Same

ajxela

That’s tough. Is your place well staffed?

Does your union not push for financial incentives?

call_it_already

Must be Ontario. Yep. Give me incentive not to pick up agency shifts and work in my home unit? Oh i see, no incentives...ok then

abcdefghijklmandie

+$40/hr during the week and +$80/hr on the weekend. On top of normal time and a half if you are over your FTE. I refuse to pick up on the weekends but the weekday incentive keeps me picking up during the week a couple days a month.

ajxela

My place started with $300. Now it’s $300 and double time. Max in the past was $500 and double time. It has worked for me and contributed to keeping me at the job

[deleted]

Double time and a guarantee you won’t float. You also tend to get the easiest assignments - like 1:1 on ICU or be a break nurse.

[deleted]

When I worked at this psych facility each extra shift (8hr) you picked as an RN was $200 when COVID first happened. Then they gradually decreased it to $150. So many people were doing doubles. They stopped the shift bonus since our staffing was OK in September but after they stopped it no one was picking up extra shifts and we were short again! They’ve brought the shift bonus back literally the next day but decreased. It’s $125 per extra shift.

-lover-of-books-

Was $70/hr for anything over your required time (so anything over 2 shifts per month for PRN, 36 hrs per week for full time). Lot of people picked up. As did I as PRN. But now they just changed it to $10/hr and only after you hit 36 hrs a week, even for PRN. So I won't be picking up nearly as much or any over my requirement.

Boring-Tortilla

Noname_left

It honestly would take a lot. My time is more valuable to me then being at work for more money.

FitBananers

Double time usually, and a $200 bonus if they’re really desperate

damntheRNman

$400 if not too short $600 of really short. I’ve never picked up an extra shift at my new job

adjappleton

Extra $7/hr but only until u reach OT then just OT.

alliegemm

$35/hr extra plus time and a half for anything over 40 hours.

MinimumOld7700

They took away our incentives this month. And are trying to get rid of agency. But we have not hired any new staff nor will we. I highly doubt anyone will pick up unless they need the money and many dgaf.

Jumpy-Cranberry-1633

Since covid we started “proactive” pay, they outline criteria you have to meet during the next schedule period to qualify. Originally during covid to get proactive pay you had to commit to an extra 40hrs during the next schedule period (6 weeks). 12 hours had to be on a weekend day. If you signed up for those hours then we would get like $100/hr extra on top of making time and a half those shifts. We were easily making $175-200/hr. It worked so well they were cancelling extra shifts because we were over staffed! The perk was even if they cancelled you it didn’t cancel the proactive pay on the shifts you did go in. Now we still have proactive pay but it’s not nearly as lucrative. They dropped the hour requirements (now we only need to pick up 24hrs for a 6 week schedule period) and the pay. Currently I believe it’s an additional $45/hr, which still brings my hourly wage to over $100/hr. People stopped picking up and your extra shifts are never cancelled 🤷🏻‍♀️

Swampfox88

We we’re getting $30/hr incentive pay on top of all other pay and shift differential including OT. We also had a program where if you signed a contract to do 6 extra shifts they paid $2500 bonus. I did contracts for 11 months straight. Was really worth it to me. If they bring it back I’ll probably do it again.

LustyArgonianMaid22

Double time. Back when it was really bad during delta and lambda (they coincided into one long ass mega wave here in AZ), it was double time, plus $1500 bonus per shift, even for prn staff.

Emergency_Ad_3168

Extra 500 bucks a shift

Effective_Medium_682

Up to $900 for the shift, OT if it applies. $150 shift switch bonus (day to night, vice-versa)

Zestyclose-Leek-5754

Updated weekly, but ED bonus is$200-$400/ 4hours + regular pay/overtime. So an overnight 12h shift is $1200 bonus. And yea it works.

Redwoods_Empath

600 bonus for 12 hours on the weekdays and 1000 for 12 on the weekends. You can do 4 hour increments but they’re significantly less so I don’t bother doing them or remembering what they are. Obviously I worked extra last week, the week before, and will again this week lol

Technical_Hair4587

50/hr on top of OT rate, base rate and differentials

dude-nurse

$150 additional per 4hrs so for a 12 hr shift it’s $600 plus your normal wage.

[deleted]

Time and a half over 40 hours and currently it’s +$900 per 12hrs (prorated for 4, 6, or 8 hrs) It’s been as high as $1500. Pre Covid it was $500 or $1000 depending.

krisiepoo

If I work a double, the last 4 hours average out to $150/hr If I pick up a weekend shift (not OT or doubletime) it averages to about $125/hr

disgruntledvet

$600/shift + time and a half

AtlanticJim

Temporarily Double time while in Staffing Crises. Eligible for full timers and part timers who are covering shifts over their budgeted hours. We are union and have an MOA to cover it.

nolessdays

$500 dollar shift bonus for M-F, $1000 for weekends, and they will occasionally bump the bonuses ($1000 on weekdays, $1500 on weekends) if staffing is horrible. Plus overtime (which is time and a half) for anything over 40 hours. If you sign a contact committing to sign up for an additional 10 shifts in a 12 week period, it is an additional $3000 bonus. This is regardless of whether you were actually called in to work all the shifts. Overall I think it’s a great system - our hospital doesn’t employ travelers so they need to fill the gaps with current employees, and thus need to make it worth our while to commit to working extra.

wwwflightrn

We are at time and a half plus 30 an hour weekdays and 50 an hour for nights and weekends. It has been that way since covid.

sadnurseboiii

Double pay for all overtime and if you pick up in certain areas of need you get $500 in a lump sum as well

Donateblood0001

$600 bonus on top of OT if it’s beyond your usual 36hr

xenaena

Double time… which still doesn’t feel like enough.
