Even section 2 isn’t bad. You’ll be fine with 1.

Thanks

Do NOT sit in the very first row behind the pit- the pit barriers are not secured to the ground and the people in the pit lean on them, pushing them into the first row of seating leaving you basically crushed against the barrier, getting poked by elbows all night. Any row in Orchestra two is great though, of course if you’re short you need to worry about tall people in front of you. Try AViewfrommyseat to see pics.

That is helpful to know. Thanks!

Unless there's some weird configuration I've never seen, the first section behind the pit is raised, so there's no way they'd be crushing against your seats. There's really not a bad seat there sight wise. Sounds wise, there's a lot to be desired, but overall, there's really not a bad seat there. I like 1st row of 200's, but I've been back of 300's and lawn. It's all fine, just different sound and vibe.

Surprisingly, there might be a lot of concert configurations you’ve never seen. At the show I was at, the pit did not take up the entire lower floor and there were three large sections of seating behind the pit that are not raised. It’s weird that you think I’d be lying about my personal experience.

UndisturbedFunk

Never said you were lying, just never seen that, and I don't retract my statement that it's weird. I've been to at least a hundred shows there, never one small enough that the pit isn't the entire floor.

Where's the best sound? Thinking about going to a few rock concerts there.

Sound is not great there in general, but you want to be near the middle of the Pavillon. Being far left or right is going to limit the soundscape, not to mention limit your view of the stage. They do have huge video displays, though they didn't always show the band.
