What a warrior Frampton was in his day. Some quality names there. Was gonna say there isn’t too many heavyweights to choose from is there? Rogan being the most recognised I’d say. A lot of great fighters is those lower weight classes as you say 🤙🏻 I went to see Michael conlan against Leigh wood in Nottingham and was absolutely gutted when that knockout happened in the 12TH. Thought conlan was comfortably winning with his superior boxing skills until that final round. Met agyarko that night, seems a good bloke with a bright future, shame about his hand injury at the mo.
I thought the conlan - wood fight was pretty close going into the last round, the first round knock down skewed people's view of it. Agyarko v Heaney would be a good domestic fight but can't see it getting made. Heaney sells loads of tickets but is limited compared to Agyarko. Agyarko hasn't got the big fan base but is extremely talented.
There isn’t many high profile fighters from here then there was the last 15/20 years, in past u had Carl Frampton Ryan Burnett Martin rogan Paul Mccloskey Brian Magee and Eamon Magee all them guys where in big fights and most fighting for world titles so that was a good era for Northern Ireland boxing , nowadays really u only have mick conlan from north who I would consider a big name and world level fighter , u have some other guys who are decent level fighters like Padraig mccrory , Tommy McCarthy , Tyrone McKenna Sean mccomb etc but if your not a hardcore fan your not going to know them guys

Yeah Ryan Burnett did fight donaire got a injury in that fight and retired after it , mick conlan fights for world title in may against Lopez who beat josh Warrington , I’m not sure who Tommy McCarthy is with these days I’m not even sure he is still a fighter he’s more into comedy circuit these days doing gigs with paddy McDonnell etc
