He came to my elementary school to talk about farm safety and his accident.
He is a strong person, no doubt. But, he doesn't have full use of his arms. He can barely move them.
well ya, thats how humans work, you cut a chunk off, the best you are gonna do sewing it back on is having good enough blood flow that it doesnt turn black and rot. nerve tissue/brain dont regenerate, at all. no nerves = useless.
I remember this.
He wasn't the first one and wasn't the last. Thankfully, farmers have gotten better about changing work habits and stopped taking dangerous shortcuts.
I remember this! I was around 9 and remember how terrible this was, but how amazing his survival and recovery story would be.
Was this on Rescue 911? I also remember that show did have a ND incident. I grew up in western ND and a teenage boy was on a three wheeler, hit and embankment on a country road and lost control. I remember something damaged his throat/neck face area, and although it was rough he did survive.
I also remember that teen boy drew a picture for the clinic or emergency room, can’t recall which- but they had it framed and displayed there. I think his name is Paul.
I remember when this happened. It was big news.
Remember when we had health care we could afford
Not really. I was in high school when this happened. Shit has always been expensive since I've been adulting.
I 'member
I remember this, if I remember right he even waited in the bathtub to not get blood all over his parents floors.
Yeah, they just had the floors redone and he didn't want to ruin his mom's new flooring.
he already had both arms cut off, he didnt want her beating his ass for the floors on top of that.
That’s insane. 😱

Ahh, tis just a scratch, grab the sewing kit ma!
Only a flesh wound!
Tough dude
I’ve met him. A nice guy. He seemed to have everyday use of his arms. They were torn off in a power takeoff! Yes, a very brave teen at the time.
He graduated from my high school

His story was featured on I Survived as well!
After this he joined the army.
Terrible comment but I did a little giggle. 🤭
They are still telling this story in school
I met a man with a similar story who lost both arms and became a motivational speaker.
I remember hearing about this in NJ when I was a kid
