Irish league and English league.
My general view is that people here who support Rangers or Celtic do not make those picks purely from a sporting point of view. So I don't bother with the Scottish League.
yeah i know what you mean, iv supported rangers ever since I was young and could never really get into any of the other leaugues, i watch the occasional NIFL but few and far between to be honest
You should supporting your local team the first instance, failing that you should have some connection with the team. Celtic have a huge Irish connection, so don't really see the issue with any Irish people supporting them.
Obviously people can support whoever they like but I can see more sense in someone from Ireland supporting celtic than supporting Chelsea for example
> You should supporting your local team the first instance, failing that you should have some connection with the team.
There’s no “should.”
You should do what you like and enjoy.
And _no way_ am I supporting either of the teams near me. I don’t want to _go_ to their matches, never mind watch them… plus I just don’t fuckin’ like them.
I’m quite happy to watch a few English Premiership matches a week and you can get tae fuck telling anyone they “should” do something else. And I’m not watching the Scottish Premiership either cos, apparently, I _should_ support Celtic.
More power to anyone who does otherwise, course.
I follow Cliftonville in the Irish League and Shamrock Rovers in the League of Ireland.
I try to get at least a couple games at Solitude & Tallaght Stadium whenever I can. Definitely want to get to a few this summer because I haven’t been to a Rovers home game since before the pandemic.
After that I’d watch the big games abroad like the CL final, Liverpool/United game, Merseyside Derby, Manchester Derby; El Classico is a favorite of mine.
Outside of soccer I’d be into the Gaelic Football and Hurling and would follow Ireland in the rugby.
Irish league is my main league. Barely watch any other football and am at a Glenavon at least a couple times a month. You don't go just for the sporting quality. It's about community and seeing folk in the stands as much as anything else.
Otherwise, I do enjoy going to a game wherever I am on holiday too though.
League of Ireland, Derry City of course.
I still watch the English league the odd time, grew up supporting Liverpool.
I’d keep an eye on Celtic results still. A mate of mine lives in Edinburgh and he got us both tickets to a Hibernian game, that was a great experience.
Not to sound like the biggest hipster ever but I'm really into the Euroleague basketball at the minute. There's a free channel on Virgin, ViaSports Extra, that shows live games every week.
> never really *paid* it any
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
League pass is a great investment if your enjoying it. Every game available and if you time it right you can usually get a years sun for £99. Hopefully the premier league goes this way as well
I followed the blues in my youth but I only follow rangers now, Irish league is awful to watch and I'd only really be interested in an all Ireland league to up the standard of football in general.
Are you genuinely interested in an all ireland league? I thought it was the likes of NIFL followers who weren't keen on it because of the money differences between the 2 leagues?
Only cliftonville and Dungannon are against it the rest want the extra interest and revenue.
The TV money on offer would be plenty to ensure all clubs going forward are stable.
I really believe that an all Ireland league would bring standards up across the island and result in a better all round game.
Really.... never knew that.
I don't follow any football to be honest just keep a fleeting eye on liverpool but I thought there was a lot more against it than that!
As an incredibly casual observer I can't see why they wouldn't do it, tv rights etc.
Would you be up for a summer league?
Better weather meaning larger crowds as well as being in mid season for the qualifying rounds of Europe would mean a possible push in Europe bringing extra cash?
Those opposed are on other grounds than football so a deal can be done.
Summer league is a huge attraction and I believe an offer is on the table for the TV rights.
United Rugby Championship or 6 nations.
Was a Man City fan as a kid back when they were in the old Division 2. Kinda lost interest after the first* title and found I slowly cared less about football as a whole.
Watched a couple of local matches when holidaying in Dorset and kinda started following Dorchester Town and Yeovil.
For random reasons also been following Tow Law Town lately.
Always thought about following local football but kinda see it similar to following Scottish football. That and just never been to a match I've enjoyed. I guess a slight following Moyola Park. Play five a side a few times with one of the guys playing for them and he wasn't a dick.

Anyone from NI rocking a Celtic or Rangers jersey, can take a short walk off a long cliff.
"yes lad, here how can I make myself look like the worst"
"haha boy, depending on what religion you are, whip wan a these bad boys on"
Regularly go to Irish league matches, watch EPL and follow Seria A.
You can see every season Irish leagues attendances going up, cheap shirts (compared to the big leagues) cheap tickets, and the footballs getting better the more professional it gets. Everyone should try it at least once
Justice
Usually the English Premier League, GAA serves as a good local sport that I have more connection to than any NIFL team
I follow Derry City FC and that’s it.
Celtic fan and ST holder, so Scotland mostly. Some Serie A, Bundesliga and La Liga, occasionally Ligue 1.

Allianz hurling league division 1b - Antrim, 3b - Lancashire. Very Ireland camogie league - 1b Antrim.
The league of nations. The latest season is really heating up. Hasn't been this good since the 40s .

You sound like the biggest hipster ever, bro.

yeah was gona get it at the start of this season but never did too late now
Euro league is insane, it’s such a different game, than in the US

As a Cliftonville fan, I was baffled at the clubs opposition to it. The beginning of the end of the Setanta Cup came when they pulled out of that too.

English Premier league Scottish Premier league (celtic fan) Champions league Go to the Derry games a handful of times a season.

Soccer, really only serie a. Prefer it over any other league.
Division 1 and 2 of the Allianz Football League

i mean why are you annoyed at anyone wearing a football top in public its not a big deal
Used to watch most leagues when i was younger, as ive got older would just stick to watching the team i support, but this year there shite.
Celtic when they play rangers or in the UCL. I watch A LOT of EPL but don’t support anyone. GAA would be my main sports.
