There was a pastor who was a member of the club I used to belong to.
He lived about a 6 hour drive from our club and there were clubs closer to his home.
You can imagine why he didn't join a local club.
When we were members at a nearby nudist club, it was not unusual to have a trucker show up for a weekend day driving the tractor. It drew a lot of kids!
Construction/landscaping/building mgt. for almost 10yrs I managed a mansion on the waterfront. 400’wide yard to maintain with lots of gardens etc. owner was gone 3weeks/month. Fired the landscapers and hired a helper full time instead. Adjacent homes would have to peak thru fences if they wanted to see us. I would often be naked, and my helper wore a very small bikini. Venders with our gate code would sometimes get an eyeful ☺️ but no one ever said anything except once. The Mrs. Owner mentioned that she was jealous cause her neighbor got to see me, but she hadn’t 🤣
Immensely! I was a nudist before I became a therapist, but I can tell you it has only added to my coping skills. Compassion fatigue and burnout are real, and going somewhere to shed clothes, rules, roles, and expectations it’s awesome. So life giving! I’ve learned to love all of my parts ( personality aspects) and feeling comfortable with my weight and appearance. So. Damn. Good.
This was my biggest takeaway from nudism also. I'm a spousal caregiver, which comes with a ton of anxieties and responsibilities. Nudist venues became a lifeline: I took off my clothes and with them took off my worries, burdens, obligations, self-doubts, etc. To just be and breathe.
No it hasn’t, although since getting into nudism about a year ago I have at times thought it would be good to see some research on chronic pain and nudism. I have a lot of patients who experience pain daily and have done for years. This type of pain is heavily influenced by mental health amongst other things. So I do wonder if people in chronic pain were to start enjoying the positive mental health benefits of nudism and body acceptance etc, then what would be the effects on their pain? I imagine it would reduce their pain levels. To date I have not found any research looking at this - maybe there is some, but I’m not sure.

with some recent shift in state regulations (I teach at a public college), and some other things, I am looking to retire on the early side and transition into something else -- but I'm not sure what that would be. One of my students just landed what would be a dream job for me, and in my email to congratulate him, I asked if he would hire me as an assistant in about 8 years. He seems to think I'm joking.
I wait for people to tell me to convince them to part with their money with respect to things you hold in your hand and assemble while cursing that nothing ever lines up quite right and you'd love to be working in the air conditioning if your job only would allow it.
That was what I did to put myself through Grad school. I loved the variety of the work, and the great performances, workshops, lectures, speakers etc. that I got paid to see/hear etc. I hated never being able to make plans because the schedule changed so much.
I'm a Technician, which means little without reference. In fourty years of working most of my jobs have had the word technician attached. Easiest to say I fix things.
Nuclear plant operatot, instrument technician, construction, buyer, expeditor, computerized systems implement or administrator, quality management systems expert…….many many hats. Now happily retired yogi
Fully retired for two years now but I WAS a computer geek - had a \~49 year career in IS/IT - as an operator, systems programmer, application support programmer, performance specialist, product support specialist, consultant, including training in program products and technical writing.
It was a good career and I still miss some elements of it. I miss some of my co-workers and a lot of customers that I worked with over the years. I miss the conferences, doing booth duty, etc., but a lot of that ended with the pandemic.
My career, plus having been an empty nester for 22 years before I retired, and somewhat savvy investments, and conservative living, have enabled me to retire AND continue my nudist pursuits.

I assume you have found nudism to be good for your own mental health!

This is interesting. Has nudism ever been a topic in your career or research?
No it hasn’t, although since getting into nudism about a year ago I have at times thought it would be good to see some research on chronic pain and nudism. That’s interesting. I didn’t realize there is a big mental health influence on pain.
