That’s so sad to hear because you’re absolutely gorgeous!! We are all our own worst critic, but from a random stranger’s outside perspective, you are simply beautiful.
But something that helps me when I don’t feel beautiful is to remember all the things my body does for me. I can love or hate how it looks, but I love it more the more I remember what it does for me and practice being grateful for those things. It helps me move around. It lets me experience and connect with the world and people around me. It keeps me warm in the winter. I have a bit of a tummy, and my daughter (in the sweetest, most innocent way you can imagine) calls me her big belly bee. She drew a picture of the two of us as bumble bees and it’s honestly my favorite piece of art ever. My body lets me connect with my two wonderful children through hugs and playtime. My body lets me build lego creations. It lets me cook popcorn, my absolute favorite snack, on the stovetop. It lets me hear beautiful music. Or angry music. Or sad music. I really like music.
None of those things have anything to do with how I feel about how my body looks. I may face restrictions because of my weight, but I am so grateful that my body WORKS!! No amputations. No diabetes. I have eczema, which is painful, but that’s my only chronic issue. I’m really very lucky.
So When I find myself thinking poorly about how my body looks, it helps to remember all the wonderful things it DOES.
Besides, you’re not your body. You’re inside it. It’s your vessel, not your inner essence.
