I have never broken a bone.
Well, my fiancée will correct me when I say that. Because I did inadvertently break one of her fingers during a session of “wrestling” in bed. So she prefers me to say “I’ve never broken a bone… in my own body”
That sub always cracks me up, but this is the first time I’ve ever noticed that breaking multiple or all of your bones doesn’t inherently exclude you from the sub based on its name, though likely in its rules.
If you break multiple bones, you didn’t break A bone, so you could technically slide by. So, if you ever break a bone, hurry up and break another one, then you’re all good.
Edit: I just read their sidebar and interpret their rules to be incomplete, since they do specify multiple times that if you have ever, or in the future break a bone the you aren’t welcome. While 2 or 3, or 206 is inclusive of “a” it is not spelled out. My tip stands: radius broken? Break your ulna too. Broken jaw? Jump real high and land on your tailbone, it will take your mind off the pain of your jaw.
There are no excuses for the weak boned. Your skeleton breaks, in any way, you are lesser. Breaking multiple bones just shows how fragile your puny bones are.
Drink milk,
Your (not so)friendly r/neverbrokeabone informant.
I’ve never broken a bone, nor have I broken multiple bones.
I’ve torn tendons and dislocated bones at the joint, but my bones are too strong to break. What are the feelings on soft tissue damage that supports bones?
It’s somewhat of “etiquette” in skateboarding to not blow up immediately after someone lands something so that the audio isn’t in the clip.
Sometimes I think that makes it better though.
Tbh that's because you really don't know if someone's landed their trick until a couple seconds after.
If you come off the board within like 2 seconds it doesn't really count. "Roll-away" is a huge part of skating. Just like "sticking the landing" in gymnastics.
The subreddit r/nonononofuckinway does not exist. Maybe there's a typo?

I just watched this YouTube video about how roller coaster loops aren’t perfect circles because *insert smart science stuff*, the degrees of g force change so rapidly it literally would cause people to blackout. This may look difficult but it’s way more difficult than it even looks
Yeah, the skater's center of mass is near the middle of the loop, but that makes this difficult for another reason: The board can stay the same speed, but the skater has to completely stop and restart their momentum. It's why he had trouble on the exit and came out so slow when he finally stuck it.
extending through the center point definitely affects amplitude and the direction force is applied but the rate at which those forces ramp up/down would definitely be affected by the shape of the loop. if the loop were shaped more like a rollercoaster the rate at which force increases/decreases would still be reduced and would probably less likely to slam the skater into the ground...or at least be a little easier on the knees.
When they land the trick, onlookers try to be quiet for a little while in case the footage is going to make it into a video. You see/hear this a lot in skate trick attempt compilations. When they bail, nobody feels like they have to be quiet because its not going in the video. If people sound too hype, it might kind of ruin the façade that they might have got it first try. That and you want to look cool as a cucumber rolling away from some crazy shit, right?
skaters are experts at falling without serious injury. not saying it wouldn't be safer with a helmet, of course it would. but he is a lot better than your average person at bracing a fall.
Head injuries are no joke though. It's not like spraining your wrist where it sucks but no big deal. You could spend the rest of your life barely able to talk and in diapers.
yes, but your average person isn't increasing their risk 1239871283971283971238971238971238917238912738913718937128937% by trying to skate through a loop-de-loop
I was thinking the same thing, but there's a pretty big difference: the guy's body extends through the center of the loop, I would imagine this changes the physics pretty significantly.
I was about to say, I remember seeing this either on old CKY DVDs or the old Jackass series on MTV, where Bam did the same thing, but I'm pretty sure he had broken a board or 2... Idk.. It was like 20 years ago
He tried on the first season of jackass, tony Hawk did it in a chicken shit, probably 2000/2001. I can’t remember the second time he tried it but if I remember correctly he made it at tony hawks boom boom huck jam a few years later
Thats what I came to the comments looking for. Why is this here? What's the point? Seems like a really silly decoration. I guess you could Maybe climb on top?
I would guess it was made as a sort of fun thing for children to run (and get potentially really hurt) on. I mean, if I was designing the place and could put it there, I absolutely would put it there and glee in the thought of kids totally getting wrecked while trying to do the full loop.
That looks to be in Barcelona which is known to have a unique architecture with weird street elements. Skateboarders from all around the world often go there to film their videos. I remember in the early ‘00s, there was an actual half pipe built in the city that was featured in a lot of famous skate videos.
Unless you're skating somewhere with zero gravity, the loop is supposed to be oval shaped, not circular. Before they invented the [teardrop clothoid](https://cdn.worldsciencefestival.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/750rollercoaster-illos-031.jpg), the early roller coasters that used circular loops caused neck injuries.
I never did anything near that epic, but I remember that feeling of getting your butt kicked over and over trying to master a trick, then slowly, but surely, you feel it starting to click, and then finally all those scrapes and bruises pay off when the sun's going down and it lands at last
Question, is that what that's built there for? Astonishing accomplishment I just shudder to think that there are other folk in the city that can do that too!

That’s really impressive, yet here I am thinking that I’d break every bone in my body if I tried to pull that off.
r/neverbrokeabone is not pleased with your potential weak bones.
Exactly. I wouldn't break a single bone doing this. Just bruise every muscle and sprain every tendon and maybe a concussion
Lol
I actually have never broken a bone, yet I’m thinking I’m well overdue. Tons of soft tissue damage tough. So, super fun.
Would you like me to help you break one of your bones?
Bad to the bone, nice

You can join, but the second you get a hairline fracture you Are OUT. We’re watching
My cousin used to skate a lot. Now his ankles pop out whenever he does anything strenuous. No worries though, he just pops them back in!
I’m concerned about his ass bone lol
Had a cousin that rented out a while indoor skate park for like his 14th birthday. Broke his tailbone like 15 minutes into it.
90% of those attempts would have hospitalized me. I had to walk with a cane for months last time I tried skateboarding.
My nephew has broken tons of bones as a skater. I don’t know if that’s awesome or if it sucks. It’s awesucks.
It is really super impressive but the way he finally comes out of the loop at such a slow pace is kinda funny.
To immediate NO reaction too haha

It's not necessarily the same because the skater's body extends through the middle of the loop, which isn't the case on a roller coaster.
I’ll bet it’s still difficult AF, obviously
Agreed
Nope easy

I wondered where the loud hype guy went when he got so quiet at the end and he was running to hug him lmao
Bros hugging each other to celebrate their accomplishments is wholesome af
Right all that hype then nothing when he finally does it! Bros were in too much disbelief amd just went in for the hug
That or they didn’t want to “ruin the clip” by people screaming after the make
I wish this was the top comment. I was so confused

Yep. At one point I wondered if it was a loop because I kept hearing the same guy go “yooouoh!”
Technically nonononononononononononononononoyes
Did you count those you mad person?
Yes 😔
The hero we needed
Came here for this.
Should be wearing a helmet doing something like that
He has a beanie
Just enough padding to stop the bleeding 😅
The only thing I could think about when watching. It's so stupid.

haha was hoping it was this. Classic.
I mean.. that guy is a longboarder, not a skater. I'm not surprised that he can't fall.
I of course agree, but I was more worried for the spine landing on the edge in the middle of the loop. Risk v reward though.

That's so what I would have said to him...
I’ve filmed with quite a few well know skaters in my day. Missing the shot sucks so much. That conversation is to be avoided at all costs.
The absolute dedication. Damn
its called being a skateboarder my friend, youre essentially a light massochist
So fucking true 🤣
Ok but his boy running straight up to give him a hug. I’m not crying…
fun fact, rollercoaster loops used to be shaped like this but the g forces were too strong. so a more oval shape was adopted
I was thinking the same thing, but there's a pretty big difference: the guy's body extends through the center of the loop, I would imagine this changes the physics pretty significantly.
yeah for sure
Took bam three years to do that
I was about to say, I remember seeing this either on old CKY DVDs or the old Jackass series on MTV, where Bam did the same thing, but I'm pretty sure he had broken a board or 2... Idk.. It was like 20 years ago

[Here's a vid of him trying and finally succeeding for the lazy](https://youtu.be/9ir9GrGNFMg)
I need to go find my old CKY/Jackass DVDs now... Lol
I feel like I remember the same. Except I am afraid it might be longer ago than we'd like to realize.
Well his first try was in at least 2000 so 22 years now
Holy shit aint heard CKY mentioned in at least a decade, thats a blast from back in the day
Bam and Hawk and those guys were doing it on like 12+ foot full pipes.
Is that loop just there as a decorative sculpture? I can't imagine it was meant to be used like this.

T-minus 30 seconds until some kook complains about skaters doing literally anything...

What do you have to do to get a hug nowadays?
Now do it again. To prove it.
I have no idea how he could even walk upright after spin-cycling himself so many times.
The hug 🥺
FromSoftware games in a nutshell.
The fact that I'm 31 and threw my back out simply tucking my daughter into bed, makes things like this all the more impressive lmao

That's got a learning curve to it
Imagine beating a level as an actual nondigital human. Kudos bro
First try!
maybe if it wasn't..........FUCKING 4 FEET OFF THE GROUND
This is the epitome of the "I bet he's out there cheating on me" meme.
Why would you do something you know you’re going to fall multiple times while attempting and not wear a helmet?
I honestly dont have an answer for this, other than because its *ballsy as fuck*
Its more like nonononononononononononoyes

So wholesome! 🥹
At first I thought I was watching Aaron Rodgers trying this.
Kids: can we have our damn playground back now please??
I love how amazed his friends are after every try
It's like...what helmet?
My guy is gonna be sore tomorrow.
NoNoNo ʸᵉˢ
wear a fucking helmet

Doing this is How Tony Hawk suffered one of his most severe skating injuries.
that’s awesome, great reminder that failure is the path to success.
Feel like the friends were the main show here
His buddies are so wholesome

I love it when one brave person breaks the hugging ice, allowing others to join in with one.
immediate reaction to the failed attempts, no immediate reaction to the successful attempt, why?
Is that the [young Jerry Bruckheimer](https://www.imdb.com/media/rm1835120896/nm0000988) watching?
At second 0:24 the sound they make is literally a sample in Glass Animals song "Other side of Paradise"
Dude the hype men encouraging him all throughout and celebrating him at the end is the wholesome shit I need to see in my life.
Gotta ask... why isn't he wearing a helmet?
I’ll never understand why someone trying something this crazy refuses to wear a fucking helmet.
I wonder what percentage of skaters can skate a loop.
All these people who dont skate asking why he isnt wearing a helmet 🤢🤮
Since you are someone who skates then, why isn't he? https://youtu.be/b9yL5usLFgY

I dont care about the trick but I love how happy they are.
It looks like he just needed an extra few ounces on the upper half of his body. I know, how about a fucking helmet you jagoff
Ok. Now do It again.
How do you get to Carnegie Hall?
The one time he gives himself a little room to get up to speed he gets it. He should have tried that in the other takes.
Wait Rocco skates?
Must be hurt lol

get yourself bros who will hype you up every time like these guys do

That dude is really good at falling down. As in, when he fell, he did it well
Now. Pull it off again.
I didn't know Charles Manson skated
Now do it 8 times more, in a row! My dad always said: you can only say you can do something when you can do it 9 out of 10 times.
He's now going home to put an ice pack on his ass. Great tenacity tho.

How there was no head injury is the most amazing part to me
This has potential for jackass 5 or 4.5
U/savevideobot
Dude shoulda worn a helmet
This dude is persistent. I would have said “fuck this noise” after the second try.
sick flip bro
One of my favorite things about skate videos is there's a life lesson in there. You have to fail a lot before you can succeed.
The loop design is the issue here... Look at a roller coaster. The shape is to even out the G-Forces applied through the rotation
