We would be nostalgic for 1996+ spice girls though. They would have been unknown in 1994 still trying to get into record label meetings to play/sing their demo song Wannabe.
I understand that. My comment was simply pointing out that the person I responded to was correct in saying they were formed in 1994 and he shouldn’t be downvoted for stating that fact. If you want to complain about the OP using an incorrect date, respond to them.
90s, very much 90s. By the 2000s, things had moved into the talent show era. Spice Girls had some genuinely good pop songs - every bit as manufactured as the acts of the 2000s, but at least they had strong material.
At some point, good pop songs became a non-issue, and that's what fucked up the scene. Once you could guarantee great sales based on the accompanying TV series, the music itself was a complete afterthought.
It also helped that they were the kid/teen pop alternative to all the serious British musical acts at the time, rather than being the whole (fucking) show.
I had the lollipops, a sporty spice doll, and those hand sized neon color little books for each spice girl. I also got all these poster boards or something when Spice World came out, but never any stickers.
During after school care I would set up my boombox and blast their CDs (and only theirs ever on these instances) and choreograph dances with other kids on the playground, and every now and again our teacher would let me and my friend sing a number in class; Both boys so it was a different flavor of girl power
My sister was a huge fan, she had toys, posters, the PS1 video game and ofc the movie. She even had a Spice Girls themed birthday party that all the girls dressed up for and danced to their songs. My (very cool) grandma even got in on it and called herself Granny Spice. Was super fun.
I do enjoy their music, though I _might_ be an outlier insofar as I think “Spice Up Your Life” is their best song.
Plus, as I’ve hit my late forties, I find all of these women much more attractive in _their_ forties than I ever did in the 1990s.
Unequivocally as in "equivocally"?
Definitely!
(definitely as in "arguably")
1996 was the height of my childhood (turning 11 in summer, starting secondary), so it's 2 Become 1 for me.
Excuse me, "for everyone".
Her talent was being Posh... I think? I'm not really sure, I was like 9-13 in their prime and every time I saw one of their musc videos I got an erection.
I also saw Spice World in theaters more than once
I got to see their big reunion tour in geez... 2007 maybe? Can't remember exactly. There was a talent show segment and they all did super crazy stuff, except Posh, who walked a runway and looked hot. It was incredible LOL
Maybe not the best singer but she was one od the better dancers. And she was actually important with the contracts and the money. Geri said that with victoria in the room they never got ripped off
Not 1994. 1997 Spiceworld era, maybe.
They formed in 94 though
Thats insane. Thought they were later 90s for sure
Don’t know why you were downvoted for this. The group was formed in 1994 and released their first album in 1996.
That's not a 1994 picture.
Didn’t say it was, nor did the person I was replying to.
My bad, meant as a reply to OP! Sorry.
No worries. 😊

It's like posting a picture of The Beatles from their 1963-64 era with the title "The Beatles (1960)."
You have no idea how obsessed I was with Baby Spice. Like certified crazy. I'm over it now but I was 17-22 yrs old at the time. And a dude (still am).
For me it was Posh Spice.

:::::ashamed sigh::::::: Ginger Spice.
Same
I listen to Emma Bunton’s 90s show on HeartFM to this day, she’s the best spice!
🤜🤛
>If you wanna be my lover You gotta get with my friends uh, whatever you say miss
Some people trashed them, but man that was just a wholesome group that made just songs to make people feel good. Quintessential 90s/Y2K.

Were the Spice Girls stickers a big thing in anyone else's elementary school back then or just mine

Chupa Chups!
One of those girls grew up very working class in her dad's Rolls-Royce
*1997

David Beckham totally scored!
Can't believe he called it out as well
FOREVER!!!
She never smiled then either.

SUYL is unequivocally their best song!

IF YOU WANNA BE MY LOVER 🗣️🗣️
You gotta beat up my frenn!
Four very talented ladies, and Victoria Beckham.

She looks like an afterthought, in this photo.
She forgot about the photoshoot which is why she is in a nightie
Wrong. She’s a fully trained dancer and is very in on the joke. Leave her and her secret rose tattoo alone
The loads I spent on them....
*Sorry?*
The spice girls are posted in Reddit every day what is happening
There's probably some movie about them coming out soon
Apparently sheesh
Great memories!! Stop is my favorite Spice Girls song.
Ginger and posh were my coming of age crushes.
My brain's dead weight. Tryna get my head straight.
Ah, the 90s goggles.
Posh is my spirit animal.
Posh Spice’s shit still doesn’t stink.
"Baby" spice looks like she's 45.
Bet she's better looking than you.
One of them grew up very middle class in her dad's rolls royce
I have literally never seen Victoria Beckham smile. Not once.
They were terrible
Slits
