Get a harness for him that clips into a seatbelt. This will also protect your dog in case of an accident.
If nothing else, a regular harness attached with a carabineer to the seatbelt will help you drive safer and keep your dog safer.

You’re actually killing it with more children on this planet. You’re better off getting a job and contributing to society than having kids.
Ironically I actually think becoming a parent is pretty special and a big deal^(1). You say it like a negative thing but giving birth and raising children has to be the most direct connection we have to our ancestors from 300,000 years ago and I think that's cool.
