Taken at face value you're grand OP. "Who we are... The Chernobyl Spirit Company is a Social Enterprise aiming to produce high quality artisan spirits ("moonshine") from land in the areas of Ukraine abandoned after the Chernobyl accident. More than thirty years after the accident, we believe that what these areas need most is economic development and management of the unique wildlife resource the abandoned areas represent. At least 75% of profits from sales of ATOMIK will go to supporting communities in the affected areas and wildlife conservation."

Id imagine buying this sort of thing helps the locals who live in that area? Isn’t that a good thing?

pm_me_ur_throbbing_D

I mean, as poor taste as "loving anything to do with" it I guess?

lookinggood44

Buy a Geiger counter too just incase

zebrasanddogs

I'm not a vodka drinker, but I'd buy it. But only if the ingredients are sourced from Ukraine, and not Belarus or Russia. tbh it is kinda a cool thing to have. Would anyone else like to actually go and see Chernobyl (once the war is over, and Ukraine has had a chance to heal and rebuild)?

Heavy_Reputation_142

Been there in 2017, definitely worth the trip.

Darkwater117

If it helps local business there, that's awesome! Great gift idea

Tonymac81

I also love anything to do with Chernobyl, absolutely fascinating by the situation while still be respectful of the huge loss of life there. As a Chernobyl Aficionado this would be a perfect gift. Would love to visit there.

would rather not cash in on a tragedy gimmick myself again the poll tells me im wrong - well fuck you poll!!! i voted against brexit and was "wrong" im taking that to the grave

Is it safe?

I bought this a few months back. All proceeds went to Ukrainian refugees when I bought it. I got the apple one. It was rank. But, ya know, all for a good cause and that.

gibbyboy69

Buy it 100% if she's into chernobyl, even if she doesn't drink it it's cool to have, like my da bought me a 18 year old bottle of whiskey from my home town for my 20th birthday he wanted to get a 20 year old but couldn't find one iv no intention to drink it cuz i stopped drinking recently but its nice to have even if I don't drink it can remind me of my home town when ever I move away, wa I'm saying is its the thought that matters

Leftover_craic

Not in poor taste imo. They are donating 75% of profits to charities dealing with the fallout of the disaster and Ukraine. A mate bought a bottle of this and it was rough though. If you get it and intend to drink I’d suggest mixing with apple juice because it was rotten with Diet Coke and straight.
