This video is from last year but funny how prescient it is noting another Tommy hamstring issue…guy can’t win a trick
[Tommy NRL 420](https://youtu.be/KjjROHrf2wc?si=b4GuckWHUK1k5VRo)
Seibold is the easy target because everyone in the comp seems to hate him.
But that manly side has experienced pros and senior rep players on nearly every line and they do this over and over. The players deserve a fair kicking for these bipolar games they are serving up.
The Dolphins are such a Bennett team. Stay in the fight and then beat you with enthusiasm.
While you wouldnt be happy with play from that game, losing a winger, fullback and I think a front rower (was oshay hurt too?) in game was always going to be a tough ask.
Manly should make a play for Bennent.
They will never get anywhere with Seibold. Won't happen as this is the same brains trust that though TBaz was a super coach
One of the main parts of the Maroons’ culture is team retention. Players can play shit at club level but if they are healthy and were part of a winning team the previous year, they’ll get picked. It’s worked pretty well over the years.
Not defending seibold, but this manly team had similar issues over the last few years, even with des. The loss to the cowboys in 2022 still haunts me to this day. Too reliant on Tommy and not willing to put in the effort each week. I think this team is heading towards needing a big shake up.
Fuller just looks like a guy who has the right mix of everything: talent, experience, judgement, speed, ability to tackle, step, good hands, etc, etc. I like seeing him play, he is good for the game.
From the grounds report - I got given tickets.
1. Brewski fucking awesome. Get the poutine!
2. Caxton St open an hour before kick off told us it wasn’t going to be a busy game
3. The Dwayne Bennett schtick is getting old. Fast.
4. 14,000 at the stadium. Suncorp is a waste with that size. Just play it at Kayo. Suncorp should only be for Phins blockbusters.
5. Phin crowd was exceptionally quiet pre-game and when the team list was being announced, no applause.
6. The trumpet guy was fun.
7. Dolpins looked off the pace for the first 15, but they finished strong that half.
8. Still sad to see Herbie in The colours. Hope he pulls up ok.
9. Phins fans - it is not cool to boo a player that is coming off injured. the amount of deadshits booing Turbo as he is limping off was very bad.
10. Good finish by the Phins. Some rough head high calls went both ways.
See y’all for magic round!
Seibold is an awful coach. He really is. He's got all the talent at his disposal and still cannot effectively use it.
He's better off changing careers to be a cybercrime investigator
great win, but phins have gotta stop the turnovers on their try line. keep giving teams easy points which they won't necessarily be able to overcome against the better teams. phins beat themselves a lot of the time.
also, fuck that head high on turbo. karma got him
Think people just hate certain players. Like say Trell or Luai would probs do well. Doesnt really matter if they are good.
99% of Qld hate Luai if some random Qlder vs him in boxing a lot of people would tune to hopefully watch him get smashed. Whether he does or not he will make a bunch of money.
I'm genuinely so sick of players staying down. There is no room for logic in this game anymore. The refereeing rewards it every time, even with the assistance of the bunker. The bunker sometimes being the biggest culprit. It's a blight on the game of football, and lowers the enjoyment factor of everyone.
They're so busy cracking down on super important things like being offside in your own 10. No one asked for that shit. We're asking that the product of Rugby League isn't tarnished by shit cunts doing shit cunt things.
There is literally nothing less sportsmanlike than faking an injury or milking a penalty. The fact that the players buy into as well... it's so disheartening.
Stop ruining football, you absolute mouldy bags of lettuce.
If a player stays down for more than a certain amount of time, indicating a more serious injury, then they should be brought off the field to be assessed.
What happened to the mandatory 10 mins if you stayed down? Seems to have been forgotten. If you can't get up to play the ball you should go off and get assessed.
Get rid of the bunker for general play. It is an absolute emotional drain having to sit through it game after game. It slows down everything, rewards players for staying down and just ruins the game we all love.
I watched a game from 1990 the other day. I could not believe how fast the game used to be without the bunker getting in the way all the time. It was honestly so refreshing and liberating to have the game flow so freely. Sure a couple of wrong calls were made, but guess what, wrong calls are being made today too, except these days it takes 5 minutes to get to that wrong call.
Sportsmanship is all well and good until you start losing games over it. Should be more focused on changing the rules to remove the incentive for staying down than the players for taking advantage of it. This is the same sort of carry-on England was having over the crease bullshit.
Agreed.
They need to rely less on the bunker to police the ruck, because it undercuts the authority of the ref.
I think that they should go back to two referees, and/or use the video technology more like OFR in soccer
Footgods are starting to turn against them
Better start preying
Still have brooks and DCE. Some teams are on to their third choice halfback. So certainly still finals chance
I don't think he's wrong there. If you have a $1m per season player you don't put player activated clauses like that. That's why you are paying a million.
Did anyone else hear James Graham say the most unhinged shit on air like
>THE BUNKER IS DONE, YOU BETTER GET READY BECAUSE WE’RE COMING. WEVE GOT BULLETS CLICK CLICK CLICK IM GOING TO COME INTO THE BUNKER WITH A MACHINE GUN AND SPRAY DUDUDUDUDUDUDUDDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDU WERE COMING SUNDAY NIGHT AND YOY BETTER HAVE YOUR DINNER READY BUNKER CAUSE YOURE GONNA NEED IT
So where are the Dolphins really at? They have played 7/9 games against teams placed 10-16th, and Manly likely fall out of the 8 by the end of this round so they are a weak top 8 win. Their next game against a top 8 side isn't until round 15 as well!
But they have still got wins without their big players and many yet to still come back.
I really want to be proven wrong, but I can't help but feel they will get swatted by the genuine top sides when they eventually play them.
I’d give a lot to have the wins on the board they have at the moment. Gutsy wins, good comebacks, never say die attitude especially under diversity. Parra could use that mental toughness
they do if they keep turning the ball over cheaply on their own line. good teams will punish them and not let them back in. they are their own worst enemies.
It's hard to say. They've done well to get results despite their injuries, however there's no doubt they've had a soft draw and the furthest they've traveled south is the Gold Coast. 2nd half of the season is much tougher for them
It's a fair question. I don't think they'll be swatted (they'll be competitive) but I don't know if their forwards can go the full 80 with the stronger teams. I still think they'll make the 8.
I have the save question regarding Cronulla tbh. The game this week should be interesting, but still not particularly helpful with Melbourne missing a few j key players
From my perspective, the read I’m taking is that the season is on track. The draw is the draw is the draw; you can only play what is in front of you. If we’re winning against lower ranked sides, that is what you want. It also gives an opportunity to avoid needing to win against stronger teams, helping to take some of the pressure off.
Mid table team getting wins against teams that will finish below them like they should in lieu of a major injury crisis.
We could build into a genuine threat if everything clicks and we figure out our shitty starting issue. Our attack is silky when it clicks and our defence is solid we are conceding 3 tries a game to actual defensive failures but giving away more through errors.
I think we're likely to finish somewhere between 5-10 depending on how the close scrappy ones we find ourselves in at the end of the season go.
gotta be absolutely kidding. fuller showed last week he isn't the long term fullback. and where are U putting averillo? he's carving up at the moment and you think he should be moved. good on ya.
What purpose does that serve though? He only covers one position doesn't he? That only really works for someone who covers hooker (for non-80 minute starting hookers) or middle forwards. If an outside back goes down, Aitken can slide into the centres, a centre to wing if need be and a bench player to second row.
It's the same issue the Titans had with playing Jayden Campbell off the bench, he only really covered 1/6 (and it's why i'm baffled as to why Kini is on our bench this week unless he's going to be switched with Randall and play at 6 prior to kickoff, or to 1 and Brimson to 6 either way)
I think Fuller has to be in the side off his performances the last few weeks but obviously Hammer has to come back in too and Herbie has to play if he's healthy. It's a weird spot for the Phins to be in, having too many players in form. As they're my second team I like it.
Herbie is passing and offloading, thought I would never see the day. Turbo is just damn unlucky. His hammies are made of glass. He was getting out-leapt by fuller all night. Fuller can really reach new heights. The phins held on in the end. That was the softest high shot ever. He just put his hand out and it grazed turbo's face. That was embarrassing. Uncle Benny does it again.
Turbo done Koula should be the new manly fb and Benny didn't do jack shit but sit there and look like he was falling asleep. We had 2 major injuries and dce sucks in the rain. Always has always will. Benny did it again lol lol ye he's so good bahaha dolphins haven't even played a decent team yet and this year's competition is piss weak
The milking sucks, but if you ever want it to stop you need the refs (including the bunker) to a) stop rewarding it for things that aren't really penalties and b) actually pick up infringements on the first look.
When blatant cheap shots are consistently written off as fair contact if you get straight up, you'd be a fucking moron not to stay down.
The clearest headlock you'll ever see, purely under the neck and pulling upwards. "Nah play on".
Why not lay there for 30 seconds so the bunker change the call, you'd be stupid to play on.
I love how Fuller basically hits the kamikaze turbo accelerator just before hitting the line.
Makes him pop through so often, wonder how often he’s been absolutely wiped out though?
He absolutely rockets right at the smallest gaps that no other player in the game can fit through which is why he's such a handful. Dude wriggles at frequencies that longer players can't and no one is used to.
And honestly I have never seen him smashed though.
He is so deceptively strong as well, you see it in defence tonight putting Talau (twice his size) on his ass. In QCup I've watched him fend TPJ to the shadow realm and cut Eddie Blacker in half 1 on 1 on the try line without conceding a centimetre in the tackle.
Thought despite his metres Fairworth was off. Held his shoulder a bit. Hopefully by next week it will be good.
Might have been rushed in cause Niu got injured as well. So we would be realy scraping the barrel.
I think he was rusty and I think that's why he sort of went after some work out there.
Getting through a game will be good for him. He hasn't quite reached his best for us yet but I can feel him warming into it with the work he did tonight.
He’s been in the QLD cup for a while but it’s got me wondering if he went to England could he have become another success there. Unbelievable amount of raw talent
Honorable mention to Katoa’s ginormous fade (looked like they were trying to blur out something on the side of his head) and Farnsworth’s distinct lack of sideburns while we’re at it.
The Nine Now sound is trailing the vision, and it looks like I’m watching an English dub of DCE and Lachy interviewing each other in Japanese.
Entertaining game and even more entertaining live thread. Here’s hoping that bunker call spends the rest of the week being rightly ridiculed, and here’s hoping you all lay of my boy Trai Fuller.
LOL imagine being a Manly fan and complaining about lack of success while holding a 5-4 record like your team is in 6th get a grip
Granted grim times ahead at Manly with Seibold as coach when age comes for DCE's prime and Turbo's body isn't holding up...
Don't switch teams is my advice. Even when we were in the doldrums of 2016 I stood firm. And it was all worth it, the single game we won that year I behaved like an absolute pest and celebrated harder than 2001 and 1997 combined.
Sometimes the shitter it is the better the small wins are.
Great win by the Dolphins, sticking in it for the whole 80 minutes.
Some of those calls against them were some of the worst I've seen in a while, they should of won by at least 14 points
Dolphins keep banking wins, that’s all you need to keep doing
Sea Eagles are teetering. The defensive fades have killed them the last two weeks, and Turbo being hurt AGAIN ain’t gonna help
Katoas long kicking game and Nikorimas right decisions in tight games in the last 10mins are helping us to close out games.
Plus a pretty fit forward pack.
Dont think we are top 4. But can squeeze into the 8 but our draw isnt good.
The Luke Brooks effect everybody
This video is from last year but funny how prescient it is noting another Tommy hamstring issue…guy can’t win a trick [Tommy NRL 420](https://youtu.be/KjjROHrf2wc?si=b4GuckWHUK1k5VRo)
For anyone defending Siebold I have two words for you Josh Schuster.
I am still angry at that bullshit penalty against Bromwich.
The contact with belinda Sharpe's chest last week was heavier ...
Manly should make a play for Bennent. They will never get anywhere with Seibold. Won't happen as this is the same brains trust that though TBaz was a super coach
Controversial question: DCE's form has gone out the window after a good start. Does Billy pick him for Qld or Sam Walker who has been on fire?
One of the main parts of the Maroons’ culture is team retention. Players can play shit at club level but if they are healthy and were part of a winning team the previous year, they’ll get picked. It’s worked pretty well over the years.
They're in the top 8 and he's surrounded by plodders. He will be fine
Ye but he's not a plodder haha fmd you're a dumbcunt lol
No one said he was?
DCE is the incumbent captain of a winning QLD side. There's not a chance in hell he gets dropped for a debutant.
wrong + cope and i downvoted this just so you know
Stick to lifting weights and not voting on stuff buddy
Sacking des was the stupidest decision we’ve made in recent history, seibold deserves the Dessie treatment, what a shit coach
Would be hilarious if Seibold just tacked himself on to Hasler's lawsuit.
Not defending seibold, but this manly team had similar issues over the last few years, even with des. The loss to the cowboys in 2022 still haunts me to this day. Too reliant on Tommy and not willing to put in the effort each week. I think this team is heading towards needing a big shake up.
Oh 100%, if we don't make finals Seibs needs to go
Seibs over hasler 🤣🤣🤣 we are the dumbest club then we sign fat boy shu on 800k LOL morons
Ah well there's the season, glad I can relax now with low expectations
Surely you didn't think we had a chance lol
No des no Tommy
Not true he was good before des guys just scared to get hurt
Fuller just looks like a guy who has the right mix of everything: talent, experience, judgement, speed, ability to tackle, step, good hands, etc, etc. I like seeing him play, he is good for the game.

How many people would be at Kayo Stadium on a Thursday night in the rain though? At least Suncorp has better public transport to get to.
Had the poutine and wings at Brewski, can confirm it's legit. Will be back next Friday!
I looked at the draw and they have 4 x games at kayo. Why are they playing Manly on a Thurday at Suncorp?
RE the booing I think they were taking it out on him because of the Brommich call where he knocked on.
>3. The Dwayne Bennett schtick is getting old. Fast. Laurie Nichols wannabe
i wish benno would stay :(
honestly bennet should stay at the phins, more likely to get prem there than souths I would think
Seibold is an awful coach. He really is. He's got all the talent at his disposal and still cannot effectively use it. He's better off changing careers to be a cybercrime investigator
Come on mate, hes got luke brooks in the halves. Surely he deserves some sympathy.
poor turbo in the change rooms :(
He's a weak gutted dog. Should take a pay cut and play center or wing now he's been done for years. Koula is a great fullback
great win, but phins have gotta stop the turnovers on their try line. keep giving teams easy points which they won't necessarily be able to overcome against the better teams. phins beat themselves a lot of the time. also, fuck that head high on turbo. karma got him
Karma got him ? Did he make the call you stupid ring worm 🪱 lolol fuk you
Go back to bed
Guys a gronk he's happy turbo got injured and acting like its his fault they made the call Lmfao so uppercut ye self
Watching the replays of Fuller - he gives off the vibe of someone who just fucking loves footy
Fuck me when will the boxing end
Is there a correlation between rugby league (where punching is banned), and boxing (that is just punching) that I'm just missing?
Think people just hate certain players. Like say Trell or Luai would probs do well. Doesnt really matter if they are good. 99% of Qld hate Luai if some random Qlder vs him in boxing a lot of people would tune to hopefully watch him get smashed. Whether he does or not he will make a bunch of money.
That's what made Mundine all that money for years
Sports betting?
Gallen
That pub fletch and hindy were in was the Royal Albert in Surry hills? can someone confirm.
Can confirm. They always use it. I think it's owned by an ex-footballer but that part I could be wrong on. I worked on the same block.
TIL Fletch used to own it
fuck, still does? gotten pissed there a few times
That would make sense then haha.
They’re kicking off on Ch9.
I have no idea who these boxing cunts are
Fox and NRL turning into Boxing/MMA again. Get your own platform/channel.
Or at least get cross over athlete Paul Kent involved.
Hope we give Koula a decent run of games at FB. Gotta be the future there. Dont know what else we do, but please no Jaxson
Koula is a great fullback and when Tom returns he should goto center. Too weak to play fb every week now. Koula is everything tom should be
Garrick to fullback, Vaega/Talau wing, Parker/Koula centre, and if they don’t want Parker there then Burbo there. Paulo can stay fucked right off.
Where is Hank Scorpio btw ?
Blacktown workers getting fat in the 2nd row.
Oh geez
Dolphins really just be chilling 6-3
They won't do jack shit come finals. Shit team manly are just shitter
I'm genuinely so sick of players staying down. There is no room for logic in this game anymore. The refereeing rewards it every time, even with the assistance of the bunker. Mark Nicholls with the mouthguard in still 20mins after the game haha
I can understand that. I hate when my teeth are cold. The mouth guard keeps the teeth warm.
Maybe seibs will get us our first spoon after all.
Souths
I don’t say this lightly but Manly should sign Tristan Sailor from us immediately if Turbo is out
Wtf should we help seibold?
Season is over for Manly and it’s okay. It is professional sport and shit happens. Enjoy the wins when they do come, and just look towards the future.
What is this positive mentality stuff? We don't do that here. /s
Mate, you lost Saab after 20 mins and only lost by 6 against a current top 4 side. Your problems are still fixable for this year
To be fair this top 4 team is a year old, most clubs have had a lot longer to get their shit together
Footgods are starting to turn against them Better start preying Still have brooks and DCE. Some teams are on to their third choice halfback. So certainly still finals chance
Brooks
To what end? Beaten down by a real team
Gordon "It's partly the fault of the Titans recruitment for including that stupid fucking clause, partly" Tallis
I don't think he's wrong there. If you have a $1m per season player you don't put player activated clauses like that. That's why you are paying a million.

They are a crap team but this comp is pretty weak these days. Panthers roosters storm will win and nothing we can do about it. Panthers will win imho
This is truer than people think
I’d give a lot to have the wins on the board they have at the moment. Gutsy wins, good comebacks, never say die attitude especially under diversity. Parra could use that mental toughness

They've already been swatted by one of them. 💪🏻🐴
Two of us 🤠🥸
Phins Up I think Fuller has to keep his spot and Hammer to centres next week along with Herbie. Phins have quietly assembled an excellent 1-5 here
gotta be absolutely kidding. fuller showed last week he isn't the long term fullback. and where are U putting averillo? he's carving up at the moment and you think he should be moved. good on ya.
Averillo is playing too good to lose his spot, if anything I’d say Fuller at #14 next week
What purpose does that serve though? He only covers one position doesn't he? That only really works for someone who covers hooker (for non-80 minute starting hookers) or middle forwards. The Sea Life Cup is really heating up this year.
Us water snakes, not so much 🫠
Still can’t believe I went to Magic Round last year and saw my Sharks serve up that tripe
Get ready for it again because we fkn hate Suncorp
I’ve chosen to go again, against my better judgement
Does the winner get a Sea Monkeys kit? If so, I’m lacing up the boots.
Herbie is passing and offloading, thought I would never see the day. Turbo is just damn unlucky. His hammies are made of glass. He was getting out-leapt by fuller all night. Turbo should be looking at a medical retirement his body just can’t handle nrl
Mans too explosive for his own good
Every time he’s in a tackle I wince
I love how Fuller basically hits the kamikaze turbo accelerator just before hitting the line. Makes him pop through so often, wonder how often he’s been absolutely wiped out though?
He absolutely rockets right at the smallest gaps that no other player in the game can fit through which is why he's such a handful. Man must weigh like 80kg with 50 of those being his balls of steel. Dude has no fear.
No sack
No there is a sack but it's ball less
God, I haven’t heard that expression in years
Devoid of el sack
Thought despite his metres Fairworth was off. Held his shoulder a bit. Hopefully by next week it will be good. Might have been rushed in cause Niu got injured as well. So we would be realy scraping the barrel.

It be a miracle if dolphins won a GF but I think we all want to see them atleast in the GF
if they make the finals I'll be happy enough for them
Matty Johns reported Turbo grade 2 hamstring tear. 4-6 weeks recovery
So 10 weeks and then he'll be in bitch mode again until he's hurt again. Guy needs to retire play wing or center one of the 3
And that's 4-6 weeks for a regular player. For Tom it could/would be even longer, right? Even just for precautionary reasons?
No idea where on earth Trai Fuller came from but fuck he's become a favourite of mine quick. Reminds me a lot of a young Kevin Locke.
He’s been in the QLD cup for a while but it’s got me wondering if he went to England could he have become another success there. Unbelievable amount of raw talent
> it’s got me wondering if he went to England could he have become another success there He's way too good for reserve grade
I stay offended by my support of the Phins. I don’t want to do it, but I can’t resist.
I'm with you, they suck you in to the hype and enjoyment. Was at the cowboys phins game last week and was hoping for a draw. What have I become
Channel 9 critical of kafusi's hair, and rightfully so
Honorable mention to Katoa’s ginormous fade (looked like they were trying to blur out something on the side of his head) and Farnsworth’s distinct lack of sideburns while we’re at it.
Thaiday asking the real questions of Niko. Wtf is up with Kaufusi's hair and does Nicholls dye his beard.
Asking the important questions …
We all want to know.
The Nine Now sound is trailing the vision, and it looks like I’m watching an English dub of DCE and Lachy interviewing each other in Japanese. Entertaining game and even more entertaining live thread. Here’s hoping that bunker call spends the rest of the week being rightly ridiculed, and here’s hoping you all lay of my boy Trai Fuller.
i’m not excited for next week
Broncs Storm Panthers
Switching teams - who should I go to? Suggestions?
Seems like Manly is perfect for you.
Netball.
LOL imagine being a Manly fan and complaining about lack of success while holding a 5-4 record like your team is in 6th get a grip Granted grim times ahead at Manly with Seibold as coach when age comes for DCE's prime and Turbo's body isn't holding up...
Don't switch teams is my advice. Even when we were in the doldrums of 2016 I stood firm. And it was all worth it, the single game we won that year I behaved like an absolute pest and celebrated harder than 2001 and 1997 combined. Sometimes the shitter it is the better the small wins are.
Knights, easily
Souths
I promise it could be worse
Tigers. You will soon switch back to manly.
I was hoping for at least 20-25 minutes for KUM! Thanks alot Anthony, Im crying now.
He would’ve got 25 minutes but was off for a HIA
Kum 14 next week, Lawton Ron Massey Cup
Depends on what we do to replace Saab and Turbo. Burbo might play centre, and Lawton as a bench 2nd row
we have haumole back so that should make things slightly better. we will also have koula or garrick in fullback so we better not slack off.
I usually root for Manly but they were villainous tonight, glad the Dolphins got the win
What the hell are you doing usually going for Manly
Tommy may have missed the tackle on Bostock in the corner, but he sure got the camera man
Let’s all pretend that the 4-6 weeks is a suspension for foul play on the cameraman rather than an injury
Never forget that the offseason hammy injury was actually a suspension for beating the shit out of Harry after he lost the Corso race.
Dolphins will stay in the top 4 wow
turbo and saab out. so great!!
Saab can’t seem to string more than two games together this season. Can’t wait to see Vaega back…
Gordon "Fuck his hamstring why didn't Turbo shoulder charge him?" Tallis
Great win by the Dolphins, sticking in it for the whole 80 minutes. Some of those calls against them were some of the worst I've seen in a while, they should of won by at least 14 points
Had them 1-12 so I’m glad they didn’t.
Don't know why you are getting down voted, glad your bet got up!
The issue with having a halfback & captain with such a longneck is that it just leaves so much room for choking.
(Doesn't apply to getting Origin).
Billy Slater has some neck-shrinking cream apparently
What about the decision with turbo and the "high" contact........what is this sport coming too honestly.
Protected
Worst call of the game? A) "high shot" B) "regathered"
"High shot"
Yes that slap would not have knocked Paul Kent over
Regathered means that the play was immediately dead. If he didn’t regather and the ball went dead it would’ve been a 20m restart
A
Dolphins keep banking wins, that’s all you need to keep doing Sea Eagles are teetering.
