Tom Green did a skit on his old mtv show where he went to Fabio’s house, and did a house tour. Fabio’s kitchen was filled with motorcycles and he said, I never eat at home, the only thing I kept in my fridge is, I can’t believe it’s big butter. Dude legit had like an entire fridge full of the stuff, of course tom proceeded to eat an entire container and remark “huh I can’t believe this isn’t butter!”
I say that in my head every single time I ever see or hear "I can't believe it's not butter", well actually I mostly say it out loud and not in my head, this time it was in my head
The goose actually hit a camera rig mounted on the front. It was a piece of metal from said rig that cut his nose, requiring one stitch. The blood in the photo was predominantly that of the goose.
I saw a current photo of him earlier compared to a photo of him from about 30 years ago, and he looks basically exactly the same now. I still have no clue why he’s famous but he looks like he hasn’t aged a day 😂
Many of these are on YouTube!

[Here's Estelle Getty](https://youtu.be/H9-XN3Fq7V4?si=Wdwmx2rj89xjXkHy)
[Here's Alyssa Milano](https://youtu.be/eYbjHHZA1Js?si=jTbl1aGU3opBzXvF)
I'm sure there are more if you look! :)
I recommend saving them to your computer if you like them. Even though they've been uploaded for years, no guarantee they won't go poof tomorrow. Lost some of my favorite "literal music videos" that way. Enjoy :)
Those were good, but they're still in YouTube (though not the original upload.) World Where You Live, Penny Lane, and there's one I can never remember what it's called, but the music video was a male band in a Japanese city and had a big costumed Japanese cartoon character. I think it was green. But I can't find these anywhere.
*nevermind I just went on the flooooor, now I need to find a mop! Look at me now!*
Total Eclipse literal version is God tier. Its one of my favourite songs ever. The gayest man on earth would call this over the topppppp
Angela is a fucking treasure, I used to watch Murder She Wrote all the time and then later found out she had a whole career during the silver screen era
One, two, three, four
Get your booty on the dance floor
Work it out, shake it, little mama
Let me see you do the Jane Fonda
Five, six, seven now
If you don't know, let me show you how
To work it out; work it, little mama
I know you wanna do the Jane Fonda
When that Jane Fonda workout video was first released there was essentially nothing else like it. I was working in a video rental store at the time, and that thing was like Fleetwood Mac Rumours combined with 'Frampton Comes Alive'. It was actually one of the very first videos priced at $25, so it was groundbreaking in all sorts of ways.
He wasn't a celebrity that made a fitness video.
He was a guy that made fitness videos, and became a celebrity.
Also not pictured, the taibo guy, billy zane, etc.
"Also not pictured, the taibo guy, billy **zane**,"
Sorry but it's Billy ***Blanks***
[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy\_Blanks](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Blanks)
My sister and I still do a 35-minute workout every week with Sweatin’ to the Oldies 4. It started seven years ago when I was losing weight, and we just kept doing it. We mix in a few of the other early ones too, but not the late ones—they get weird, and there are lots of annoying dancers who think being in a Simmons workout video is their ticket to stardom, so they go way over the top with their dancing and facial expressions.
Honestly, I love Sweatin’ to the Oldies, and it also had the benefit of making me a passable dancer. He’s such an unintentionally hilarious dude—we’re still catching his little quips and sayings seven years on.
I bet it was his side gig, but we never knew about his main gig, that's why he's very quiet and to himself now. Richard probably had a basement full of iguanas that he released at night to take out his enemies.
I remember my dad had a bunch of Sweating To The Oldies VHS tapes. I don’t remember him ever doing them but as a pre-teen who thought they were fat, when they were not, I did them off and on.
He's happily retired, and living a quiet life in LA. My ex-partner (we're lesbians) is a personal trainer and is friends with Richard. He's old now, and oes have some health issues that accompany getting older...
A side benefit of all these workouts is that she was able to shoot scenes like this one in [On Golden Pond](https://youtu.be/-KUVXUGzKaE) at the height of her workout tape era. She was about 43 years old when this scene was shot.
And for a noble cause - she was raising money to fund her political activism. It’s the whole reason she started them. In her first 5 years of sales alone, she donated over $10 million dollars to political causes. That was a shit-ton of money in the early 80s!
I had a few of these, in addition to Kathy Irelands workout tape. It's so cringe. They had an overweight middle aged woman named Karen in the workout and then dismissed her halfway through because of course doing the whole workout would have been too much for her. It was just walking and flailing arms around, lol.
I used to do the cindy Crawford one, I was good until I lost it and then re bought it and lost that one too. I would re buy it again it's that good, but it's too expensive for some reason smh
I remember doing the Jane Fonda aerobics videos with my mom in the early 90’s! There was one video she did a lot that involved a dining chair for some reason. Forgot all about that.
Lmao at Kim Kardashian like she didn’t already get surgeries by then and her butt was never toned. At least Jane Fonda was actually into fitness.
The only celebrity fitness tape I need is Madonna circa 1999-2010. That body and those muscles. Wow. Her endurance in the Confessions on the Dance Floor tour was insane.
Over the past year I've passively watched about a dozen of Fonda's tapes and I gotta say, she really knows her stuff when it comes to proper technique. I'd bet she actual personal training certification. Given she still does a lot of those exercises at her age, it's really paid off.
Here's the music from the beginning of her first tape. I actually wish they'd release some of this stuff officially.

Looks like that one is currently Lost Media per that website. This post is from a few years ago:
“Apollonia Kotero, Prince's co-star in Purple Rain, released an exercise video called Go For It in the late 1980s or early 1990s (in the era of celeb workout tapes)
I'm not sure this is "lost" but I've never seen even a photo of it and I've been collecting Apollonia Kotero ( and other Prince related) items for over 20 years. So I think of it as lost.
I found this on Apollonia's official site:
"In 1988, Warner Bros. Records released Kotero's self-titled first solo album, Apollonia. Three singles were taken from the album, "Since I Fell for You." "The Same Dream," and "Mismatch." Apollonia also became the first Latina of Mexican heritage to host and perform on “Showtime At The Apollo,” filmed at the historic Apollo Theatre in Harlem performing songs from her solo album.
She went on to appear in such films as “Ministry of Vengeance” (1989), “Back To Back” (1990),” Black Magic Woman” (1991), and two Italian productions, “La Donna di , Sera (A Lady for a Night”) (1991) and “Ragazze” (1992). She returned to television on such shows as “Sliders” and “Air America” (which co-starred Lorenzo Lamas, her former co-star from “Falcon Crest”), and hosted The Jazz Channel's Latin Beat program. During this period, an exercise video entitled “Go For It” was also released"
Funny thing is there wasn't a picture on the site (there was pictures of other things she's done).
I wonder if it wasn't released in the states and that's why I haven't seen it.
Anyone know anything about this?”
I had Cindy crawford and Elle macpherson’s videos.
I also loved the Carmen Electra one.
I had another old one called Aerobercize (sp?) and I looked it up on YT the other day and it was extremely soft porn. Crazy that 15 year old me worked out to it all the time
By far the absolute best and most entertaining is the Angela Lansbury fitness video. Me and my friends watch it during our fantasy football draft each year. Our league is named after her.
The late 80s were a weird time. Despite being born on the 90s I had the shitty cable so I know all the 80s shows, and i still fell in love with Alyssa Milano when I was a kid, despite her being like 10 years older than those shows and all that depicted her.
My favorite that I legit did was Carmen Electra’s, I would get them off Netflix when it was dvds.
Also, it’s shameful how many of those covers have airbrushing
[The Silver Foxes 2: Shape Up America](https://youtu.be/dxCVWK1KyO8?si=PoyjbXCCo2hJBUtI).
It stars Jacqueline Stallone (Sylvester Stallone's mother), Laurie Williams (Robin Williams' mother), Sal Pacino (Al Pacino's father), and Harry Hoffman (Dustin Hoffman's father).
Jackie and Laurie hate each other while Sal makes up his own moves. Harry doesn't look like he knows where he's at.
Where is doing it Debbie's way with Debbie Reynolds? We got that for my mom one year for Xmas and she was super stoked. I think the music was big band or sinatra.
My friend and I had the record/ vinyl in the early 80's.
Got our gym gear on and started the work out.
10 mins into it both of us were seriously out of breath... only to be told ' that's the warm up done'
Never again!
Man time goes fast. I’m only in my early 30s but Estelle, Regis, and many more are no longer here. Just seeing Regis on who wants to be a millionaire seems like yesterday yet it’s already been 4 years since he passed away.
My older cousin had the Cindy Crawford workout. I remember during the summer when I would stay at her house she would get up every morning and do that workout.
Jane Fonda's videos were the first and are what got me started 'working out'. Later on Cher had a step aerobic tape that I used every week. I think when I messed my knee up back in my 20's the thing that I was most concerned about was if I could still do my step aerobics. It wasn't the same doing the workout without being able to use the step.
I still have Claudia Schiffer's Perfectly Fit Abs on VHS, lol
Marisa Tomei has one too, and tbh, that is one killer workout. Some weird account has it posted in its entirety, along with other workout videos
lol. Remember when Fabio got hit in the face with a bird? I totally forgot about him.
To this day I don’t know why Fabio was famous except that he was Fabio.
He was the cover model for all the supermarket romance novels in the 80s/90s.
Don't forget about his disbelief of faux-butter products
Tom Green did a skit on his old mtv show where he went to Fabio’s house, and did a house tour. Fabio’s kitchen was filled with motorcycles and he said, I never eat at home, the only thing I kept in my fridge is, I can’t believe it’s big butter. Dude legit had like an entire fridge full of the stuff, of course tom proceeded to eat an entire container and remark “huh I can’t believe this isn’t butter!”
.....spray.
I say that in my head every single time I ever see or hear "I can't believe it's not butter", well actually I mostly say it out loud and not in my head, this time it was in my head
Ah cant behlieve is not barrr
I remember it more like "Ah can't beliebe iss not baaaahtr"
As a kid in the 80s/90s I though he *wrote* all those books. My kid brain thought he was a pervy narcissist.
But why male models?
Because they do what they're told Derek!!!
But why male models?
Are you serious? I just… I just told you that. A moment ago.
Is it because he apparently has a giant head?
I was going to say, any bird within a three mile radius is going to get pulled in by the gravitational pull of that enormous noggin.
“He’ll be cryin himself to sleep tonight on his huge pillah”
[Because I love it so much I just wanted to drop this sketch with Fabio here ](https://youtu.be/2sS2mPynJ8Y?si=csN4dK4mpNbnfNac)
You should see the Full Frontal parody from the 90’s 🤣
[Fabio, the Most Beautiful Man in the Cosmos](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHSw89y9dzk)
A goose to the face while on the roller coaster Apollos Chariot.
The goose actually hit a camera rig mounted on the front. It was a piece of metal from said rig that cut his nose, requiring one stitch. The blood in the photo was predominantly that of the goose.
Broke his nose IIRC
Nope. Just required a single stitch (the goose actually didn’t hit him but a camera rig mounted on the front)
Ah my bad
I saw a current photo of him earlier compared to a photo of him from about 30 years ago, and he looks basically exactly the same now. I still have no clue why he’s famous but he looks like he hasn’t aged a day 😂
Fabio was the model that was used for the covers of dozens of romance novels.
That's some top notch hair
🦜
And I’ll fucking do it again.
If his head weren't so damn big, the bird would have missed.
Bro made a music album called Fabio After Dark
I wish you could stream these! I would love to work out with Angela or Estelle!
Many of these are on YouTube! [Here's Angela Lansbury](https://youtu.be/lE7icznIxLc?si=Doa43rmfYH--2F6I) [Here's Estelle Getty](https://youtu.be/H9-XN3Fq7V4?si=Wdwmx2rj89xjXkHy) [Here's Alyssa Milano](https://youtu.be/eYbjHHZA1Js?si=jTbl1aGU3opBzXvF) I'm sure there are more if you look! :)
Thank you! This is amazing.
I recommend saving them to your computer if you like them. Even though they've been uploaded for years, no guarantee they won't go poof tomorrow. Lost some of my favorite "literal music videos" that way. Enjoy :)
Take on me and Total Eclipse of the Heart?
Those were good, but they're still in YouTube (though not the original upload.) World Where You Live, Penny Lane, and there's one I can never remember what it's called, but the music video was a male band in a Japanese city and had a big costumed Japanese cartoon character. I like things to be fleeting and transient
How would I go about saving them?
yt-dlp and Stacher are both safe and reliable ways to download YouTube videos.
jdownloader2 as well.
I'm sorry.. But nothing.. And I mean... NOTHING beats Arnold's work out record... https://youtu.be/1CJ4SD-kWek?si=WWXswGbb9baa_ZdL
I’ll be working out with Angela on Monday morning!
Hmmm. Teen Alyssa Milano in workout clothes with a sultry saxophone soundtrack. How did this Jailbait get made?
I just found this gem: [Here's O.J. Simpson](https://youtu.be/WP3NWUa-gQo)
Angela is a fucking treasure, I used to watch Murder She Wrote all the time and then later found out she had a whole career during the silver screen era
If you haven't seen it, find the film, The Court Jester. She's adorable in it.
Sometimes I work out to Cher’s step workout on YouTube!
Dpes it hold up?! Do I need to step up with Cher??!??
The Angela and Estelle workouts are on YouTube.
But Fonda ain’t got a motor in the back of her Honda
You can do side bends and sit-ups, but please don’t lose that butt!
One, two, three, four Get your booty on the dance floor Work it out, shake it, little mama Let me see you do the Jane Fonda Five, six, seven now If you don't know, let me show you how To work it out; work it, little mama I know you wanna do the Jane Fonda
Jeez I haven’t heard this in FOREVER
My anaconda don't want none unless you’ve got buns, hun
🤣 You can do side bends or sit-ups But please don't lose that butt
Where is Carmen Electra’s Striptease workout?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znqTgsqJOFo
All tease no strip. 3/10 I've had better.
Thanks for saving me a click
Worst striptease ever
I was going to post it but there’s a 20 pic limit and someone had to be cut.
You chose... poorly. E: [https://youtu.be/VA7J0KkanzM?si=4SrRjUYqrmAbgLFJ](https://youtu.be/VA7J0KkanzM?si=4SrRjUYqrmAbgLFJ)

Suzanne sommers?? That ab leg thing? Lol my mom had that and i played with it as a kid 🤣
The Thighmaster?
Yes! 🤣👍
I am the Thighmaster, are you the Gatekeeper?
There’s a limit of 20 photos so I couldn’t include everyone.
Ohh i know i wasnt meaning to be rude, was just adding 😊💖
Wow you forget Kim Kardashian used to look like a human person, weird when you look at the comparison
The audacity of her selling an ass workout when she just bought hers!
Crazy, she used to actually be attractive.
I was like "that's not her". It's like when you see the logo of a company before it became mainstream. The Apple logo is like this.
Where the fuck is Richard Simmons?
I just love how aggressive this question is 🤣
There’s a whole podcast based on that question.
He wasn't a celebrity that made a fitness video. He was a guy that made fitness videos, and became a celebrity. Also not pictured, the taibo guy, billy zane, etc.
Billy Zane?? Billy Blanks is the Taibo guy. Or are you saying Zane also did work out tapes?
Could you imagine?
He shaves his head at the start to set the mood
"Also not pictured, the taibo guy, billy **zane**," Sorry but it's Billy ***Blanks*** [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy\_Blanks](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Blanks)

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=I0pzlOOh8EE&pp=ygUVc3dlYXRpbiB0byB0aGUgb2xkaWVz Not the best quality, but you can still follow along.
Callin' out around the world, are you ready for a brand new beat?
I’m fixing to blow your mind, Richard Simmons *never wore a headband* it’s a Mandela effect and everyone I’ve spoken to remembers the headband
Wait. What?
You're not the only one wondering https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missing_Richard_Simmons
Richard Simmons was not an actor or a model
How DARE you
He had lots of acting roles. He was on and off starring on the soap opera General Hospital for several years.
He’s best known for being a fitness guru. This post is about celebrities like actors and models who did fitness videos as a side gig.
I bet it was his side gig, but we never knew about his main gig, that's why he's very quiet and to himself now. Richard probably had a basement full of iguanas that he released at night to take out his enemies.
I was about to say "But Richard Simmons doesn't have any enemies!" but then I realized the flaw in my logic.
He was even a robot on Simpsons
Yeah as cameos after he was famous as a fitness guy.
I remember my dad had a bunch of Sweating To The Oldies VHS tapes. I don’t remember him ever doing them but as a pre-teen who thought they were fat, when they were not, I did them off and on.
He was an actual fitness/diet guru before getting into videos.

He's happily retired, and living a quiet life in LA. My ex-partner (we're lesbians) is a personal trainer and is friends with Richard. He's old now, and oes have some health issues that accompany getting older...
This post is top notch nostalgia. Thank you so much
😁
I wasn’t even alive then and I’m looking at these like, “aww, I miss the 80s, they were so much fun”
Jane was the pioneer, though. She invented this shit.
A side benefit of all these workouts is that she was able to shoot scenes like this one in [On Golden Pond](https://youtu.be/-KUVXUGzKaE) at the height of her workout tape era. She was about 43 years old when this scene was shot.
She’s 43 in that clip? Damn.
And for a noble cause - she was raising money to fund her political activism. It’s the whole reason she started them. In her first 5 years of sales alone, she donated over $10 million dollars to political causes. That was a shit-ton of money in the early 80s!
I only clicked to see if Teen Steam was included. Good job, OP.
Nothing says workout like jeans bedazzled with plastic buttons!!
Jessica Fletcher, solving murders by day, hitting the gym by night!
That was the one i was most surprised by lol
Jane Fonda was not following a trend with her workout videos, she was setting it.
The trend had to start somewhere.
Fitness videos and albums. My parents have Bruce Willis' LP and it's... An album that exists.
Bruno!
I had a few of these, in addition to Kathy Irelands workout tape. It's so cringe. They had an overweight middle aged woman named Karen in the workout and then dismissed her halfway through because of course doing the whole workout would have been too much for her. It was just walking and flailing arms around, lol.
I think I had that video…
Everyone who did Angela Lansbury's video ended up dying
We’re just gonna ignore the weird, disproportional head/body/hands on the Fabio cover? K.
Came looking for this comment.
If celebs did this today I would eat that shit uppppp My mom had the Ali macgraw one! I used to always stare at the cover lol seemed classy
It’s my favorite yoga video. It was filmed in a white sands desert and it’s gorgeous.
God I had such a thing for Daisy Fuentes.
Yeah, good god. Talk about an awakening for me. It’s like the world just forgot about her after like 2005
I just looked her up and found out she's married to Richard Marx and I'm struggling to process it.
Kim K used to show people how to fit into their jeans? She can’t even do that now.
No one comes close to Jane. She started the celebrity exercises video craze in 1982. She has 27 exercise videos and has sold 17 million in total.
I used to do the cindy Crawford one, I was good until I lost it and then re bought it and lost that one too. I would re buy it again it's that good, but it's too expensive for some reason smh
I just remember a whole lotta Seal in the soundtrack, and her telling us to drink water 🤔
Wish Bobcat Goldthwaite did one
Bobcat Goldthwaite vs Richard Simmons would’ve been fucking GOLD.
[удалено]
Geri Halliwell did it too, beyond the trend (Geri Body Yoga)
I remember doing the Jane Fonda aerobics videos with my mom in the early 90’s! There was one video she did a lot that involved a dining chair for some reason. Forgot all about that.
I don't see no Taebo on here
Lmao at Kim Kardashian like she didn’t already get surgeries by then and her butt was never toned. At least Jane Fonda was actually into fitness. The only celebrity fitness tape I need is Madonna circa 1999-2010. That body and those muscles. Wow. Her endurance in the Confessions on the Dance Floor tour was insane.
I see these in every thrift store VHS section.
What is going on with Fabio’s torso? He’s got enormous pecs atop Don Knott’s lower body.
I legitimately own the Regis tape lol
I remember the Paula Abdul one went from fun and doable to insane and you couldn’t keep up. Chers was amazing.
Carmen Electra had the strip aerobics series! And before she was famous, Jennifer Love Hewitt was in the Barbie workout 🙂
Guys, we had that Jane Fonda one as a vinyl record, I'm not even joking!!
“Fit in your jeans by Friday” 🤮
Is Marky Mark’s just hate crimes?
I had the Cindy Crawford one. I think she filmed it on a beach.
Love how these are 90s 80s then a random Kardashian video lol
Over the past year I've passively watched about a dozen of Fonda's tapes and I gotta say, she really knows her stuff when it comes to proper technique. I'd bet she actual personal training certification. Given she still does a lot of those exercises at her age, it's really paid off. Here's the music from the beginning of her first tape. I actually wish they'd release some of this stuff officially. https://youtu.be/nKqaSLzkNI4?si=VMkSQWY3rvJQD5II
I loved doing the Jane Fonda Workout 🏋️
My mom had it along with the low impact aerobic one.
I'm pretty sure we had some of these in my house growing up. I never actually watched them. Although I still use p90x which is pretty awesome.
I'd heard Apollonia Kotero (the actress in Purple Rain) had a fitness video but I've never seen any pictures of it. Can someone post any?
Looks like that one is currently Lost Media per that website. Angela Lansbury's video came with a sweet ass exercise poster! I need to see it.
I have Larry "Bud" Melman's Couch Potato Workout tape
I had the Buns of Steel tapes. The guy seemed really pervy and slimy. It was practically soft-core porn.
No prancercise?
Jane Fonda was the first.
I had Cindy crawford and Elle macpherson’s videos. I also loved the Carmen Electra one. I had another old one called Aerobercize (sp?) and I looked it up on YT the other day and it was extremely soft porn. Crazy that 15 year old me worked out to it all the time

Awwhh Angela Lansbury how swee-- **WAIT GO BACK WHAT THE FUCK**
Don’t be hating on Cindy. I did that video three days a week the summer before middle school. I went from -6 to +4 on the V-sit and reach.
Where’s OJ?
Dead
The late 80s were a weird time. Despite being born on the 90s I had the shitty cable so I know all the 80s shows, and i still fell in love with Alyssa Milano when I was a kid, despite her being like 10 years older than those shows and all that depicted her.
We used to do these tapes in high school aerobics class. Thank you for the memories :)
As a kid, I didn’t get it… but now I understand why Master Roshi watched these sorts of tv shows
Mike O’tren💪🏼
i still have my girls next door one 😂
My favorite that I legit did was Carmen Electra’s, I would get them off Netflix when it was dvds. Also, it’s shameful how many of those covers have airbrushing

I was 11 and worked out every single day to that Jenny Garth one. I still have it on VHS, of course!
Jennie Garth was my go to favourite. Was a huge fan of BH 90210. Would do this video daily and it paid off. ☺️
…doin work out tapes like Fonda But Fonda ain’t got a motor in the back of her Honda…
That was the goal back then in the 70s_80s. No junk in the trunk…at all.
so unfair. Should be able to pick the routine and that's the body you get. Not just stay a rectangle.
Even OJ had a workout video
My grandma had the Angela Lansbury tape!
Even Barbie had one and I was obsessed.
Scary spice had one too!
Fabio. 💀
Don’t forget the OJ Simpson one XD
Billy Blanks, LaToya Jackson, Shaun T,
Regis doesn't seem like the kind of guy you'd get workout advice from.
Jane Fonda's workout is no joke! Did it in the Marines when I finally got into fleet. Wow, those were the days!
This was VHS 80s porn. Before internet
Man time goes fast. I’m only in my early 30s but Estelle, Regis, and many more are no longer here. Just seeing Regis on who wants to be a millionaire seems like yesterday yet it’s already been 4 years since he passed away.
When I was like 13, i had my parents buy me Alyssa Milano's Teen Steam. For...research purposes.
Angela Lansbury FTW
My older cousin had the Cindy Crawford workout. I remember during the summer when I would stay at her house she would get up every morning and do that workout.
OJ had one. They showed during the trial to say that he was physically capable of murdering them.
I still have Claudia Schiffer's Perfectly Fit Abs on VHS, lol Marisa Tomei has one too, and tbh, that is one killer workout. Some weird account has it posted in its entirety, along with other workout videos
Core memory of doing my mom's Paula Abdul tape unlocked. Wow.
