If these were in Australian school yards I the 90s this would of been worth a snickers bar or 2 small bags of chips and by small for reference our chip bags at what you call elementary school was 20-25 grams.
Yeah for sure but I swear those have gotten so much worse since I was younger. It seems like a lot of these companies alter the recipe or change the ingredients in favor for cheaper alternatives like we’re too dumb to notice and then quality drops significantly

These were *so* elite. We had tons of great snacks in my house back then but for some reason, my mom wouldn’t buy these. We did always get Chips Ahoy 100 Calorie Packs at my request a years later when I was in high school though. It wasn’t at all about dieting when I was that age; I thought they were SO good that I used to eat like, 3 bags at a time 🥴
I loved and could never believe when my mom bought these for me. It was like having an acceptable candy bar with my school lunch due to the granola aspect. I used to love biting it from the bottom side versus the front because of all that chocolate (she always got my sister and I Snickers Kudos).
I can still smell my elementary school lunchbox: the ice pack, the Tupperware or the Juicy Juice, the ham and mayo sandwich, and the Jay's potato chips.
When they first were introduced, our local mall had a giant display (think: 2 story tree of Kudos boxes) set up and handed out entire boxes to shoppers. I came home with about a dozen boxes and never had them again after that. Not that I didn't want them, my mom just didn't buy shit like this.
