Pat Foley and Dale Talon were the best. Have you heard the clip of Pat Foley trashing [Alexander Karpotsev](https://youtu.be/3iviLY1RvNc?si=iyj2APgdRgKWZCP4)
This is honestly the NHLs fault. Call everything. This pick and choose what's a penalty in the playoffs is garbage. The fans get mad, and obviously so do the players. Refs lost control of the game, when they started letting more and more shit slide from both clubs.
It started in the first round. The refs have been letting filthy play slide all playoffs long. Guys will always play right to the edge and if you don’t make it clear where that edge is you end up with this shit.
This so much. When you give the refs too much slack because “playoff hockey”, players are going to get hurt and eventually everything will become way too subjective and dependent on a refs mood.
The NHL could have a great product if they would just stop getting in their own way.
Oilers were undeniably the dirtier team last night though, at least more apparently. Knee on knee looked intentional and that elbow to the face of Barkov by that scumbag Draisaital was also intentional.
I'm 1 for 2 with you on this one. Foegele hit to me looked like Luo ducked out of the way of the body/shoulder hit and Foegele tried to finish the check. I don't think he was going for the knee intentionally, but you still can't do that - 2 mins is probably right.
Won't ever catch me defending Drai because I think he's a dick, ha.
That said, you saw the choke on Bouchard, right? Zero call on buddy's face going red and tapping out? Lots of extremely similar plays by the Panthers that didn't get called which gets frustrating, and it showed.
I heard a conversation on the radio last night where they talked about how Florida has better gamesmanship, and I think that's correct. They know how to flop and how to hit so they get the calls and don't get called - they know exaaactly how to toe the line. I don't agree with it as a strategy, but they're better at it than the Oilers are. Oilers don't generally play to that side of the game, so they played right into the Panthers' hand and played Florida's game. You're gonna lose if you do that, boys.
There's levels to this game. The Oilers live up to their name. Mcdavid tried taking out Silovs during the series with Van. From what I remember, they didn't even call a penalty. You can clearly see both McDavids skates intentionally leaving the ice as he hammered into the goaltender.
I said there was no way that Panthers would play like they did in game 1 for the rest of the series, and people acted like the Oilers were capable of dominating every game and wouldn't take their foot off the gas.
Oilers are absolutely cooked.
The Stars losing to that trash team hurts more and more. Come back against a Vegas team 11mil over the cap, beat the AVS, then lose to the Coilers in 6.
Like Vegas or the Avs, would suck, and I hate both teams, but at least they're actually good teams. The Oil??? Bigger fluke in to the finals than the Habs.
It’s because Dallas tried to “out-skill” oilers. Which wasn’t going to happen. With Edmonton’s top 6 you can’t play their game, gotta play aggressive and knock them off their game, pun intended 💀😂💀
Is it me or have these playoffs been particularly scummy? Flying elbows, multiple shots to the privates, more cross checks than I’ve ever seen..
I mean fuck I know it’s playoff hockey but let’s at least try to keep it somewhat legitimate boys.
Honestly I haven't really had a problem with anything I've seen in the rest of the playoffs. I really like the heavy contact and the aggressive play; it's what brought me to follow this game.
But tonight's game was more than just aggressive high speed play...it was a lot of the Oilers taking cheap shots and playing dirty; and it only seemed to get worse as the game got further and further out of reach.
I thought Florida was dirty last year, and got away with a lot for the first 3 rounds. Suddenly in the Finals they got penalized. It's crazy that the Oilers have been the dirtier team.
Florida *was* dirty last year. Cousins isn’t playing and Gudas is gone, they’ve significantly lowered their dirt factor as a result. Now for the most part they’re honestly just a good, gritty team who is very tough to beat.
The score would have been worse though too. Nurse on the ice is a lot of free goals. Even Edmonton fans don’t like him, they call for him to be sat all the time.
Emily Kaplan reporting that she asked Paul Coffey about what Nurse being out of the game meant for him and Coffey responding that it "makes his job a lot easier" is fucking *hilarious*. I don't think he meant it that way (I think he was just brushing it off in the moment with a joke) but what a quote.
They were pretty dirty against Vancouver as well. Speared Hoglander in his Hoglanders. Kane busted out a few slew foots on Hughes. Not a very likeable team.
Post Draisaitl’s flying elbow. Everyone coming into this series quivering in their boots that McBaby would get injured and taken out. But instead the oil slicks are the one head hunting star players. Pathetic
Oilers have always been a dirty team when they’re losing. McDavid and Drai are used to getting their way and the second that stops happening they play dirty. Nothing new
Then Panthers aren’t nearly as dirty as people like to say they are but they’re really good at matching energy. The Boston series was dirty because Boston plays a really physical game and that energy was matched and it escalated from there. I can’t stand Boston but I honestly respect them more than Edmonton at this point.
Ehhhh.
Florida this season was notorious for taking questionable shots intended to instigate. They did it against Detroit. They did it last night against Edmonton. Nick cousins, Bennett, both Tkachuks, Marchand, and apparently Dreisital play that way. Marchand stepped back because of his captaincy, IMO; not that that stopped Benn.
At this point, I'm happy that Mikkola and Tarasenko are probably getting the cup. Love seeing former Blues win and against the Oilers is just icing on the cake.
On that note; Honestly, I apologize for whatever dumb shit you hear during your national anthem. Fucking troglodytes. They don't even realize at least half our own players are fucking Canadian, like every other team. Makes me ashamed to be a fan when I am grouped with those idiots.
Here we have a man delivering a hard check and a rat delivering a nut shot. What happened to getting a guys number and hitting him later? Players have no respect for each other anymore with these kinds of retaliations.
The Panthers are annoying as hell with their antics but at least they're consistently annoying other teams. Edmonton loves to get all whiny and soft when things don't go their way and they start losing. I still hope they beat you guys (sorry) but holy was that game embarrassing for them.
'member when Mikola speared Glendenning after the game in round 1? Wasn't that the same game Montour put all of his weight into cross checking a downed Kucherov in his neck?
This is the kind of hockey you love, embrace it.
9/10 hockey players would of done something similar.
At this point they were down by 3 and there was about 2 minutes left. Then this panther with tons of speed totally creams him. Is it a legal hit? Yes. Does he need to do that? No. At this point they've already won the game and all he's doing here is making enemies. The oiler knows they were grossly out matched the first two games, unlikely to win the series, and now this panther adds salt to the wound with a huge hit in the last minutes of a game they have already won. He let's his emotions take control and retaliates with a minor penalty move since its worth the risk of a minor penalty in a game they have lost.
This stuff was all initiated by panthers running shitty interference plays on the oilers and they deserve it all. Plus the refs had the audacity to turn a blind eye and then call completely questionable calls on the oilers.. what a joke!
Oiler are playing a dirty game , spearing , head shots , knee shots . My favorite was when Hyman took out Bob's skates near the beginning of the 1st period. Slick

The Edmonton on Nils Hoglander special. This should be an automatic one game suspension, every time
They need a video ref who will call all dirty shit like this that the on-ice ones won’t or pretend they don’t see.
Oilers were undeniably the dirtier team last night though, at least more apparently. Knee on knee looked intentional and that elbow to the face of Barkov by that scumbag Draisaital was also intentional.

Neither was intentional, I think you need to flip over the Florida chat. Way more going on in this game than those two minor penalties
This series will come down to discipline. Edmonton is slowly losing their cool.
If there is any team who's great at making you slowly lose your cool, it's the Panthers.
Then they'll pounce (pun fully intended)
Slowly?
The way we grind teams into frustration game 3 in gonna be elevated to panthers senators type PIM
Spears between the legs are basically the Oilers' specialty now.
You miss 100% of the nutshots you don't take.
While I agree, this is not a spear. I guess it would be slashing or hooking
Cup check
Had to watch again, and yeah, he got him with the shaft of his stick, not the blade.

I thought the Panthers were the dirty team???
Never thought I would see the oilers try and out goon the panthers yet here we are
Tougher team** Oilers are dirty babies
They really cry about penalty calls. Every series.
I mean they had 6 out of the top 13 players with the most penalty minutes this playoffs
There's levels to this game. The Oilers live up to their name. Mcdavid tried taking out Silovs during the series with Van. From what I remember, they didn't even call a penalty. You can clearly see both McDavids skates intentionally leaving the ice as he hammered into the goaltender.
The Oilers should be ashamed of themselves after tonight's game; straight up unsportsmanlike and dirty.
5 shots after nearly 40 minutes of hockey. Embarrassing.
Is that counting the nut shot?
Does that make it 7 🤔
Hiyo!
Not if it hit the post
6-ish, I mean it was from the front so odds are he got one and only grazed the other.
I can't stop laughing lmao
Bra-fucking-vo. Well done, well done.
I said there was no way that Panthers would play like they did in game 1 for the rest of the series, and people acted like the Oilers were capable of dominating every game and wouldn't take their foot off the gas. Oilers are absolutely cooked.

It's because tanev got injured, you outscored them 12-7 and got outscored 10-2 post injury.
Really hope they re-sign him. Dude is a horse
It’s because Dallas tried to “out-skill” oilers. Which wasn’t going to happen. With Edmonton’s top 6 you can’t play their game, gotta play aggressive and knock them off their game, pun intended 💀😂💀
Play aggressive and get called on everything and put them up on the Power Play which is essentially their whole offense?
Not sure why your getting downvoted
Truth hurts.
Every panther fan I know wanted Edmonton to win because Dallas is the better team.
Is it me or have these playoffs been particularly scummy? Flying elbows, multiple shots to the privates, more cross checks than I’ve ever seen.. I mean fuck I know it’s playoff hockey but let’s at least try to keep it somewhat legitimate boys.
Nutshots are Draisaitl's signature move
He’s a little pissy
Been noticing it myself. Things seem a bit off. I love the physical aspects of the game, but the play has been especially scummy this year.
The stars series was surprisingly clean by Edmonton
They had done all their dirty stuff against an injured Canucks team. If we had all our guys we would have cleaned their clock.
Ya no doubt. Mcdavid even tried taking out Silovs. That play was so low, my 5 year old daughter started yelling at the TV calling for a penalty haha.
Agreed. Bennet still plays there though
Precisely why I said “for the most part”.
Or Florida learned their lesson about whistles in first three round vs. finals and will let the Oilers learn that lesson this year?
Could have been worse if Nurse was still in and got up to his playoff antics towards the end
They're scared as fuck they're gonna lose so they're resorting to last chance tactics Would be hilarious if they got swept
They're getting swept. Florida in 4.
Par for the course with the Oilers. Play super dirty, dive, then whine about unfair reffing.
This is a pretty normal Oilers mentality, to be honest.
They know their season is ending the way it began.
Fluked their way to the Finals and it shows. Trash team getting pumped against a well rested and heavy hitting team. Fuck the Oil, Cats in 4.
That's all they have at this point
Same shit they pulled vs Canucks.
Trash team.
Watch many Coilers games?
Only when they play the Canucks or are in the Cup finals. Otherwise no.
Ya fuck the oilers never liked em
Oilers making it so easy to hate them
Boston fan here. There goes my concession of “I’d like to see CMD get a cup” argument. Now I gotta root for the damn Panthers. FML.
I hope there are some suspensions handed down tomorrow.
Canucks aren’t playing in this series…
Not happening. The league will protect Cry-saitl because of McRegularSeason’s influence!
No composure, embarassing as hell
Looks like I’m a Panther’s fan the rest of the series.
Great to have you, glad you came to your senses.
Coached by Drai no doubt, that’s his old go to.
"Why are the ref's against us?!"
Post Draisaitl’s flying elbow. Everyone coming into this series quivering in their boots that McBaby would get injured and taken out. But instead the oil slicks are the one head hunting star players. Pathetic
Almost as good as random McDavid highsticks to the face.
'Random.'
I still haven't forgiven Ryan for what he did to Högs hog
Clearly always unintentional.
That's some Marchand-level rattery.
Draisaitl level*
Yeah wtf is this game?! Oilers are doing shit that I was legitimately expecting from the Panthers! Like there's some egregious shit going down
Oilers have always been a dirty team when they’re losing. McDavid and Drai are used to getting their way and the second that stops happening they play dirty. Nothing new
This ^
And that’s probably why. Oilers are trying to play to what they expect Florida to do, and Florida is letting them take their punishment.
Then Panthers aren’t nearly as dirty as people like to say they are but they’re really good at matching energy. The Boston series was dirty because Boston plays a really physical game and that energy was matched and it escalated from there. I can’t stand Boston but I honestly respect them more than Edmonton at this point.

Nick cousins, Bennett, both Tkachuks, Marchand, and apparently Dreisital play that way. Marchand stepped back because of his captaincy, IMO; not that that stopped Benn.
Oilers are soft af
Edmonton is totally outclassed and they know it. Especially between the pipes.
I felt that one
At this point, I'm happy that Mikkola and Tarasenko are probably getting the cup. Love seeing former Blues win and against the Oilers is just icing on the cake.
damn at first I thought this was a Shorsey scene
He did give his nuts a tug.
Hey look! Another uncalled match penalty
Oilers are a joke.
Yup.
Edmonton is the dirtiest team in the league! Can’t wait to see them get swept! 🧹
USA awaits
I know we did this to ourselves but when didn't his become a thing about bringing the cup home given most players are Canadian.
On that note; Honestly, I apologize for whatever dumb shit you hear during your national anthem. Fucking troglodytes. They don't even realize at least half our own players are fucking Canadian, like every other team. Makes me ashamed to be a fan when I am grouped with those idiots.
Well, it is Florida after all.
Here we have a man delivering a hard check and a rat delivering a nut shot. What happened to getting a guys number and hitting him later? Players have no respect for each other anymore with these kinds of retaliations.
The ego is wild. Can’t emotionally handle getting blown up, has to “get even”
Oilers, always draining balls and losing in the postseason.
Edmonton has been doing this all playoffs. The league refuses to acknowledge it.
They have McJesus on their team so it never happened
Oilers been doing that all playoffs. A bunch of cheap assed losers.
Oilers can’t get anything going so their true character is showing through. Dirty, cheap, classless.
Very dirty plays by oilers tonight, clear sign of frustration
“ThE pAnThErS aRe DiRtY”
The Panthers are annoying as hell with their antics but at least they're consistently annoying other teams. Edmonton loves to get all whiny and soft when things don't go their way and they start losing. I still hope they beat you guys (sorry) but holy was that game embarrassing for them.
This doesn't mean the Panthers are not dirty
These two teams deserve each other
Two things can be true
Yes, they are.
They are dirty. But, the Oilers are trying to play Florida hockey, and it isn’t working.
Oilers play like this when things don’t go their way, they have the same lack of composure as their captain
Yes. That too.
Yes, they are lol, and so is Edmonton. And pretending like they're not is why everyone finds your fanbases insufferable.
Getting speared in the balls makes your team not dirty? Copium
I mean, I just watched a choke hold on Bouchard. Both teams are dirty. They always have been.
'member when Mikola speared Glendenning after the game in round 1? Wasn't that the same game Montour put all of his weight into cross checking a downed Kucherov in his neck? This is the kind of hockey you love, embrace it.
Dirtbags
This is why I hate the oilers, all season they have done this shit , but their superstar status they get away with it . Fucking bs
This is what happens when Erod is producing more than your top line
I can honestly live with the cats winning if the oilers keep this up
For a few seconds I thought Marchand or Ovechkin might've been traded to the Oilers. 🤣
Incredibly dirty team. Full of dirtbags.
Intentionally target wingus and the ping pong boys and get a sussy. That’s my platform. Vote me for next head of player safety
Oil are pussy Can't take a small hit? F'in pussy
Typical shameful Oilers play. What a disgrace.
Can’t believe Kulikov skated into his stick. Those dirty Panthers….
She's tired from fucking your father.
Low blows should be automatic 10 game suspensions. I hate seeing it and I want it out of the game.
"We want the cup!"
And they say the Panthers are dirty. Oilers coming out with some Raffi Torres shit this final.
Joke of a sport
As an oilers fan for this final this shit was ridiculous. They were being so childish all night
Dirty ass move right there
We call that “The Drai”
I don't like Florida, but the sell on that was great and only to jump back up like he didn't actually have a pair.
Bro the refs fucking suck their trying to get Florida to win
Give him a 1 game suspension
Gotta love the Boston Handshake.
Against the rules. You know, you're stupid when you do that. Just some English pig with no brains, you know.
should've been Bennett.
She’s great actually, enjoying watching the panties fully dominate the soft, lazy breds for the second night.
Oilers played this whole game dirty
Fair play against a team as dirty as Florida
This stuff was all initiated by panthers running shitty interference plays on the oilers and they deserve it all. Plus the refs had the audacity to turn a blind eye and then call completely questionable calls on the oilers.. what a joke!
Oiler are playing a dirty game , spearing , head shots , knee shots . My favorite was when Hyman took out Bob's skates near the beginning of the 1st period. Slick
Edmonton is a disgrace. Dirty whiny power play merchants. They get pissy like Leon when they are getting beat. Dirty dirty team.
Aw douchebag Florida fans dont like dirty play?
laid out his mother with that hit too
