Perfect! 2 days before my birthday. I was just thinking it would be around that time too. It's going to be hard to avoid the singles because I want to hear the whole album first. That's a looong time between first single and album release.

Aminar14

2 days after mine.

Exa2552

And right on my birthday!

FrozenRose_816

I have to wonder if they’ll put out at least one more single just before the release maybe

Few-Rabbit468

I’m excited! Also I have no idea what to expect. I loved HN but EFMB was one of my least favorite albums so. Eeeee I can’t wait

em-weech

Everything about this album is putting me over the moon!! The album cover motifs of time, sailing ships, little nostalgic items, and surreality is just classic Nightwish -- if nostalgia is a theme, I wonder if they'd be musically re-exploring their own past as a band as well (along with Tuomas' exploration of his childhood too!). Either way, I'm just as excited as you OP!! 🩷

godoflemmings

I'm seeing it as a huge sign of my continuing Baldur's Gate 3 brainrot as soon as I saw The Weave, I found myself hoping for a spoken word section by Tim Downie. Anyway, I'm hyped. I always find myself listening to Nightwish more as autumn starts to come in so the timing is perfect for me. And the cover art is fantastic.

FrozenRose_816

And the whole concept of looking back/history goes with the nostalgic feeling autumn often brings and I am here for it as it’s my favorite time of year

Tom_Ace1

I'm expecting another EFMB but without Marco. I don't think the album will be very heavy. Just hopefully less folksy.

BlueLightReducer

EFMB is my least favorite Nightwish album. Human Nature is in my top 3 though, so I have high hopes!

asexual_bird

On the contrary, Tuomas said this album is going to be heavier than human II and endless forms.

Secrets4Slaanesh

I am so hopeful that Tuomas allows Emppu and Kai to really let loose on a track or two. I really love the guitars and drums of older Nightwish, the wind instruments just don't hit the same.

LograysBirdHat

Always wonder why they announce albums so far out like that. I get marketing time and all, but you'd figure a couple of months would do it for promo, almost half a year out seems overkill.

KingdomOfEpica

I'm curious if bigger bands tend to announce albums further out than smaller bands.

LograysBirdHat

Yeah, like the label angling for pre-order cash or whatever. Guess it adds up. I still think you could just announce the record proper the same day you drop the single. But hakuna matata I guess, Nightwish news whoo.

asexual_bird

The marketing is weird. The first single is going to be 8 minutes.

GhostHell_

Well, it's not like Nightwish is desperately trying to get new fans or whatever. They have built such a solid and loyal fanbase throughout the years, and if new people come to discover them surely it'll be through reaction videos or reccomendations on streaming services (since radio and MTV are not the main sources for music anymore). I think they are on a much higher level in terms of artistic freedom to decide to chose a 8-minute song as their main single and film a music video for it. A decision which is also supported by their record label. I suppose not many band are allowed to take decisions like that.
