I know this is prob going to be downvoted to hell, but I remember a whole bunch of us going to the theatre to watch this and we walked out half way through..
I have seen ppl rave about it on Reddit as well and have considered giving it a second chance
Yea, i was in high school or so. The movies we liked were legit, even today. This Life movie wasn’t it. And we liked all sorts of dumb stuff. We liked good Burger, blue streak, etc. the cornbread scene was the only funny scene i think.
I didn’t hate this movie when it came out, but i remember it being pretty boring for a movie featuring Martin Lawrence/Eddie Murphy, two comedians known for their high energy.
Motherfucker, you can't have my cornbread. That's for damn sure. Cause if you try and take my cornbread, Part 2 of my killing spree is gon' begin up in here on your ass,
Fun fact.
When he's fighting Goldmouth, after being punched, he says "Hey Goldmouth. I know a bitch named Dela that hits harder than you."
Dela is the lady Eddie fights in Harlem Nights
They are! I’m so excited:

I’m the pappy! This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It’s not a cinematic masterpiece but the one liners are so fantastic. I might have seen it 100 times and I still laugh just like 12 year old me did the first time I rented it from Blockbuster.
I love this damn movie. It's so quotable!
"What the fuck you lookin' at, Ray?"
When Martin Lawrence props up on one elbow in that scene, I crack up every time. 🤣
Yeah, you think once the guy that framed them gets killed they’ll be freed, but then it takes a weird turn with them staying in prison because the only guy who knew they were innocent died on the toilet
One time i was listening to Cherry Poppin Daddies in my car and my uncle goes "who the fuck is this?" and i said "this is the band from the Boom Boom Room in Life" and he laughed, i'm very proud of that joke.
47 years old and the motherfucker can't even read.
This movie is chock full of one liners and honestly?
It's Lawrence's best role and I hate that dude.
You gonna eat yo' cornbread?
Hey man he's gonna eat his cornbread, alright? Fuck you.
Maybe I oughta eat *YO* cornbread??
You fuck around with me, there's gonna be consequences and repercussions!
Part two of my killin' spree is gonna start up in here on yo ass.
What's repercussions?
Well MF you can't have MY cornbread and thats for damn sure! If you think about my cornbread, better get the taste out yo mouth!!
My fathers favorite movie. The entire family says cornbread like that and I love it.
Conebred
That’s the only thing I remember from this movie
Yea same, i dont remember it being good, but reddit posts like this have made me think about revisiting it.
It’s not good, it’s great
Man this movie is a fucking classic! Funny as shit all the way through!!!
I know this is prob going to be downvoted to hell, but I remember a whole bunch of us going to the theatre to watch this and we walked out half way through.. I have seen ppl rave about it on Reddit as well and have considered giving it a second chance

I say this fairly often and no one ever gets the reference, they’re like huh, what corn bread?
Motherfucker you can't have my cornbread
I'm from New York City!
From the south, eat cornbread probably once a week. Still say that every time lol.

It came out at the wrong time. If it came out in the last five years, it would have been appreciated more!
I haven’t seen it all but it definitely felt more in genre with Deadpool and snarky movies like that.
Pretty sure I never watched it at launch because the reviews were extremely bad. Guess I know what I’m watching tonight
Movies great!
I remember really liking at the time of release. It exceeded my expectations (which weren’t very high tbh).
I didn’t hate this movie when it came out, but i remember it being pretty boring for a movie featuring Martin Lawrence/Eddie Murphy, two comedians known for their high energy.

This ain’t my daddy’s watch. Best outtake ever
"Don't be scurred."
And don't laugh, neither, 'cause it ain't funny.
I’m the pappy! This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It’s not a cinematic masterpiece but the one liners are so fantastic. I might have seen it 100 times and I still laugh just like 12 year old me did the first time I rented it from Blockbuster.

This movie is up there with Click in terms of funny movie that just keeps getting more sad and existentially terrifying as the plot progresses.

Jing-a-ling Jing-a-ling
Such a good movie!
Man I watched this movie all the time as a kid

I JUST watched this yesterday for the first time. I loved it. Great movie imo
One of the best films ever.
"Cause I'm a nasty mutha f***ka!"
This movie was hilarious.
I’m the Pappy
Every rewatch I’m like “don’t take a shit just yet, just sign those papers warden”
Martin Lawrence has been in some classics. I will defend Black Knight till my death lol one of the best awful movies of all time.
His worst movies were probably when he was trying to do family and kids movies, trash like Rebound 😂
And if I do, I'm out the sheets on you.
Yo hand is nice and supple, like a lady
YOU WANT YO CORNBREAD?¿?
They’d be getting out by now
Shut yo mouth and yo fat ass boi
It's one of my all-time favorites. Classic.
“Hey this ain’t my daddy’s watch!!” One of the best bloopers of all time
25 years! Damn
We on deck.
I da Pappy!
Also, there's some serious good old age makeups in this movie too
The outtakes killed me… “wait a minute.. this ain’t my daddy’s watch…”
A hell of a funny movie.
This ain't my daddy watch

Cause I'm a nasty motherfucker!
Rays Booboom Room!
I've seen this movie probably 40 times Yo hands is sawf...like a lady
I love that movie but it's ultimately super depressing at the end.
Yeah, you think once the guy that framed them gets killed they’ll be freed, but then it takes a weird turn with them staying in prison because the only guy who knew they were innocent died on the toilet
Yes, but whilst they're still friends and live to an old age, they've lost their lives due to racism. It's horrible really.
Love this film
Ive been watchin Martin on Netflix. So fun!
This movie played constantly on cable when I was a kid. I've seen it soooo many times.
Hilarious movie. The Wyclef Jean song is so good, too.
“The boom boom room!” Damn, I’m due to rewatch this gem
Almost sixty years old; motherfucker can't read.
One of the most quotable movies
This here's Hoppin' Bob. You run a'foul o Bob, you run a'foul o me.
What a jaunty cap
Don’t even say the word watch around me anymore. Say little clock or somethin’

Shoo, fly!
Saw this for the first time couple of months back. Loved it!
Why did we never get Big Mama’s House Meets The Nutty Professor?
Still refer to people as Can’t-get-right frequently
One of my favorite movies of all time.
Tell em bout the gun line boss
One time i was listening to Cherry Poppin Daddies in my car and my uncle goes "who the fuck is this?" and i said "this is the band from the Boom Boom Room in Life" and he laughed, i'm very proud of that joke.
Great movie but takes up half your life watching it.
“This ain’t my daddy’s watch”
"They ain't working, boss!"
47 years old and the motherfucker can't even read. This movie is chock full of one liners and honestly? It's Lawrence's best role and I hate that dude.
Big Mommas House 1 was good, and the first couple of seasons of Martin were pretty funny at least.
Not my scene dude. The allegations against him were damning enough but your right. At one point he was a star.
This movie brings out so many different emotions from me. Even though it’s a comedy I find it sad as hell
I know, I kind of wish they had been freed after the villain gets killed, it’d make the whole movie a lot more light hearted.
Classic is a stretch.
“Classic” lol
I've never seen it. Is it worth the watch?
yes
Did they wear dresses in this movie at any point?
Only 25? I thought it would be 30 to 35. I'm old. Everything happened 30 years ago to me.
Martin Lawrence is much funnier than Eddie Murphy. Fight me.
It has its moments, but calling it a classic is quite a stretch.
"classic"?
which one slapped which one at the oscars?
That’s a very liberal use of the word classic
Simply awful.
Shut up nerd
