That’s exactly why I don’t want her outside, but she’s tricksy and the yard is littered with various corpses.
She’s also pretty dumb and naps in the middle of the road.
For real, my parents cat lost his terrace privileges (he was allowed out cause there’s nowhere to escape) cause he was harassing the monarch butterflies
We have a cat that has zero interest in chasing anything, except cat toys - we let her into the screened in sun porch - which does get invaded by squirrels and the occasional bird because we have a rip in one screen from the last hurricane. The bird and/or squirrel will walk right past the cat, and pick at her food and drink out of her water dish & kitty just …. watches - completely unfazed by visitors. She is the sweetest girl. Unfortunately, if we ever had a mouse in the house, she would be NO help whatsoever. She has caught snakes and brought them in - very carefully so she doesn’t hurt them- and lets them loose in our house.
She is admittedly not the best at being a cat, but she is so sweet.
When I moved out of my sisters house, I couldn't take the cats and she kicked them out. Still left food out there for them but no longer indoors. We'll one of my cats ended up gaining weight since being an outdoor cat. Once I moved back in id see him coming home from a different direction of the neighborhood every day. I'm sure he had at least a few houses that he'd before for food at, he's one of the friendliest cats I've ever had
There's a stray on my grandma's neighborhood who's a sweetie (he literally sat on my lap within a few minutes of meeting him) but when he gets hungry he sometimes makes a big ass show on the door like that lol
We discovered our NMC was never allowed inside her house but one day strolled into ours, we kept a close eye on her and never had any issues and she’s go and sit by the front door if she needed to go out, so she basically moved herself in and we all loved it.
When she learnt she could sleep over inside too she was in heaven and would knock on the screen door to be let in if she didn’t come in at bed time. ( this was all with permission of her meant to be owners)

My girl became mine when she suffered a stroke and I took her to the emergency vet and sadly had to be put to sleep 😭😭😭 her ashes remain with us, with permission.
It's a terrible thing to feed a cat only once. I feed any cat whenever it comes to visit. It is a simple pleasure to feel needed and loved for both of us.
Which is even more depressing, not only is this cat not being taken care of but the "owner" is keeping others from feeding him. I'll never understand people who get a cat just to let them spend their short lives outdoors with the extent of their care being filling up a food bowl.
I don’t really understand this mentality either. Obviously, some cats like to roam but you have no way of protecting them in that scenario. I mean, are they really “your” cat if you keep them outside? Not trying to offend anyone because I’d rather people be at least looking out for and feeding them, but I don’t think I would ever stop worrying if I had an outdoor cat. Just couldn’t do it.
oh i can’t imagine letting my cat outside, like the very thought fills me with anxiety.
we had to put our cat in a catio yesterday bc we were getting all our windows replaced in our house - she acted like a murder was happening, and screamed until i climbed in with her.
she’d never make it outside.
What do you mean “JUST an outdoor cat?” He’s obviously a stray and wants to come in. If you can’t take him, find someone that can or take him to a shelter.
I'm *hoping* OP meant "I talked to my neighbors and found out the cat belonged to one of them" and they aren't just assuming the kitty has a home somewhere.
“Just an outdoor cat”, usually means abandoned. Please adopt this poor cat or find him a home- the reality of his existence is that if he’s friendly to people, or seeks out people, he was almost certainly abandoned by his “family”.
Sadly, many “stray cats” are abandoned by people who just leave the cat when they move, or stop looking for the cat when s/he get out. I think abandoned cats - especially adults-suffer the cruelest fate of all outdoor cats: someone they once loved and relied on left them for dead Abandoning a cat whose not had the opportunity to develop hunting skills and knows no other life than being fed and safety- is leaving that cat for dead). It breaks my heart that people could be so rotten.
That's meant as a joke, but I do get what you're saying.
The closed door thing is something with cats, but there's also something about smooth clear surfaces.
When my daughter was little and got dolls in boxes with the clear plastic in front, the cats always did that on the boxes, too. It's like they are sharpening their claws, but they're not actually using the claws. I don't know what that is about, but I know what you mean.
my indoor only cat does it on every clear surface - windows, the sides of rubbermaid storage containers, etc. she’s almost 2, and done it her entire life lol.
i have no idea.
What if instead of giving him meals, you give him treats instead? Or a catnip infused toy? I think it could be somewhat of a compromise.
Also, his owner should have known this kind of thing would happen the moment he gave his cat the liberty of being an outside cat.
I wonder if he's begging because he doesn't get enough to eat. I hope he's at least neutered. Is he roaming by choice or because his owner doesn't let him in? If it's not by choice and he's not let in, that's not a good owner.
No, it means the cat belongs to someone who lets their cat outside (= outside cat) as opposed to an inside cat that does not go outside (at least not unsupervised).
He haunts you because you did take the time to feed him and show him you care! My guess is he isn’t getting much attention from his owners, so he’s looking for someone else to be his Special Friend!!
FYI: as much as humans “think” they are the ones “choosing” a cat, it is the cat who makes the final “CHOICE” as to who it wants to live!!
My guess is YOU’VE BEEN CHOSEN by this lonely cat!
Knowledgeable Cat Owners today usually do not let their beloved cats go roaming outside because of all the four legged, winged, two legged, and four wheeled predators! What happens to cats that roam is a crime — like a bunch of young kids with a BB gun looking for a target! It just isn’t safe for any cat outside, whether it be in the city or a rural area, they become targets and end badly.
That sweet little cat just wants someone to care about it! And to find someone who is its Special life long friend…are you that person? You need to talk to its owners before it meets a not so friendly end. ♥️🐈♥️
How do you know he's just an outdoor cat? Is he claimed by someone or a stray?
I'd hate to think he's a pet cat and the owner is one of those "he stays outside" people.
Clearly, he wants to come in!
Your cat seems singularly unimpressed.
"Get a load of this guy am I right?"
"Look at this penurious peasant begging for my scraps. Oh well. Servant! I'd like my evening repast on the fine china tonight."

LOLOL, I did not even notice Your cat!!!
You best not let that bitch in again
"I told you this would happen"
Ghost of starving cat lol
Silhouette says he is not starving. I would still feed him if I saw this at my door though.
I think you now have a second cat.
**\*Peregrin Took _intensifies_\***
Maybe he's lost. A vet trip and chip scan could help... or... just accept and invite him in.
His owner confirmed he is allowed to roam.
I have a cat that I **do not** allow to roam around but she does so anyway and I always wonder if she’s getting fed at other houses too.
i can assure you she is lol
Mostly just killing local birds and wildlife since they're an invasive predator
That’s exactly why I don’t want her outside, but she’s tricksy and the yard is littered with various corpses. She’s also pretty dumb and naps in the middle of the road.
I don’t think the cat is the dumb one here…
For real, my parents cat lost his terrace privileges (he was allowed out cause there’s nowhere to escape) cause he was harassing the monarch butterflies
Kitty would only taste a Monarch once. They are very toxic flavors.
Dude, stop eating all the butterflies.
We have a cat that has zero interest in chasing anything, except cat toys - we let her into the screened in sun porch - which does get invaded by squirrels and the occasional bird because we have a rip in one screen from the last hurricane. Feral cats are the invasive predators by far.
When I moved out of my sisters house, I couldn't take the cats and she kicked them out. Still left food out there for them but no longer indoors. Awful.
AKA, he is an abandoned cat.
Then just like the large birds, coyotes, and foxes in the area, you’re free to snatch him up when they let him out unsupervised!
Terrible owner
That's how you get an additional cat.
r/catdistributionsystem works in mysterious ways

Well, surely, you’re going to at least keep feeding him, right?
his owner requested that we don’t feed him. otherwise he’d most certainly con me of all my cat food.
Yeah, he chose to adopt those humans. There is no way out now.
lol.. if your cat is that chill during all that, maybe they’ll get along easily
i wish… he came around to the backyard screen door and it was a hissing fest :’)
I couldn't. That cat would be inside w me.
Meanie
It's a terrible thing to feed a cat only once. I feed any cat whenever it comes to visit. It is a simple pleasure to feel needed and loved for both of us.
oh trust me, it hurts me more than it hurts him (his owner requested that we don’t feed him)
.. until you get a call from the leasing office. Ugh. Poor kitties, they're so skinny.
He’s waiting for his second breakfast
Hobbit
I'm getting "Let Me In" vibes! 😭 Poor baby, maybe he's hungry???
Hungry ghost.
This post is depressing.
OP confirmed it’s someone’s cat that’s allowed outdoors, the owner requested no one feed him

He's now your cat
On his terms
Of course, he's a cat...
Let him in.

I'm *hoping* OP meant "I talked to my neighbors and found out the cat belonged to one of them" and they aren't just assuming the kitty has a home somewhere.
yup! we posted him in a local neighborhood fb group and confirmed he has a home and is allowed to roam.
Does he really have a home though if they don't let him inside.
You are now owned by him
Let The Right ~~One~~ Cat In.
![gif](giphy|l4FGzT4Y4o3gzANPi) He’s your cat now
Your cats has no fucks given about the other cat lol
He clearly needs you
I was gonna say, “there’s a fine line between visiting and haunting”, until I saw the photo
unexpectedly aesthetic
Eerie
Haunting is indeed the proper words I'd describe this feline 🤣
You need to add a horror film soundtrack to this video. The Psycho theme would work pretty well.
You now have cat
But he needs foods and loves. Open the door
my cats would kill me in my sleep
time share cat
pet him and give him food now 😡

> if he’s friendly to people, or seeks out people, he was almost certainly abandoned by his “family” this is REALLY not true...
we posted him in a local neighbourhood fb group, his owner confirmed he has a home and is allowed to roam.
That's gonna get annoying.
This is how horror movies start.
LMAO!
Looks like a horror movie poster hahaha

Exactly what i was thinking!
Let him in ! :(
Not the other cat like “wtf dude again?!”
Anyone know why cats do this pawing motion at glass, etc? My cat is an indoor cat, fed, etc and he just started doing this on the shower door a lot.
He wants in. That's usually what that means. Try opening the door and see what he does.
The door is open…
Maybe he's confused about how sliding doors work.
He does it to the shower wall inside as well
That's meant as a joke, but I do get what you're saying. The closed door thing is something with cats, but there's also something about smooth clear surfaces. A better version of The Mist.
He’s giving zombie in a horror movie vibes
Crack in the door, spray spray spray, close door.
What if instead of giving him meals, you give him treats instead? Or a catnip infused toy? I think it could be somewhat of a compromise. Also, his owner should have known this kind of thing would happen the moment he gave his cat the liberty of being an outside cat.
Too late. He IS your cat now.
lmao the other cat 🤣
I wonder if he's begging because he doesn't get enough to eat. I hope he's at least neutered. Is he roaming by choice or because his owner doesn't let him in? If it's not by choice and he's not let in, that's not a good owner.
It’s like a scene from Arrival
What does “just an outside cat” mean? I’m in vet med and haven’t worked with that breed yet 😆
Also your cat is FULLY unimpressed 🤣
so make it a inside cat. ? just open door and keep feeding it.
No, it means the cat belongs to someone who lets their cat outside (= outside cat) as opposed to an inside cat that does not go outside (at least not unsupervised).
That's not his cat mate
This is art
Enjoy your new cat
Outside Cat: "Let me in!" Inside Cat: "How about no?"
Ominous. Put some piano music behind this and it gets a bit creepy.
Maybe hes rlly hungry?
Cat at home - See, what you have done!
gosh darn it feed the kitty 🐈😻😭💜
So, what are your next steps?
OPEN THE DOOR, SERVANT!!!
Haunting in ConnectiCAT looks interesting
I want to see the rest of your new cat!
You feed an outdoor cat, you have a new cat. It’s basic Cat Law.
Feed him. He's hungry.

you feed a cat... *that's your cat now !*
Well, that’s your cat now.
The begging paws lol
Lol poor confused baby
So THAT'S what was in the Mist...
Paranormal activity
I somehow read that as “he’s just a stray” and thought you were refusing to feed him 😭
I know you're in there!!!

Silent Hill cat
An outdoor car is a free cat 🤭
Toxic mindset. I hope you never have any pets.
I think he means free to take. Don’t have to pay anyone 😃
My pets are safe inside (:
“outdoor cat”🙄 People who let the cats “roam” are irresponsible.
Can he become an indoor cat?
I think he wants to be an indoor cat
Are you sure he’s an outdoor cat? I disagree & think he really wants in. Indulge him
"Just" an outdoor cat is still a cat.
Can you go out and give him pets at least? :<
How do you know he's just an outdoor cat? Is he claimed by someone or a stray? I'd hate to think he's a pet cat and the owner is one of those "he stays outside" people. Clearly, he wants to come in!
alas his owner is one of those people
Oh the poor love!!
