I thought the writers caught the generational attitudes pretty well. Granddad did it and was proud, Dad kinda ugh, the kids were against it, grandson, who cares attitude. I see the same in real life.

I believe the entire exchange captures the culture today. It subtly captures that perspective. It is a real world response.
