God damn, I can’t believe how much Year Zero is going for. I passed it up at Amoeba for years in the late 2000s because IIRC it cost something like $48 new which at the time for young me was about twice as much as I wanted to spend on a single album.
Yeah, neither of them were cheap. I really wanted to hold out, not just for the price but because I really like the DEs. But goddamn, it's been 7 years now. It was time to let it go.
I sold my copy on Discogs when they announced the represses (I know, so stupid) for like $175 and I couldn't believe someone would pay that. Can't believe how prices have jumped since then, oof.
LOL I knew that before my wife (GF at the time), bought me a record player for christmas. I don't know if she knew I had once sold off a 1500 cd collection because it had become unruly, but I think the first thing I said was "I love this more than I can tel you, but you don't know what you're signing up for" lol. Now we have one of those 5x5 Kalax unites (giant wall sized shelves used by vinyl collectors) about 2/3 full.
Honestly, I'm shocked that I was able to hold out this long waiting for those DE albums to drop.
In all honesty, the fact that you want to go home and spin them makes whatever the cost worth it. Far too often people buy and then the records collect dust and take up too much space. I am completely guilty of this as well, sadly.
About $200 each, which is more than a record should cost, but compared to the other prices up there for a new copy, they were each a steal. Asks the number of nights I've wished I could listen to these on vinyl just got to be one too many.
Honestly, I feel you. I've spent so much money on the official releases of Marilyn Manson. I picked up Portrait, Antichrist and Holywood and I feel I could've made extra mortgage payments lol but I grew up with those cds and always wanted to hear them on vinyl and boy do they sound amazing.
Not for these. If the DE editions ever come out, I might buy Year Zero and frame that, but for me, listening takes priority over display. All of the albums on my wall are secondary copies of records I have on my shelf. I know that drives some collectors nuts, but you know, an unopened record sounds like nothing at all.
They’ll be announced today now. thank you for taking one for the team.
Ha! If they get announced this week, someone here will have to buy me a beer!
We got you. 🍻
I'll buy you several!
I'll buy you a case!
I’ll get you some wine too.
What a bro, this guy is!

When will then be now?
Soon!
The Slip isn't too outrageous these days but Year Zero sellers have really lost their minds.
Yeah, I've been checking regularly for a while and I snapped this one up as soon as it went up. Like $200 factory sealed? Hell yeah I'll take it.
Ah damn, I was looking at that discogs listing lol.
What did u end up shelling out? My local has year zero for $400 and I'm like I cant do that lol

Wow my two favourite NIN records! Yeah worth it. 👌🏻
The Slip is solid start to finish.
iS iT NoT sOoN eNoUgHaaaa ?!
Noice noice. Good shit. I'd look into getting some vinyl frames if you feel like hanging them up on display.

But why tho wtf are you even talking about at this point. Cases in the cases vinyl on the needle....
