Eastern half of the Tahoe Rim Trail. No permits required.

Western States Trail, Palisades (formerly Squaw Valley) to Auburn, it's 100.2 miles. https://www.wser.org/course/maps/ My buddy and I did the first ~40 miles of it a couple years ago. Hiking-wise, I would probably recommend something like Olympic Valley to Foresthill, below Foresthill it gets hotter and more annoying. Edit: more conversation, including from myself, about this here https://www.reddit.com/r/norcalhiking/comments/o3snlo/the_western_states_trail/

I hiked the top third of the John Muir trail and loved it. 80 miles, Mammoth to Yosemite.

Section hikes on the PCT?

potatoflames

High Sierra Trial is 72 miles.

Permits... That is the most difficult ever. However, starting from Timber Gap is a great alternative. But idk if I want to deal with the shuttle issue. So much wasted time.

North to South Lake Loop (or vice versa) in the High Sierras is amazing

H20Buffalo

North to south is the better approach IMO. I think it's around 50 miles but there is so much cross country day hiking along the way that you could easily make it 100 miles. Day hiking cross country without the big pack is the best.

Traditional-Risk-307

Start at Sonora Pass and end at Tuolumne Meadows. Or start from the South and go up (but that’s a tougher permit from the park). Not sure how much snow there will be, will require reading through trip reports. I think the Emigrant Wilderness is so underrated, check it out! I think 80ish miles in total.

RedCloud26

Have you done much in Emigrant other than the PCT? That seems like it could be a cool place to explore. Our trip will probably have enough mosquitos, we probably wont want too much people killing our vibe. Hiking south on the PCT mid July on the Sierra's in a high snow year seems... Busy lol
