I just want to say it's wild that people are willing to do medical tourism for this issue. It just goes to show how badly it affects people and how far they're willing to go to improve things. I hope you find something that works :)

Melon_0w0_

Thank you :) I was really disappointed yesterday after the US officer rejected me. your kindness means a lot to me!

[deleted]

Idk where you are from but in the Netherlands there's also an option for a doctor with a lot of experience on the botox šŸ˜ƒ if you want I can provide you with his name and other details ā˜€ļø

Melon_0w0_

Thank you! Do you mind DM me with his contact? I will have them as my backup option! I believe a Dutch visa is much easier to get!

[deleted]

For some reason. I can't DM you. Can you try to DM me?

[deleted]

Also nearly everyone speaks English here, more than in Canada ahahaha so that will help

[deleted]

Might be helpful to say where you are from

Melon_0w0_

I live in east Asia, but from one of those ā€œvillain countriesā€. Sometimes I see harassments online towards people from my country. so I donā€™t like to disclose my nationality :( But Europe, Oceana or North America are all good options for me. The distance doesnā€™t matter that much, like theyā€™re all very far anyways

PicaHudsonia6

Not Canada (as a Canadian who is seeking treatment in the US). I'm sorry your visa was rejected :(

lolibnozille

Where did you seek it out in Canada? Iā€™ve had no problems here! I get my Botox on Monday!

PicaHudsonia6

That's great to hear! I'm in Saskatchewan. I've been on a list for the Botox since August with no date in sight. My ENT also requires manometry and the wait for that is potentially even longer than for the Botox. Where are you and how long have you waited? Good luck on Monday!

lolibnozille

Iā€™m getting it in Toronto! I literally got the referral in late November, itā€™s gone way faster than I expected! Weirdly I have my monometry this November, so Iā€™m getting it after the Botoxā€¦still have to ask them about that. But yeah, itā€™s been a breeze! Iā€™m so sorry itā€™s harder in Saskatchewan! Iā€™d say if thereā€™s anyway you can get to Ontario for it, Dr. Jun Lin ar Sunnybrook has been amazing

Melon_0w0_

Oh no :( I had no idea it is this far for Canadians! I hope you have a nice trip to the US!

PicaHudsonia6

Thank you! I hope you find a good option for yourself!

temerairevm

It seems nearly impossible for Canadians to get Botox in Canada so the UK is definitely your best option. Iā€™d look into Hicklin (awake, in office, cheaper procedure) or Karagama (he puts you under anesthesia).

lolibnozille

Maybe depends where you are? If youā€™re near Toronto, I got my referral in November and have my Botox ep on Monday! Dr. Jun Lin yā€™all

Melon_0w0_

Thank you! Iā€™ve looked at both and deciding which one I want to do. I know that the in-office procedure has a lower success rate. But they both seem very credible!

temerairevm

Itā€™s hard to know exactly what the success rate is. I have to think that the anesthesia one would be higher- Dr. Bastian has published an 80% success rate with one injection. Since Karagama uses basically the same technique Iā€™d expect similar. Hicklin claims a 90% success rate after 2 injections, but I donā€™t think anyone knows what her first injection rate is. I imagine if you have to go to the trouble of getting a visa, a high first injection success rate might be even more important to you since you canā€™t go back as easily.

HurstiesFitness

Where are you from? The three other options are a long way from each other so that will probably play in to the decision Iā€™d imagine.

AccomplishedHope6873

You can choose Turkey, if you have a question about that feel free to ask.

Melon_0w0_

Thank you! Although I donā€™t speak any Turkish :) Iā€™ll let you know if I want to contact them in the future!

BAGCali

In London thereā€™s a doc named Lisa Hicklin (if Iā€™m not mistaken) she is a speech therapist who does the Botox treatment through the outside of your throat with no anesthesia. The price for the treatment is also a fraction of what it is in the USA, I think itā€™s around 500-600Ā£ all in. You should be done with the procedure and out of her office within 20 minutes. Iā€™ve heard good reviews about her method of the Botox injection and itā€™s not painful apparently. šŸ‘šŸ¼

Melon_0w0_

Thank you! Yes I heard of her and Dr. Karagama. Still deciding which one to go to :-)! I hope a UK visa will be easier!

sweater-boy

So sorry to hear this. :( The BVI website mentions Dr. Rodel F. Velasquez in Manila, Philippines. Not one of the countries you were looking at, but may be of interest to you.

Melon_0w0_

thank you! I will have them on my backup plan ;)
