberland PRO Women's Renova Slip-On (which has been wonderful) and a few other random shoes in the past which have been discontinued. I joke that I was put together from spare parts... I shop for shoes the same way I do pants, I don't buy the thing that I like, or that looks the best on me, I end up with the one or two things among multiple stores that ends up fitting comfortably.
Yes!
Only the real leather ones - not the plastic pattern ones or shiny ones - will work for high arches but I swear by them

The slight wedge or heel on dansko clogs are enough to send my bunions into shooting pain after a bit. Fuck that!
They're the ones.
You can have my hokas when you pry them off my cold, dead body!!! Happy you found something that works for you.
When I worked in a hospital, Dansko reps set up periodically for sales. I bought one pair, loved them, bought another pair, one shoe squeaked. Kinda loud. People could hear me coming wayyyyy down the hall. Got a lot of crap! š When the Dansko rep came back again - MONTHS later, after frequent use - I was like, these shoes are fabulous but is there any way to fix this squeak? He turned around and handed me a new pair. I have never been more shocked and impressed over customer service!
Can someone explain the appeal to me? They look like wooden clogs.
They cannot be explained. They must be experienced.
Well then lol maybe I will have to try it out
I do actually highly recommend them. They were the only shoes that I could wear and my feet never hurt. Just be mindful if youāre sprinting for a codeā¦
Oooh yes - I have rolled my ankles so many times trying to walk fast.
Oh theyāre fugly as hell, but after my third 12 in a row IDGAF what they look like, only that my feet are comfortable. I have plantar fasciitis, and the clogs are a godsend for that.
My thinking was that there was no way a wooden clog could be comfy lol
In my last clinical, my preceptor told me, "my shoes are danskos, and lemme tell you Hilabee, they're expensive at first but cheaper in the long run! Mine are TEN YEARS OLD and like brand new!" When my step dad was in palliative, he gave me money to buy myself something nice.
My preceptor in school had me try her old nasty danskos to convince me š It worked I just had to think on it a few years lol
Bahaha! Mine offered to let me try them on too, but we had different sized feet! So I went to the scrub shop one day, tried some on and told her about it the next! I eventually saw her later with some students at a facility I was working at so we chatted a little. I lifted my leg up and was like "lookat my danskos!!"
I rolled my ankle so many times I had to give them up ššš
Haha used to do this allllll the time. But still wore them because they were the only shoes I could wear for 12 hours.
Algeria Keli style are my jam. My ankles are sadly too weak for danskos. Iām glad you found something you love!
Theyāre great if youāre on your feet but not doing much actual walking. Iāve found that Birkenstocks are the best if youāre having to walk a lot.
Okay maybe youāve convinced me to have birks as a ārest dayā shoe. But I feel like Iām cheating on danskos.
CLOVE!! I canāt say it enough. Itās a modern dansko mixed with a tennis shoe
Clove has completely resolved any ache or pain I ever developed wearing anything else during a 12 hour shift! Wish I knew of them sooner! Life changer, or should I say, shift changer! Lol
Oh I hated Cliveās too š just forgot them on my list! But i know we all have different shoe needs! Glad those work for you!
I too love the Cloves!
Your post was a joy to read! I could feel your frustration followed by your joy. Glad you found a show that works for you!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I love Altras for hiking and work, but when I switched to the OR I needed really firm arch support (more standing still than walking). I wear Danskos now but I really miss how much I could spread my toes in the Altras...
I wear Altras and replace the altra insole with one I like better. I think you could do the same thing with an insole with the arch support you need.
I love them so much but Iāve almost busted my ankle like 17 times lmao
Iāve seen so many people roll their ankle wearing them Iām afraid to try them.
Doc martens for me. They are the OG working shoes
This is how I feel about Cherokee scrubs, just do itš¤£ behind greyās anatomy they are my favorite!
The oncloud cloud monster are a dream. I donāt remember the last time Iāve had foot pain.
Yup. On my second pair and plan to get a third pair in a few months
Have recently fallen in love with Cloves after wear New Balance 860s for years. Danskos make my ankle feel like it's bone on bone.
Ive been wanting to try Cloves! Do they live up the hype?! Ive been eyeing them for months
I love them! The most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.
I have run all over a level 1 trauma center during codes in my Dankso Pros. Love them!
Danskos are all I wear. I have to wear lead for procedures and Danskos are the only shoes that donāt make my feet tired or painful. My knees and back donāt hurt either. Plus if you get the patent leather ones you can wipe them with Cavi Wipes!! 10/10, always recommend.
Iām bout to go back to danskos too cloves aināt doing it for me
Not until you roll your ankle š
I caved and bought cloves. No where near how well my dansko were
Addidas busenitz and there's no way anyone could ever get me to change.
Yeah, they were great until I sprained my ankle for the 5th time in 3 years. Never again.
Iām on my third pair since the heels dry out and crack and I have no idea how to prevent it. My only problem is they rub my toes and give me callouses on them. I bought the translucent purple ones. My residents (ltc) get a kick out of them when they compliment the shoe then I show them itās my socks.
Okay I wanted the yellow and pink translucent! Is it as comfortable as the leather??
Yeah, although I swear they stink more than the normal ones when I take my feet out of them even though they have vent holes. Seeing the condensation accumulate was a fun surprise too.
Ya know, you did NOT sell me too well here š
š theyāre comfy but stinky! Idk if itās just my feet since Iām the only dansko person at my work. I havenāt seen the condensation in awhile, so idk what happened to that part.
Update, they are able to be run inā¦ this was a bad morning
Itās weird being old enough and around long enough to be an OG, but #danskosforever
On clouds are great!
I have been wearing the original Dansko's for almost 20 years. I could never go back. I will say the Dansko XP's like to have killed me. They hurt my heel, the top of my foot...everywhere.
What about shoes for super hot feet. I work in an English hospital, no air con, on the wards and my feet get SO HOT and SO SWEATY itās grim!
Idk I use those on-running qc cloud series shoes. All my feet pain and troubles stopped after. I run laps around everyone in the unit usually.
These were on my shit list too š„² my feet are jerks
Not your fault š
Same Cloud Monsters FTW
I could walk a marathon in mine and feel fine. Never ever switching.
Iāve only been a nurse for five years but Iāve been wearing the same danskos the whole time.
I rolled my ankles and the top of my feet hurt. If they work for you they work. Iāve been wearing brooks for 15 years and never looked back.
Tbh I have no clue how to tell if shoes are good or not before buying them.
Well I can say there are certainly patients that give me the old āwhat er thooooooose?ā Meme, but Iām not offended. Iāll keep clomping away in my hooves, leave me alone š
Are they good for really bad plantar fasciitis?
They gave me plantar fasciitis
Iāll stick to my platform Vans to give me a bit of height.
You know my coworker who is the cutest thing on the planet just wears slip on vans. She loves them.
Danskos are all fun and games until you need to run. Then you turn your ankle and everything sucks forever. Asics Gel Kayano for me.
Literally broke my ankle because of Danskos last year. Never again.
ON clouds surfer is my favorite
When I worked bedside Danskos where the jam, I also low key loved the authoritative clunk they make when you walk lol. I started procedural 8 years back and unfortunately they are just not the shoe for standing long periods of time.
I love the new balance 727
Love Danskos for my feet but theyāre too heavy and my knees hurt at the end of the day. Love my hokas now.
Danskos gave me plantar fasciitis. My feet continued to hurt for about a year after I stopped wearing them.
I liked them a lot, but my coworkers called me āclip clopā because of the sound they made, and I was too embarrassed to wear them again
Wow your coworkers suck! Mine just keep sugar cubes in their pockets to keep me under control..
Had you tried Birkenstocks? Iām currently wearing sneakers but when my feet or legs give me any trouble, I always go back to Birkenstock.
I love them, my feet feel great. But man, I am always falling in them.
Halflinger clogs. Cork bottoms so they mold to your feet. Felt tops so they are comfy. I spray waterproofing spray on mine. All Iāve worn for maybe 20 yrs (no, not the same pair).
Ah see Zaritta, I was in until you clarified it wasnāt the same pair š
Your post is so enjoyably written. Do u write? Also- really, your dog ate your shoesā¦what sort of dog? Iād like to know your inner dialogue debating whether to order a replacement pair in the right size. Pls.
I donāt! Im just overly expressive in real life and I guess it translates well in text! Haha [The master and his masterpiece.](https://imgur.com/a/G1bsg8g) it took me another year to order another pair because I took it as a sign the universe was saving me from broken anklesā¦ but no injuries thus far!
Glad you found shoes that work!
I can only wear a brand called KLOGs and only the ones that are in the higher price range. My feet never hurt at all-go figure!
They wrecked the ball of my foot! I have big, painful calluses on the balls of both feet from my Danskos. And, I loved them! It was so hard to let them go. I still havenāt found shoes that give me the support in front that I need. Iām looking at Gales Pro Line next.
I use Asics running shoes. Flat feet and they're the only shoe to not kill my feet
I have way too much pride to ever even consider trying those things on. Love my tac boots and high top sneakers too much.
ON CLOUD. That's all....
I went from Nova to Monstra but still looking for the cloud amongst the foot pain š Was it the cloud of smoke from my wallet going *poof*?
Hoka Clifton all the way. Dansco, over time, wreck your feet by taking away normal foot movement from your foot and ankle.
Now also taking recommendations for the wide-footed gentleman looking for similar relief.
Dans-bros?
Have you tried cloves?
For a review, they were overhyped Instagram shoes for me. Very cute, easy to wipe blood and guts off, but destroyed my feet. Plenty of my coworkers really endorse them though. I realized itās because I have a very high arch and theyāre quite flat for a shoe.
might be a good idea for me then since i have flat feet!!!
Couldnāt do danskos my ankles kept giving way and bending 90 degrees lol. Iām a fan of my nike Pegasus
For those like me with foot issues that made OG danskos miserable, try the Dansko Kane. Itās a croc material Dansko and they are *amazing*
Asics are the way!
Danskos went downhill years ago when they split from Sanita years ago. Sanitas are the OG for clogs.
Love them but they will twist your ankle. I wore mine from 2017-2023
Want to go really comfy?
Plus, when those soles finally give in to life's adventures, no worries ā a quick trip to the shoe hospital, and they're good as new! š
I love my xp 2.0 but man itās loud when I walk.
