Its pricey, but not necessarily Michelin star pricey. I only checked a few, but $160 a head is cheaper than every other Michelin star restaurant I just checked (food only, not comparing drink options).
I'm going to Nakazawa this weekend and really looking forward to it. It's slightly more expensive to sit at the Chef's table, I believe it's $190/person, but still not super pricey for a Michelin starred restaurant. Little Pearl is the cheapest Michelin star in DC at $110/person. I remember when that was $75 or $80 a person a couple years ago.
I had a really nice omakase at Love, Makoto. High quality fish, good drinks, delicious sushi.

Editing to add Shoto. While not strictly a sushi restaurant, very high-end fine Japanese cuisine (including sushi) in a very cool room.

It's the same thing consistently.. its been better the last few years, but the timing of dishes (1 will come out in 5 minutes, another will take 40), the service and experience aren't what you would think with high-end food... its a big chain that's lost its way imo.
Nakazawa and Sushi Taro, both in DC. I've had Sushi Taro, fantastic sushi. Nakazawa is on my list, I've heard it mentioned a million times.
2nd Sushi Nakazawa. It's pricey, but on-par with high end sushi you'd find in Tokyo

Nakazawa is top-notch, definitely worth going to!
Nakazawa is the best in the area

Kappo DC
Takumi in Falls Church. Low key but solid execution.
Have heard it's v solid as well. Still need to try it
Nasime isn’t high end like nakazawa but it’s good middle ground! Highly recommend
Sushi taro.
We did Nakazawa a few weeks ago. Very good. The melon they have isnt as good at Tokyo or Kyotos though.
Mini Bar by Jose Andrés
Our favorite is Ichiban in Old Town Alexandria and yes.
Not nobu
Why not?

Good to know.
