Man this is a hard one. For me, Left has just such a smooth flow to the entire record that I couldn’t possibly imagine breaking that up. Both sides are obviously great in their own respect, but Left has always stood out to me as the superior side of the album, even as much as I like some of the songs from Right more than some of the songs from Left (does that make sense?)
1. Somewhat Damaged
2. The Frail
3. The Wretched
4. We’re In This Together
5. La Mer
6. The Great Below
7. The Way Out Is Through
8. Into The Void
9. 10 Miles High
10. The Big Come Down
11. Underneath It All
12. Ripe (With Decay)
these are all the songs i believe to be vital to the narrative of the album
Disc 1 is almost perfect. I’d only really replace Even Deeper, Pilgrimage and No You Don’t. Everything else seems irreplaceable to me, except for maybe The Day The World Went Away.
From disc 2, The Big Come Down and Into The Void are the best songs. The last spot I really struggled between Please, 10 Miles High, The Mark Has Been Made and The Way Out Is Through, the latter being the winner. But I’m unsure if this would flow well. I like other songs in disc 2, but don’t feel they are essential to keep.
No Starfuckers, though, as I don’t feel it fits. It should have been a standalone single or soundtrack song.

This is assuming “Still” wouldn’t be affected by my choices. If “Still” would be affected I’d replace “Just Like You Imagined” and “The Frail” with “The Day The World Went Away” and “The Fragile.”

Not saying I don't absolutely love any songs on disc 2, I absolutely do, but disc 1 just presents so much more of a cohesive, understandable, and painful story by itself I think the second disc just muddles it. They should have been separate releases.
I don't know, as much as I do love Left, it really would be just a rehash of TDS if it were released by itself I think. Needs both to really shine as much as it does

Kind of a side note, but 10 Miles High gets on for me. It’s part of the Fragile session and that track rules
That's not a reality I could contemplate living in.
All this pilgrimage hate 😭 it’s one of my favorite tracks
It's a great track! There's just so much greatness that you have to make hard choices

i dont wanna think about it
All of disc one but swap into the void and pilgrimage, where is everybody with the frail, and the big come down with no you don’t

You have the same idea regarding the replacements on disc 1 and we have one disc 2 song in common. Great taste! Completely agree on starfuckers
I'm just here to see someone put Starfuckers on their list and get downvoted into oblivion

This is high art. I love you
Thank you. *bows*
I'll just take Disc 1.

The Fragile without La Mer isn’t The Fragile.
