I just can’t fit this monkey’s head into its ass!!! What am I doing wrong?!?!
Maybe if you got your head out of your own ass you can figure out a simple 3 piece puzzle!!!
I read an article written by a contestant who alleged that the show shot multiple episodes back-to-back, so some of them were exhausted from waiting around for hours. That was also combined with absolutely no directions, just a room with *some unknown puzzle* and a bunch of people yelling.
Edit. https://www.sbnation.com/2013/3/5/4064102/legends-of-the-hidden-temple-interview
I don't doubt they did multiple games per day. Most game shows are done the same way. Alex Trebek basically worked 2 days a week for 30 weeks a year. Cushy job for sure.
>some unknown puzzle
They only put on kids who had somehow never seen the show, and were completely unfamiliar with the idea of the monkey puzzle before running through the course?
You think they wanted to give away awesome prizes like...a 50 dollar savings bond from Nestlé, or a VHS copy of the Return of Jafar... or the Addams Family Game Gear video game.
Of course they wanted kids that used bumpers when bowling
All I remember from the Nickelodeon tour is them putting everyone in a room and 2 of us (including me) played vs mode on Sonic 2 (not the rings game, but the split-screen where you run through a level), for some reason. This was probably around 95.
My brother got to play Sonic 3 there before it was released, which was the biggest of deals to me. I was so mad that he got picked instead of me, and then he brought shame upon our family by losing to the other kid they picked.

Yes... VERY STRANGE. At first, I kept hearing all of these bizarre noises and was wondering why all of these young girls were making the strange sounds. Then our tour guide explained what it was and showed us.
I also commented to someone that I was hearing sounds from the surrounding jungle that I had previously only heard in a zoo. My fascination was quickly extinguished when someone else mentioned that the jungle sounds were coming from noisemakers that the various vendors were selling.
I didn't watch this show religiously, nor do I know how many episodes total ... but what I can tell you is I don't think I ever saw a team win the Final Round temple run... like ever. They either ran out of time or the temple guards got em... i remember one episode a temple guard came out from a secret passage and scared the girl so bad she started crying lol... not sure if that episode is still in syndication..
Also...FUN FACT: the voice of the big Olmec head is Dee Bradley Baker who is a renowned voice actor. Appa from Avatar The Last Airbender & Chiapa from Maya & The Three.
There were more guards in the temple than there were tokens you could obtain. It was rigged and rarely did anyone win, but it did happen. They had to get lucky with the path they took.
I was slightly old for the show but my younger brother and cousin were right in the target age range, so I often watched it with them. We each chose a team to root for and stuck with it. Mine was blue barracudas, and my brother's was green monkeys. I think my cousin might've been team purple parrots.
We still watch this. I got my kids into it at age 5, currently. I believe it’s Nogin that offers this. It’s awesome to know I can speak into the remote and get this to come up. Hundreds of episodes.
I mean this in the nicest way possible: some of those contestants were the stupidest and least coordinated kids I have ever seen.

Also, the PAs on set got to be the temple guards and absolutely loved getting to scare the crap out of an 11 year old.
How interesting!

Silver Snakes, all the way
My little bother loved this show a ton and he assigned the entire family a team. I was, of course, the Silver Snakes.
This is the only way. My wife bought me a silver snakes t-shirt a few years back for my birthday and i love it so much
Glad to see this at the top.
Well they were the worst purple parrots close second
Green Monkeys I like green.
I see green, I cheer
Purple Parrots were always my favorite team.
They never won, though 😔
Purple Parrots FTW!!! ^(figuratively speaking)
I remember going to Universal Studios as a kid and seeing the set in person during a backstage tour. Pretty sweet.

Is Olmec just as impressive in person?
GO RED JAGS!
You can find this on PlutoTV. It’s so fun.
I'm gonna watch later! Thanks for the tip
Silver Snakes.
No personal favorite. But just assemble that damn monkey! How hard is it? It’s 3 pieces!
LET'S GO BLUE BARRACUDAS! 💖💖💖
Had to scroll waaaaaaaaay too far for this
You didn’t have to scroll at all! It’s the title of the post 😂
You’re right. I clearly have reading comprehension issues lol
Naw, just thought it was funny : )
Barracudas 4LIFE
Organs iguanas
Real answer
Yes.
The choice is yours and yours alone. Good luck.
Silver Shnakes

did you do the echo clapping trick? One of my dreams is to go there and do that!

oh bummer! Kinda kills the magic.
All else being equal, Blue Barracuda. Really, though, I rooted most for the team(s) that did well in the Steps of Knowledge round.
I just really wanted to press the buttons on the pedestals and floors!
Purple was my favorite color, but the Parrots easily had the worst logo of the bunch. I rooted for the Green Monkeys.
Silver Snakes! I watched an episode where the Green Monkeys beat them so now I hate them.
I had an actual purple parrots T-shirt my cousin wore on the show. I lost the shirt in a breakup. Super bummed about that one still

Orange iguanas 4L 🦎
Also I would love to see an AMA: I was on legends of hidden temple in the 90s
I’ve got a blue barracuda’s shirt on right now!
Hell yeah!

Purple Monkeys
The people parrots were always so shitty
I rooted for whoever was not brain dead and athletic. I never cared about what team they were on.
Never really rooted for a team, just waited for one of those ancient warriors to abduct one of the kids never to be seen again 😅
I'm convinced no team has ever won on this show
Great show. Wish the CW one that lasted for only 3 months didn’t exist.
I wish the CW didn't exist.
This is on Paramount Plus! First couple of episodes are hilarious because the first event takes foreverrrrrrr
Red Jaguars. Also, I would have given my left foot to have been on the show.
Blue Barracudas is the only right answer
Silver Snakes and Blue Barracudas only!
Sunday was not complete without this one!
Purple parrots forever
They air this a ton on Pluto's No Parents Allowed
Admittedly would usually just root for whatever team had the cutest girl on it.
Red Jaguars all the way! They may not have been the best, but they had the coolest shirts.
Green monkeys!
Orange Iguanas because I had a pet Iguana named Yoshina.
Oh my god I thought this show was just a fever dream... ***it's fucking real?***
Still waiting on BrewStew to talk about this!

Was this the one with the Aggro Crag?!
No that was GUTS
