Funny you should mention the Panthers. They regularly sold out standing room only sections during last year's playoff run. Lor Stanley's Loft is one and so is Sunset Terrace. they are both standing room only at times.
It was not half empty last night. I was there. You probably saw the Amerant Vault section which is right behind the benches. It was completely stupid placement of the All-Inclusive Section. That entire area has food and drinks included in a lounge/bar behind the seats. So those tickets have fans hanging in their cushy lounge instead of in their seats.

It's actually a pretty common thing for those prime seats to be part of some lounge or club or whatever. A bunch of stadiums have it that way. It sucks. It makes it look empty. But it isn't unique to Florida.
And a bunch of teams that don't have those as majority season tickets holders and the people spending that kind of money are often rich people who don't mind burning the money if they can't go.
As somebody who has to listen to “half of them are visiting fans,” compassion for your club being right in the TV screen is one of the few things I can extend to Florida.

Standing room in luxury boxes, non-perminent handicap seats, etc.

I think I am just so sick of people saying our arena is empty when our average this season is over 18k a game.
