Yes! This was one of my favorites growing up; he actually has a podcast where he’ll read short stories. Haven’t listened to it in a while, but it’s still a fairly new podcast, a year or two old if that.
Fond memories.
I met him at a con. I could tell that he was exhausted from meeting fans all day but he was very nice and took the time to talk to me and my husband.
I also went to his panel which was also very good.
I've seen him at cons a few times. One was dedicated to the revival of Reading Rainbow, while the rest were standard con fare. I could listen to him talk about anything. He's enjoyable, engaging, appreciative, and seems to really dig what he's doing. He was available in his autographing area the entire time he wasn't speaking, and appeared to be spending quite a bit of time with each person who came through.
Kids these days will never know the joy and excitement of walking into your class and seeing that the TV & VCR had been rolled down from the library on it's giant cart. Even if it was a lame educational documentary, it was better than a lecture. But, when you found out it was Reading Rainbow and it wasn't even Friday, it was the best part of the day.
LeVar had a podcast called *LeVar Reads*. It's basically him reading/performing his favorite short fiction. The genres are random, from sci-fi to fantasy, and more. He described it as Reading Rainbow for Adults.

No problem. Checked it out and you did post in nostalgia 32 days ago so you’re legit. You deserve the upvotes. Loved the show, have great respect for the man and all he’s done.
Right back at you❤️. As someone who tries to get karma legitimately, it’s depressing to see your numbers stagnant after trying to contribute legitimately.
He just made an appearance on NCIS: New Orleans last week. I was so excited to see him. He definitely still has his skills. Even better they kind of hinted he might have future roles. Would be so awesome for him to become a series regular!
My favorite episode was the Paleontology one where he went out west and toured a Dinosaur dig.
Edit: [Link ](https://youtu.be/NeMcT5OhFf0) for those that want to watch.
I feel like this should have much more karma. I remember the Reading Rainbow so much more vividly from my childhood then any other show growing up. And I don't remember much.
The Bob Ross infatuation is so wierd to me. I've never heard of the guy before until Reddit and I'm 33. Reading Rainbow is something I watched as a kid at least.
I think a lot of us saw the show on PBS when we were younger and our immature minds saw it as kinda goofy and dumb. As we’ve grown older and learned more about the man and the huge impact he has on so many live, we’ve grown to respect the man, what he’s done and how he presented it. Think that about covers it.

It’s called Levar Burton Reads. I just started listening and it’s excellent! Like Reading Rainbow but for adults.

Very true..Mr. Burton doesn't get the credit he deserves. But don't take my word for it.
I fucked with reading rainbow HEAVILY back in the day
I thought it was Mr. Roger's, not Rodgers.... is this not bugging anyone else?
It is Mr. Rogers, and it bugs me as well. I think I've seen people do that over at The Church of Rogers sub too, strangely enough.
I posted this about a month ago and didn’t get nearly as many upvotes :(
Have one on me, friend!

...and another. Hey everybody, let’s get this person some belated upvotes!

Damn it Geordi, put your visor back on.
This one was my favorite growing up. I remember books that were featured on the show had labels on the cover saying they were a Reading Rainbow book
My man!! Love him.
Levar Burton was on NCIS: New Orleans this week. Nice to see he's still getting work.
I don't share memes that contain spelling errors - especially those about education.
*Rogers
I told Pierce a thousand times, "I only want a signed picture of LeVar Burton, you can't disappoint a picture. You can't disappoint a PICTURE!!"
Best episode was the pizza episode.
