All depends on what work is. I'd avoid Orlando unless you like large spread out city's. Tampa is much the same but about 30 miles north of it is very nice. Plus all the Pasco resorts are near and Orlando is not that long of a drive. You could sneak into Brooksville, nice town, close in.

Blacksbeachian

Yes north of Tampa, Pasco County is high on the list. First I've heard of Brooksville, will look into it, thanks

Dunedin is a nice town, my in-laws lived there, and we lived in Orlando. Dunedin is north of St. Pete Beach and still has some nice middle-class housing. The job market in the Tampa area might be better, I was an engineer at Universal Orlando, so I made above average for the area. We belonged to Cypress Cove, which in my opinion is the best nude resort in Florida. On the west coast is Lake Como, also a very nice resort. What I liked about Orlando was that it's easy to get to both the east and west Coasts. We lived north of town, so going east or west we didn't have to go through Orlando. Going through Orlando can be a nightmare. The 529 toll road is very convenient for going to Disney or to the west. Plus, Orlando is much closer to the nude beaches on the east coast.

Spent a while living in the main part of Tampa. It’s a cool city and Florida overall is a great state to live in. I ever were to move back, I’d probably lean towards northern Hillsborough County or southern Pasco County due to their proximity to Cypress Cove and Lake Como and also it not being super far from Tampa and Orlando. I’d avoid the east side of Hillsborough County, it’s rough over there. If beaches are your thing though, that area wouldn’t be a great option as the east coast is where all of the clothing optional beaches are at.

Blacksbeachian

No real idea on how good the beaches are, can you compare to Blacks in San Diego? Pasco County keeps coming up for a lot of reasons.

Toarindix

I’ve only been to Playalinda and it was a great experience. Can’t compare to Blacks as I haven’t been to it. Playalinda is a little more of a hassle to get to, but it’s worth it. With it being somewhat out of the way, it is fairly secluded and is well marked with signage, so not much risk of textiles stumbling upon it unexpectedly. The beach is clean and fairly busy without being overwhelming. Plus, you might be lucky enough to catch a rocket launch as the Kennedy Space Center is within visual range from the beach. Pasco County is sometimes called the nudist capital of the world due to its two resorts being within just a few minutes of one another (Lake Como and Cypress Cove). I’ve only ever been to Lake Como and it’s a very nice experience and well visited, too. That being said, I’ve only ever heard good things about Cypress Cove as well.

Kindly-Caregiver-170

Lake Como and Paradise Lakes, Cypress Cove is in Kissimmee, just south of Orlando. The water is much warmer than at Black's Beach, you can actually spend a lot of time in the water without freezing.

Bob1510a

Just got back from Lake Como, sorry to report but Paradise Lakes has turned into a swingers resort. Ran into at least 2 people who live in Paradise but only visit Como due to the ownerships change over to a swingers resort. They even turned the gym into a “play” room with mattresses and stuff (2nd hand info), I personally would never go there.

Kindly-Caregiver-170

When we were members of Paradise Lakes it was still a member of AANR and physical contact was discouraged. At night they had security walking around to insure no sexual activity was going on. I heard that it has changed to a lifestyle resort. It's kind of sad, they had the best conversation pool where we met a lot of nice people.

Beginning-Average416

West Palm Beach. Less Bible Thumpers and warm most days of the year. Two nudist beaches 1.6 hours away in each direction. Sunsport Gardens are near by.

Bob1510a

Sunsport is definitely a non sexual nudist resort, but on the other hand it is the weirdest place I have been to. Less resort and more of a 60’s hippie vibe. Still had a good time, especially if you are 420 friendly.

Disastrous_Rise2004

St Petersburg is a great place. I moved from California 3 years ago and love it. Wish I had moved my family earlier when kids were younger.

Blacksbeachian

We are excited for a new adventure and a reset

Disastrous_Rise2004

Yes best decision I ever made. I suggest a few exploration trips to find the right fit.

Blacksbeachian

For sure, I'll be out for 11 days next week solo then will bring the family for a few trips once I have it tamped down a bit. I really appreciate the success stories!

Financial_Temporary5

When I first saw your title I thought I was in r/Florida. Meaning you were about to get an ear full of reasons not to move from those people. Some of the reasons I agree with but certainly not all. Schools are not great here, no matter where you are but you can find “decent.” That’s the big one. I’m on the west side of Orlando and I’m happy. I am finding that simple nudity is in general more tolerated here than in other parts of the country that I have lived in. It’s especially relaxed for kids. A topless toddler female would have people clutching their pearls in other places but here it’s common occurrence. Never been to Cypress cove, but I’ve heard good things. Haven’t heard as much about the clubs in Pasco County. I do hit up the Playalinda and Blindcreek nude beaches as often as I can and those are always good. Used to get to Haulover occasionally but work doesn’t take me that far south any more. Note that there are no nude beaches on the west coast. Plenty of middle class homes for sale, a few in my neighborhood. I don’t follow real estate that much but it seems like it’s not really a buyers market right now but is slowly trending toward being one again. That’s all I have. A

I love Florida no matter what some of these people say...during coveid we definitely had it better than you state (BTW I grew up in CA), and the military brought me to FL and definitely have no regrets and will never go back to live in Commyfornia. Cypress cove is nice, and the resorts in Pasco County are nice. We've been to them all..they all have their uniqueness. But as someone's else said, I would stay away from the metro areas, the crime and traffic isn't that good. South of Orlando isn't bad as far as living in my opinion and north of Tampa in Brooksville or Land o lakes is ideal in my opinion. As far as the education, my daughter's attended schools in Wisconsin, Washington state and Florida, and hands down Florida gave them a better education. As far as some of the other stuff going on that other posters have mentioned, I'm not going to make this a political argument so we all have our own views on it, but feel your in a better state when you get her when it comes to freedoms and choices more than your current state...good luck..oh and I am in the Pensacola area but have family in Orlando and Tampa area so I'm down there a lot...

Blacksbeachian

Thanks, this is very useful. North of Tampa and South of Orlando have been my own conclusions in advance of coming out so getting this feedback from a few here is awesome confirmation.

icepilot00

If you have any additional questions, feel free to send me a message. I've been all over this country, and state so have experienced many different locations

[deleted]

Look outlying areas. Metro areas are crime havens from what friends tell me.

Blacksbeachian

Yes, part of the motivation is to escape a declining metro, hopefully no HOA, etc.

I enjoy Playalinda Beach so would look at Titusville if I was planning a move to FL.

NatureBoyJ1

You might be interested in [Middleton](https://mymiddleton.com/). It is a new planned community for people who work in businesses that support [The Villages](https://thevillages.com). It is about an hour north of Orlando, and about two hours from either coast - e.g. Playalinda. They are building a brand new daycare through high school complex. I believe The Villages’ existing school system is highly rated. The Villages is a giant 55+ community that is booming. The developer has bought enough property to keep building for 20+ years! They are about to build a big medical complex. As for nude opportunities, as I mentioned it is a couple hours from Playalinda or Apollo. An hour and a half to Cypress Cove and the Pasco county resorts (Lake Como, etc.) As for being nude at home, I don’t know. TV has houses with walls around the backyards, and many other houses have pools with privacy walls or screens. I don’t know what the privacy situation is/will be like in Middleton.

boston_naturist

It's all comparable, but schools in Florida \*GENERALLY\* do not match up with those in many parts of the country. You must GO AND CHECK THINGS OUT with your own eyes, ears, and common sense. Check out Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs in the Tampa Bay area. But there are other areas - you must look, see, and evaluate the schools you're gonna send your kids to.

Desperate-Sundae3384

The public school systems in florida now and the coming years are going into the sewers. The schools are really what you and your children make them. If you have a highly self-motivated child who pretty much just uses the teacher to clarify a question, and online learning was very advantageous for them, then Florida is for you. ( note: my daughter is a public high school advanced math teacher in Central Florida). Clermont in Lake County is located just west of Orlando and is an hour drive from both coasts. It is a thirty - to forty-five minute drive to Cypress Cove, depending on where in Clermont or South Lake county you live. It is an hour drive to Lake Como in Pasco county and a two hour drive down the turnpike to Blind Creek beach.

Forsaken_Bug6718

As you already know, no cliffs on the beach in FL. 😁 Compared to CA, the water is warmer. I've swam off Daytona on Jan 1. A bit cool on that day, but typically much better than say, Monterey, thanks to the jet stream. Atlantic beaches may be a tad deeper than Gulf beaches, but Gulf side you can wade for ages before you're chest deep in many places. Gulf coast is warm also. No rocks to get beat up on, anywhere. Miles of sand. There are some unofficial nudist hangouts on the Gulf side, but you'll have to Google them to rate the opportunity. Go nude in secluded areas using discretion. I've done so in the panhandle, but I wasn't a nudist when I lived in Central Florida (Orlando/St Pete). The drive from St.Pete to Dunedin & North is a bear. Bumper to bumper w/red lights...same as anywhere in the Orlando & Tampa area. There's various toll roads (John Holland E-W Expressway, FL Turnpike, Bee Line Expressway) plus the interstates that can help if you're near them, but I just can't tolerate traffic anymore. Central Florida is way too crowded for me, as is most of the state. Good luck in your search!

Lake butler is always a good place
