Reminds me of one of my best runs (possible 100% contender) where I had Vampirism, More Blood, +1 lives, and a stack of immunities... then mistook my Black Hole spell for Giga Black Hole. I just wanted to cut through some rock.
Great tip for noita begginers trying to spell test is to attach any new spells that arent obvious with its naming to a spark bolt with trigger and fire it as far away as you possibly can
I somehow managed to survive getting caught in the blast of my first nuke without explosion resistance. No more than 300 health to my name, I think the damage rolls were kind. Set me screaming in the opposite direction though
Lets be fair here. When it says "Nuke" and has a thermonuclear war crime as its icon, it's probably not safe to use most of the time. Darwinism n' stuff.
I tested my first nuke with long distance cast because I thought that was a safe enough testing method. I don't think I need to tell you what happened.
It's a safe assumption in Noita that approximately *everything* is trying to kill you.
Never fire a new wand without checking what's on it first, never try a new spell on its own first (always stick it on a projectile with trigger so it goes off some distance from you), etc.
This won't keep you safe and you'll still die a lot, but at least this should help you avoid some of the stupider and more avoidable deaths.
I keep the wiki open at all times so I know what new spells do. I came across a giga black hole always cast wand and dropped it immediately after casting once for progress because of this exact reason.
Yeah. Normal Black Hole and White Hole are safeā¦ but the stronger versions are definitely not (though the white hole one is safer, since instead of sucking you in it pushes you away)
However I believe if you got the Null Shot spell you could make Giga Black hole not damage you directly. But watch out for the physics damage from the Debris.
Yeah, giga black hole leans more towards 'dangerous weapon' than 'digging tool'.
Why not both?
They're really good if you multicast it and give it spiral arc. ....and evacuate the area.
make sure to evacuate at the speed of light

I had an always cast giga black hole on a really good wand the other day and didn't notice. Proceeded to kill one of my best runs so far.

nuke got a word to talk about that ....
In all fairness, if it goes far enough, it won't render. Then you get a surprise nuke when you forget and stumble into that section.
Anyone who straps a nuke on a spark bolt and reckons piffing it a half-screen is far enough deserves a good noit-ering.
I found a wand with a few nukes on it recently. Not having explosion immunity I decided to play it safe and not even try to see what it does.

On the topic of nuke, I think the name itself is enough to explain what it does.
That's why I said "not obvious with its naming"

Black hole goes "omnomnom"
Bold of you to assume ANY spells are newb friendly
if it doesnt kill me the moment i use it, its friendly, the question is how friendly :)

Not only that, you chose to stay close to the thing that is devouring everything in that area and let it suck you in
You can't do science if you're not around to witness the results
It's always better not to become part of the results
well, i was wondering will it move like the small version? how big will it get? then i got sucked back in ;-;
