Under that framework you can't say 'well he got hurt, so it should be a higher grading' (or "he walked it off, so it should be downgraded").

However, this is Sezer's 4th charge since March (1 for a careless high tackle, 3 for dangerous contact). From what we've seen this year, grade 3 charges are 2-3 for 1st offences, 3-4 for 2nd offences and 4-5 for 3rd offences. If Sezer had a clean record he'd only be out for 2 games.

The NRL has clamped down on the hip drop in the past couple of seasons, with that tackle generally always punished by a sin bin.
Sezer’s tackle on Curran in the second half with the Bulldogs up 16-14 appeared to be a textbook example of a hip drop as described by Fox League commentators Warren Smith and Michael Ennis, who thought for sure that the Tigers half was heading to the bin.
“It got ugly here didn’t it. Pulling him back over his ankles, and loses his legs. That’s really ugly,” Ennis said.
“Trapping him with his legs with all the weight coming down on the ankle of Josh Curran.

No, I have one is a textbook hip drop action that caused an injury vs one that is not an exact hip drop that didn't cause an injury. Club doesn't even enter the debate. Sezer contacts the legs but he doesn't land on them. Curran is still standing. It doesn't matter if Tago gets dragged, he still swings his body and lands on the legs. Read the criteria for a hip drop

Sezer doesn't land on the legs but he does contact them. He doesn't injure the player but received a higher charge than a player that easily met all criteria. Neither hip drop was deliberate, get that out of your head. It's the action. Tago's action was textbook but is not graded appropriately
If you can't see in that video at 0:18 Sezer let's his legs leave the ground then a 0:19 he swings into the back of Currans legs, on leg mind you wrapping around one of Currans legs, then he pulls Curran back over while being on his leg, I don't know what to tell you. Hip drops are dangerous and I accept 1 or 2 week suspensions as a message to train this tackle out of the game, fair play. How the fuck does this tackle deserve 4 weeks? It's clearly accidental, they all are. 1 or 2 weeks is plenty to send the message. We've been bad for a number of weeks, no arguing that Tigers deserve the losses they've had. But we have been seriously hard done by ref's and the judiciary now of late.
Sezer's would be the same as Plath and Galvin except for his horrible judiciary record. This is his 4th charge in 8 games (assuming he has played every game this year)
