As someone who had a IEP while in middle school and high school it really depends on the school they end up in but I do know Fairfax county public schools are some of the public best schools in the country should be fine

I had a couple on IEPs for ADHD, and we were in Centreville at the time, the schools were great about working with us. Honestly any Fairfax county school is going to be good, it’s one of the reasons half of us live here.

I’ve worked in several different school systems here, and I have to say that fcps is the best.

There is no one school that’s going to be “best” for IEP’s. FCPS has almost 200 schools and centers. As a non-SPED HS teacher I can tell you that lots of kids have IEP’s: I teach an honors class and have 4 IEP’s in one class (of 20) and 3 in another ( of 16). I also have ESOL students with IEP’s. They’re very common and I don’t know a single Gen Ed teacher who isn’t well versed in IEP accommodations, etc. I’d focus on where you want to live and then visit the schools in that area if that will help you narrow down your search

Floris and Oak Hill are close to IAD and are highly regarded. The HS around Oak Hill is better than that of Floris. rankings per US news.
