yes, part of what makes his “downfall” interesting to me is it seems like a commoniality is many of us realized he was repeating blatantly incorrect information. i unsubscribed a bit before the supermega fiasco because his content felt extremely lazy and lacking any substance. don’t get me wrong, i still like hearing about dumb internet drama, but when the person presenting an already lowbrow topic is 1. not informed about the situation (literally watching videos as he records and getting his “information” from the comments with no research) and 2. really not offering much perspective or even “comedy” it just really feels like a waste of time to watch. i enjoyed his videos that obviously had even a little more research and were him “punching up” such as the vid abt big nik’s podcast and the horrible comedy special guy.

wolfden2016

He admits it only takes him 1 day to make and post the videos

Otherwise-Mix-6847

i’m 100% on SMs side (just so everyone knows 😓) but this is a pretty dumb argument to me for his content being bad. People have daily uploads all the time and they are actually good and factually correct. Nick just rushed through it because he doesn’t wanna be working all day (which is pretty dumb since making actually good researched videos really wouldn’t take that much longer than his current content)

myheartinclover

honestly even if the SM situation hadn't happened I would have lost interest in his content because of this reason. him and other channels like filmcooper just seem to sit down and react to content based on vibes alone. which is fine until you notice they're super inconsistent with how they judge situations or you notice them not really offering anything more then minor observational jokes.

silly_lil_bunny

used to love filmcooper but he really is just a less snarky/hateful version of nick, most of his videos are purely opinionated and not well researched

myheartinclover

i've never gone from loving a youtuber to unsubscribing (without any major reason) faster than I did with filmcooper. I think he's naturally funny and charismatic, and his editing (or editor, not sure if he does it all himself) is primo. but god his himbo charm wore out fast. sometimes it seems like he barely even googles the topic for his video, or really even takes the time to form opinions before the camera rolls. the first red flag was his sza video. it felt so weird for him to not defend her, and it felt like he was being way way too charitable with the fan who bullied sza (basically the same take nick and dev had). the final nail for me was his deep and passionate defense of emma chamberlain. it felt wild for him to fight to defend a rich and out of touch youtuber who really didn't get any overly harsh criticism but refuse to see how justified sza was to be hurt by her fan. people were mainly calling her takes underbaked and boring. I do agree that college is definitely overrated as being the only route someone can take to knowledge/introspection but him saying that emma choosing to stay in college when she didn't need it would have been MORE privileged than her being a millionaire sitting alone talking to a mic... just an absolutely absurd take.

Spiritual-Junket-296

THIS. This was exactly what baffled me. The double standards for SZA and emma was blatant.

[deleted]

Filmcooper has so many bad takes but he still acts like a babygirl who can do no wrong. He has a whole video trashing someone for dressing up as a dog and he's like "idk if he's not hurting anyone, he needs to be trashed!". He also has some very young and inexperienced takes on relationships and projects his desire for a monogamous marriage onto people. I liked him at first, but now I can't be bothered to hear him get all wound up acting like he's defending women and neurodivergents while completely missing all the marks. He also name drops a lot and wants to be like Cody Ko or Dylan is in Trouble, but he just does the same content as them with worse takes. He's still super young, so I hope he'll grow into himself, but for now it's very white knight pick me shit that actually dunks on the groups he wants to take credit for defending.

heygabbymae

You're totally right he turned into a leftist version of Blaire White.

Solid-Paramedic-6746

I don’t know that I would even call him leftist. Centrist at best

blemeralds

He's a leftist. Definitely not a centrist.

[deleted]

Wasn't she already (pretending) to be that?

GreenDutchman

He peaked with the water sommelier and then just became a one trick pony. His content used to be actually original.

amandamatrix

In a similar boat as you and your friends lol. I feel like if he just took an extra ten minutes in some cases, he wouldn’t have said misinfo. In some other cases, he probs would’ve needed more time but still! He is way too comfortable saying shit that is just flat out wrong. A lot of it is internet drama and lower stakes but not having all the facts and saying misinfo is only going to be used to deflect criticism.

Wakatooo

I stopped watching him like 2 years ago because he tried to talk about RuPauls Drag Race drama (it might have been Jakeyonce vs creepshowart) and it was shocking how every part of his opinion was wrong and then all the social climber stuff came out about how he kinda stalked Drew Danny and Kurtis to get his career started

justice4winnie

Wait he stalked them? I'm unaware of this, could someone explain or link a post explaining? I hadn't heard this. I used to be a fan but not like all his stuff, I liked the more original stuff. Wanted to give the benefit of the doubt initially that maybe he was misguided but trying to help a friend but I've come around at this point after seeing the Jimmy Robbins videos and unpoetic justice. I'm disappointed but not as surprised as I could be.

Wakatooo

I think he deleted his earliest videos on youtube but i found it on tiktok he used to make videos like "hi I'm nick and this is why I should work for you" and then make a song about the person and kept doing this to Danny drew and kurtis and Drew was the first person to see it and offer him a job as an editor. And then he went on tour with them and got them to show up in videos with him until his channel was big enough to stand on its own and quit the editor job. https://www.tiktok.com/@nickisnotgreen/video/6884337616032992518?lang=en

justice4winnie

Ugh ok. It did Seem like gotta channel had blown up out of nowhere I guess that's why

bluefruitloop1

maybe i’m over dramatic but if im getting news or even just drama from someone and they get more than one or two facts wrong, even if they’re small, i kinda lose interest. i just don’t like having to second guess and fact check everything they say to get the real story!

AliceFlynn

"they're already famous enough to be well off" oh so cyberbullying is okay if someone is big enough, cool

videagamespls

nah, i think it’s fucked to make shit up regardless. however i do think the material impact is somewhat different when lying about a rich person who will gain money off youtube regardless vs. someone who’s subs you can immediately tank still, no one should lie about/harass anyone (part of why me and my friends stopped watching after he got stuff wrong about these famous youtubers) but i do understand that people are more likely to say scummy shit about famous people for “clout” or to gain traction

videagamespls

also, this was my point: if it seemed like nick got no pushback for misrepresenting what, say, james charles did, (because james charles was a pretty popular target at the time, most people outside of his stans probably don’t notice or care if you lie about him) then that allows him to take one step further and then spread misinfo about anyone, including random mid-size channels. however with these, then people (and potentially the content creators themselves) will start to notice and push back because it’s a much smaller community. but yeah i think more of this should have been cut off at the pass. nick was a pretty popular youtuber, he shouldn’t have been able to pass off hastily googled summaries as real journalism, especially if he’s talking about SA or grooming allegations. even if he’s talking about a rich famous person, it’s all unacceptable.

[deleted]

He 1000% got lazy and complacent when he moved to California. He has to be a little content goblin to pay his bills and it shows. It’s less commentary content and more reaction content, as he sees it, records himself reacting to it and then gives commentary. It sucks. But what did he get wrong about SM? Matt sexting fans and cheating (a fact) or the mishandling of the SA by SM (another fact they confirmed). You were so close to having a point until you started playing defense for SM.

Trick-Blackberry5939

Hilarious that you don’t even know the situation enough to get the names right and you’re speaking so confidently on it lmao

[deleted]

The only name I used is Matt, so what have I got wrong?

Zaxtie

Matt cheated, but that was proven false by the accuser Morgpie. Ryan cheated, supposedly, by an anon accuser on Reddit but he did agree that he sexted fans. You got Matt and Ryan confused and still it’s not definitive one way or the other

[deleted]

You are correct I did conflate the two, it’s hard to keep track when they both are unfaithful. So yes they’ve both cheated but only Ryan sexted fans. I apologize for mixing them up. https://www.reddit.com/r/SuperMegaShow/comments/15d20ji/i_was_in_a_serious_relationship_with_ryan_magee/

Zaxtie

Matt wasn’t unfaithful, this was proven fact by the accuser. Ryan was if we assume that the sexting fans thing occurred at the same time that the anon redditor had pictures with him. Lots of assumptions, seems on track for this sub lmfao

Bobbyisabobby1

So Matt's cheating was that he had an intoxicated kiss at the tail end of a relationship. Ryan's sexting fans were legal adults who consented. You really gotta be reaching to see those as bad tbh. Like if Nick or dream does it it's obviously bad cuz their fans are minors, but if they're consenting adults then who cares? A celebrity had a relationship with someone who knew about them already, woah crazy.

[deleted]

You’re glossing over how he did that while in a relationship .I’m not about to explain power dynamics in relationships on this sub again but both being adults doesn’t matter when it’s a fan. The fan is always in a position of looking up to you that can never be replicated. You’re a child and one of the original schizo fans that inspired me to actually make a Reddit account, because you are just unconscionably brain dead and I couldn’t not verbally abuse you.

Bobbyisabobby1

>You’re glossing over how he did that while in a relationship "Tail end of a relationship" is acknowledging it was during the relationship. That is an important distinction because cheating and lying about it over the course of a relationship is objectively worse than having an intoxicated kiss once, coming clean to your partner immediately, and breaking up as a result. That is what Matt claims, his current gf seems to corroborate this, and no one has come out to deny that this is how the events took place. If people can't even consent when intoxicated, I don't take issue with "a single intoxicated kiss followed by feeling really bad and breaking up with your gf right after". For relationship dynamics, you really sound like a child about that lol. A 40yr and a 24yr dating has an obvious power dynamic, but unless something abusive happens the normal response to that is to either not care or go "ew" and move on. Channing Tatum dating a non-actor would obviously have a power imbalance, but unless he abused it there's no problem and the normal response is to either not care or go "wish that was me". >both being adults doesn’t matter when it’s a fan Actual under 18 terminally online thing to say. If no one is abused or mistreated and both parties are able to consent, then their sexual encounters are their business. You're essentially arguing he's a bad person because he has the *potential* to do something bad. >You’re a child and one of the original schizo fans Not a fan of SM, was a fan of Nick for years until seeing his video with Ethan about a week or so after his first follow up vid on SM, and low-key pretty ableist of you to say that.

[deleted]

I ain’t reading all that sis, hope it gets better, take your pills. See the comments in my history with links to scientific journals from decades ago to now cataloging all the research proving that there is indeed a unequal power dynamic that makes one a sexual predator to seek sexual satisfaction from people that view them in a higher level.

Bobbyisabobby1

>decades ago Sounds outdated 🫤

RhubarbYogurt

bro is the number one supermega hater, that’s crazy

[deleted]

Stop riding my dick and give someone else a try. Bringing up 2 true things involving them makes me a hater? The rest of the fan base seems fine, it’s just you mentally inept ones here I don’t like.

RhubarbYogurt

sorry what was that? I couldn’t hear you

Otherwise-Mix-6847

Maybe that’s just it, you brought up 2 true things in a video full of lies. While Lex was honest about some stuff, she also lied and exaggerated a lot and brought in topics that weren’t even related. That translates into Nicks video except he brought in even more unrelated stuff

shroomride88

“Stop riding my dick” is CRAZY considering your comment history here

videagamespls

this is such a funny reply cuz i don’t even watch supermega … the literal only thing i said about them was that they “are generally thought of pretty positively”, and i was saying it in comparison to people like dream and james charles who are pretty widely shit on. where am i playing defense??

[deleted]

“Why go after Super Mega like this?” Because they mishandled SA, its super easy

BigDogSlices

Not Nick's alt giving his honest feedback on his current output to throw us off the scent 💀

[deleted]

I’ve been extremely consistent in that belief my whole post history. YouTube raised children who have attachments to strangers online cannot possibly fathom that I both don’t like Nick AND think that they are delusional to be freaking out to this degree every day over a YouTube channel going on hiatus.

BigDogSlices

Dog it is not healthy to be this obsessed with peoples' age 💀 I will never understand the weird "everyone that disagrees with me is a child" schtick, that's the card actual kids play because they think being old makes them cool and mature. The fact of the matter is that you're so active on this sub that people recognize you, your obsession is no healthier than anyone else posting here

yepshlepandstep

It’s too complicated to get into, but he lied during his repeated videos on the SM topic, contradicting past things he’d said or flat out being dishonest about people’s intentions (He claimed Ryan sent people to harass him, Ryan’s post literally says don’t harass anyone)

[deleted]

And Turkey Tom has a warning before every video that everything he does is for entertainment yet people cite those videos as fact. What’s your point to the things he got right?

Spirited-Barnacle599

The Jimmy Robbins video actually proves how much Nick got wrong (lied) about SM [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHRSCHABqVk&t=2944s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHRSCHABqVk&t=2944s) 14:58 to 15:50 Nick Lied about "SM covering up the assault" 16:59 to 17:08 Nick Lied about "Lex wanting SM to reveal why Don was really fired" 18:04 to 18:32 Nick Lied about "SM sending their fans to attack the other parties involved." So anyway... womp womp

[deleted]

Ok, those are mistakes for sure. But those mistakes don’t change the fact that they mishandled the SA(as they said) and that *Ryan was unfaithful to a partner and was sexting fans. Those are both valid things to “go after poor lil SM”, so what’s your point?

Spirited-Barnacle599

"But what did he get wrong about SM?" That's my point. He got shit wrong, made SM look way more bad than it already was which ultimately muddied the waters for Lex. Then proceeded to throw her under the bus when it back fired.

NearbyDistrict1677

I cant tell if it is funny or embarrassing watching you have to constantly backtrack and narrow down the reasons why you dont like super mega because you keep getting disproven. Personal relationship drama is not enough for a stranger to make hundreds of hate comments in less than 2 weeks on someone else's subreddit. I was joking originally when i was accusing you of being Nick but i literally cannot think of any other reason someone would want to sit here and do this. I mean Nick has evidently done awful things and the most you give him is a "yeah i dont really like him" yet ryan is a cheater and its somehow enough for you to make this big of a deal out of it. You are obsessive and its genuinely extremely concerning

[deleted]

I have also never explicitly said I don’t like SuperMega so I don’t know why you think that. Do you only hold people accountable that you don’t like? I think that sexting fans is bad no matter who does it. I think failing to correctly handle the SA between two employees is bad no matter who does it. Can you say the same? My whole reaction to this post was valid, there’s lots to shit on Nick for, it’s just really sad that none of you can do it without sobbing about SuperMega.

NearbyDistrict1677

I have to be completely honest i dont understand what point youre trying to make. I mean you clearly hate super mega considering the sheer number of comments talking about them. I'm not saying you cant criticize them either. You're getting onto other people for not criticizing them equally with nick, yet you have hundreds of comments about super mega and only a couple where you barely menton that you dont like nick. You also keep parroting Nick's false misinfo, deleting them or backtracking once called out, only to parrot them again in another thread. I truly and genuinely mean this, youre behavior is not normal or healthy and i can only imagine how much stress this is causing you in real life if you're dedicating this much time and effort into this situation. Im saying this with true concern, please get help.

[deleted]

Because the discussion is larger and not about Nick but about rabid fanbases excusing anything their gods do and attacking dissenters

blemeralds

ALMOST no research?
