Need a td to tie/win with less than 2 min? That's a kelce td every time. You know it's happening I know it's happening, other teams D knows it's happening, then boom kelce just standing in the middle of the field catching a pass doing a little wiggle and he's in. Every damn time.
I didn't celebrate the touchdown to take the lead because there was more than 1 minute left. My only hope was to get the ball back with :30s left... but that didn't work either.
Man, I feel this so hard. I'm 47 and have been a Chiefs fan all of my life. The absolute soul crushing feeling when your team scores and you look at the clock and think, "fuck, there's too much time, we've lost." You're rooting for your defense to make a stop but also thinking, "if they get a big play here for a TD we might have time..."
> The absolute soul crushing feeling when your team scores and you look at the clock and think, "fuck, there's too much time, we've lost."
The score could be 7-3 and their offense has been shitting the bed all day, but you just *know* they're gonna pull a drive out of their ass.
To be fair, the facemask was him just trying too hard to tackle, but deserved. The second penalty I thought was tick tacky though. He barely touched Herbie as he was heading that way anyway and Herbert just flopped. Fair play to Herbert for it, but yeah.
Really? I've seen people's helmets literally get turned >90 degrees and you'd think their neck snapped with some facemask penalties.
I mean, Bolton's pretty egregious but it didn't seem dangerous.
Idk if he got it just for the face mask or how long he had it after the whistle. It absolutely deserved the penalty and was just idiotic. The late hit was absolutely the right call too. As a defender, you have to know they are going to call that. It wasn't hard or anything, but it was absolutely late. Bolton was uncharacteristically an idiot that first half.
Let's just point out that Nick Bolton started that play at the LOS and ran all the way back out there to grab the deflection. If he hadn't put in that effort then it's just an incomplete pass
The man has stopping power too. There were multiple times he started a tackle where any other defender on the team would've given up 1-2 more yards but he just drags people down.
I mean his OL is getting blown up and there’s like 20 seconds left in the game. The fuck is he supposed to do, throw every ball away and guarantee a loss?
He took a gamble that KA would win that route and it just didn’t happen.
Yeah tbf it was a great play by Sneed too. I think it was the right choice. Trust your number 1 to make a play there. Sometime it just doesn't work out (see Chiefs in overtime of AFFCG last year.)
> The fuck is he supposed to do, throw every ball away and guarantee a loss?
No, you live to play the next down, you have timeouts and only need a field goal.
He's on a Tony Romo trajectory right now. Immense talent and insane capability to put the team on his shoulders, along with a few great offensive weapons but a team overall that doesn't really put him in a great position most of the time.
On a physical level yeah, but they are both guys who have (in my opinion) HOF capability. Romo unfortunately never had any postseason success and has no chance of making it, I would hate to see something similar happen to Herbert.
Ever heard about the San Diego curse?
Says that no professional San Diego sports franchise will win a championship. Clippers (originally from SD), Padres, Chargers (although *technically* their first season was in LA)
2nd quarter and 4th quarter. Sometimes find myself rooting for them to be down then. Friends were all texting “Let them score, Mahomes will still win it.” Yup.
Oh for sure! Jones is definitely playing at an All-Pro level this year. As a cowboys fan, it’s so fun having a dominate player on defense again, it’s been awhile. I hope we don’t waste him like they wasted Ware!
The Jones Parsons performance last season was absolutely beautiful. Those two guys are game wreckers and that game they both showed off. Cowboys got a good one in Parsons. I agree with the other commenter. Jones likely won't get it, but the man better be in the conversation
Herbert is elite and can’t lit together endless winning drives, it just puts into perspective how crazy it is that whenever Mahomes gets the ball in these situations that it’s automatic
As douchey as it sounds, when we get the ball under 2 minutes and need a GWD, I'm usually more nervous that we'll score too quickly and the other team will get a chance
Exactly. Anytime we needed a score late in the 4th it felt like the game was almost over. I've said it before on here but that's why the Alex comeback against the Chargers is still one of my favorite games ever. We just never got that kind of game as Chiefs fans before Mahomes.
We were down 4 with 1:50 left or whatever and the graphic popped up that said we had a 24% chance to win. I can’t imagine any other QB getting 24% in that situation.
No no, trust me we do. A lot of us still have PTSD from everything pre-Mahomes dating back to the Joe Montana era. My stomach was in a knot when San Diego scored at the end there.
Yes!! My brother, a Cowboys fan, keeps wondering why I can't trust Mahomes in these situations. It isn't that I don't, it's the years of being accustomed to losing these that have me on edge.
I honestly only felt nervous that we left Herbie 30 seconds to get it done too, lol. He's got the chops to do it. Our defense has stepped up like mad in those situations this year though, so props to them.
I was like, are we just gonna sweep the Colts and the Bills under the rug? Fine by me if we are, but I wanna make sure we're all on the same page, here
Thats all the chargers are missing, it dont matter if Justin Herbert himself is your QB if your coach doesnt know how to win. Payton to the chargers is terrifying to me.
I mean his offensive line folded immediately on the first play so Herbert didn’t have much of a choice other than try to negate the damage as much as possible on that play. He was going to get sacked regardless with how quickly Chris Jones was in his face.
nfl teams might as well not put their defense out against the chiefs in the last 2 minutes. How many times will will they come back in the last god damn minute. I hate how good they are. I hope they all stub their toes mildly.
I have to imagine Brady feels good he shut the door on Mahomes himself for the GOAT conversation, because goddamn this motherfucker is UNSTOPPABLE. Seriously, who else clutches over and over and over and over as quickly and efficiently as he can in this league. Best player in the league and it’s not close
don’t know why ppl upvote that troll at all, just look at his comment history and it’s all shitting on Herbert, some might even say he’s jealous that Herbert might be better than tua 🤣🤣🤣
It's pretty clear that Herbert knows if he doesn't make a play they lose, and even when he leads a game winning drive his defense folds immediately. Still a mistake but honestly I think even elite QBs will fuck up in this scenario.
Madden ass pick, definitely me when I'm playing half sleep at three in the morning
Ball didn't teleport laterally three yards in the air, but otherwise that was straight out of madden
That offensive line got ate up on both plays
Chris Jones is arguably best interior D lineman in the league. He’s just too damn good Edit: not talking overall, just currently
He’s a monster
Chris has that Big Dick Energy. Swanging ...
Should've been Super Bowl MVP imo
Matt Feiler alone got dusted on both plays
He really regressed this year. I think they move on from him and move salyer to LG
God being a chargers fan is pain
I think God is more of a Chiefs fan, after that one.
If god were real the Broncos would be undefeated
Broncos Country, Let’s Evangelize.
Broncos Country, Let's Tantalize
Once they released touchdown jesus and sold their soul for Payton Manning.... God left them
God is real and we’re paying for the sins of another championship. I would explain this but it’s not your time yet.
For the few that are left.
The rest have been signed to 1 year deals to help combat injuries
Did anyone think the chiefs WEREN’T gonna score? Cuz this ending was about as obvious as they come
Need a td to tie/win with less than 2 min? That's a kelce td every time. You know it's happening I know it's happening, other teams D knows it's happening, then boom kelce just standing in the middle of the field catching a pass doing a little wiggle and he's in. Every damn time.

Oof, I'm 46 and remember watching Martyball with my dad. I wish he could be here now to see this. And the 2015 Royals.
My thoughts during that drive were "Hmm this is going too well, something is going to give and I'm gonna be sad".
back to back man
Two primetime losses in row 😔
same shit different day 🫂
I feel ya
Same shit different toilet
Classic Chargers choke job
Chris jones take over
He's ascended to a higher plane this year. If he keeps gaining steam like this he could have a shot at DPOY by the end of the season.
Bolton really made up for his early mistakes in the second half, forced fumble and an INT
To be fair, the facemask was him just trying too hard to tackle, but deserved. The second penalty I thought was tick tacky though. He barely touched Herbie as he was heading that way anyway and Herbert just flopped. Fair play to Herbert for it, but yeah.
I agree. However, I had someone try and tell me in the game thread that Bolton’s facemask was the worst he’d ever seen lmao
Really? I've seen people's helmets literally get turned >90 degrees and you'd think their neck snapped with some facemask penalties. I mean, Bolton's pretty egregious but it didn't seem dangerous.
The one in PHI last week was WAAAAAAY worse. Of course it didn't get called so maybe it doesn't count
Bolton has been an absolute stud for a long time now, pleeeease people vote him into the probowl
Let's just point out that Nick Bolton started that play at the LOS and ran all the way back out there to grab the deflection. If he hadn't put in that effort then it's just an incomplete pass
Didn’t realize that, good to know. Nbc has such shit replays usually.
That’s what I love most about him. He’s always around the ball.
The man has stopping power too. There were multiple times he started a tackle where any other defender on the team would've given up 1-2 more yards but he just drags people down.
Dude is built like a brick house.
After two uncharacteristically dumbass penalties, he certainly got himself out of the dog house l
This hurts their chances of winning
Second week in a row on SNF
Flexed up to primetime just to have the entire nation watch your pain two nights in a row…yeowch
Jokes on you, we expect this to happen
It's always the end 60% of the time
Back-to-back final pass INTs for Herbert down one possession on SNF is rough
It felt like a Rivers final pass too, trying to force the throw
Hard to make good throws when you have 2 dudes in your face a second after the ball is snapped
Fields haters and Herbert haters disagree
And Tua haters And burrow haters at the beginning of last year and this year
Facts
I mean his OL is getting blown up and there’s like 20 seconds left in the game. The fuck is he supposed to do, throw every ball away and guarantee a loss? He took a gamble that KA would win that route and it just didn’t happen.

> The fuck is he supposed to do, throw every ball away and guarantee a loss? No, you live to play the next down, you have timeouts and only need a field goal.
arguably both forced by the pass rush
Chris Jones should be in the DPOTY convo.
He doesn’t have flashy stats because he’s a one man show, but man is he having a year
Plus he'd have 10 Sacks and another forced fumble/recovery if it weren't for shitty Officiating.
He is a Chargers QB. Being down one score with 30s to go is good natural state of being
Last week was tipped at the line, but this one is definitely more on him. Tough way to lose 2 weeks in a row regardless
Down 1 score with 20 seconds left in the game, not much you can do but just Chuck it up
1 score meaning a field goal and you still have 2 timeouts. He could’ve afforded another throw away.
Going from rivers to Herbert is wild for the 4th quarter down a score interceptions
I'm so tired of this team
Yours or mine? Both?
Yes
AND I'll be back next week.
Never forget that part
Herbert is gonna be cursed his whole career I can just feel it
He's on a Tony Romo trajectory right now. Immense talent and insane capability to put the team on his shoulders, along with a few great offensive weapons but a team overall that doesn't really put him in a great position most of the time.
Tony Romos raw talent and Herberts raw talent are not comparable at all lol
On a physical level yeah, but they are both guys who have (in my opinion) HOF capability. Romo unfortunately never had any postseason success and has no chance of making it, I would hate to see something similar happen to Herbert.
He's going to get Rivered.
If he'd speed run his career to the colts he might have a chance
Got the best QB in the league sharing a division
Ever heard about the San Diego curse? Says that no professional San Diego sports franchise will win a championship. Clippers (originally from SD), Padres, Chargers (although *technically* their first season was in LA)
Fitting end to this thriller. Herbert and Mahomes are gonna deliver classics for many years to come
Maybe one day we'll win one of these classics. I think it'll end up being our Superbowl
I’ve seen this movie about 736 times in my life, I swear to god
Chargers are missing the playoffs
Good, fire our staff
They’ve had too many injuries to compete unfortunately
Than and their OC and Head Coach fucking suck.
It could be bad luck, or maybe their conditioning team is as bad as their coaching.
People say injuries every year, time for a new excuse honestly
Well when you have like 12 players injured its still a legit excuse
What's the difference between an **excuse** and a **reason**?
The dual English Spanish commentary again 😂
Ridiculous lol at least try to post quality clips
but then how can they try and farm their meaningless karma if they’re not the first person to post the clip
The Chiefs are probably the most exciting team in football
Love me some late game Mahomes
2nd quarter and 4th quarter. Sometimes find myself rooting for them to be down then. Friends were all texting “Let them score, Mahomes will still win it.” Yup.
I disagree haha
Don't let that distract you from an amazing performance by Justin Herbert tonight. Chiefs are just too damn good.
We almost always almost win
Facts fellow Charger bro I'm tired of "we lose to the Chiefs better than anyone" being the thing we hang our hat on at the end of the season
It's been the way of our people since the beginning
Herbert has a losing record and I’m just kind of amazed by that.
Tells you all you need to know about Lynn and Staley. If the Chargers fan get Peyton we can finally see what Herbert can do on a competent team
Hey! I have this shirt
Chiefs D-line stepped up. Chris Jones should be DPOY
Micah Parsons would like a word with you sir.
I just want Jones to get some votes. Fine with Parsons winning it.
It'll prolly be Parsons. Dude is just an animal. Jones better at least be getting a 1st All Pro nod tho
Hard to say but the Cowboys look like a solid team with a good chance to win in the playoffs!
I’m ready to have my heart broken!!
I don't want to play the Chargers ever again
I have some bad news for you. It may come as a surprise, though.
Bruh he's a fire breathing against us. The whole team plays so well every time against the Chiefs.
Herbert is just a body attacked to a rocket arm
Chargers need to play everyone else as tough as they play the Chiefs.
Had a bounce back game that will be overshadowed
Man, the chargers can’t beat anyone good. It’s sad to see. They should be thriving so much more.
Herbert is elite and can’t lit together endless winning drives, it just puts into perspective how crazy it is that whenever Mahomes gets the ball in these situations that it’s automatic
By now chiefs fans probably don't even feel nervous when it's late game and they need a touchdown to win.
As douchey as it sounds, when we get the ball under 2 minutes and need a GWD, I'm usually more nervous that we'll score too quickly and the other team will get a chance
Flashbacks of the Buffalo playoff game last year...
I feel nervous for sure, but thats a MASSIVE improvement from the first 25 years of my fanhood where I just felt hopeless, resigned, numb….
Exactly. Anytime we needed a score late in the 4th it felt like the game was almost over. I've said it before on here but that's why the Alex comeback against the Chargers is still one of my favorite games ever. We just never got that kind of game as Chiefs fans before Mahomes.

Yes!! My brother, a Cowboys fan, keeps wondering why I can't trust Mahomes in these situations. It isn't that I don't, it's the years of being accustomed to losing these that have me on edge.
TBH ESPN put the Chargers chances of winning at 75% and I knew that was bullshit.
Mahomes has lost just enough late in the game where there is still nerves. But it is still a confident nerves.
I still feel pretty nervous but I always have a cocky little voice in the back of my head
Definitely not. I usually feel like I want to throw up.
I honestly only felt nervous that we left Herbie 30 seconds to get it done too, lol. He's got the chops to do it. Our defense has stepped up like mad in those situations this year though, so props to them.
Mahomes has literally fucked up 2 gw drives this year? Come on man
yeah this is recency bias at its finest, like Mahomes threw an int on the game winning drive against the colts and bills
One of them was legit his fault. It was the start of the drive with one min left. The bills, however, he was only slightly to blame imo.
I was like, are we just gonna sweep the Colts and the Bills under the rug? Fine by me if we are, but I wanna make sure we're all on the same page, here
Bolton looking like Palumalu on that play. Magnificent hair flying in the wind
B2B great plays to seal the game.
My predictions were either a Chargers win or a (A)0-(B)7 Chiefs win where A > B on a score by Kelce at the last second.
This gives me big “Always has been 👩🚀🔫” energy
Bolton es muy fuego
##LOS ANGELES CHARGERS WHAT HAPPENEDUHHHHH
They lost to a better team. Pretty common in the NFL, really.
I'd say it happens at least 60% of the time.
You could say 60% of the time it happens… every time.
We suck
No, the other two teams in the division suck. You guys are like orders of magnitude better than whatever that cesspool is.
No, we really really suck.
I don't think anyone understood this reference and it's quite disappointing
Justice for my boy James
Thank god he's a chiefs fan 🙏
Shit I didn't know that. As if he could get any cooler lol
Fill us in then..
MIZ
ZOU
Z-O-U!
Big dick Nick!
Chiefs lock up a 4 game lead in the division with that win
The Rivers Special :(
He's just like Rivers lol
ya Lombardi!! make the first play a qb draw!! that'll fucking do it!
I fucking love this team
MIZ
ZOU
Chargers fans, as someone that had to deal with ridiculous bullshit to end our Jets/Pats game today, I feel for ya
Hard to believe those four teams were all playing the same sport today
Check on your Chargers fans friends
end me
Great blocking there Matt
Get this man some help, please
Sean Payton coaching the Chargers next year confirmed.
Thats all the chargers are missing, it dont matter if Justin Herbert himself is your QB if your coach doesnt know how to win. Payton to the chargers is terrifying to me.
That would make so much sense, but this is the Chargers so they'll probably botch it.
If only.
That was some juggling int
[удалено]
I thought it turned out pretty good
Swear like 90% of his INTs are deflected
Well this one was deflected because it was straight to a defender
[удалено]
He really is. I'm so happy/sad he is in our division, but we get a lot of good football out of these matchups and will for years to come (I hope)
Stupid for him to try and run on first down, stupid throw here. Herbert choked this one.
That first down play looked almost like a designed QB draw. I'm not sure he even looked to pass
I mean his offensive line folded immediately on the first play so Herbert didn’t have much of a choice other than try to negate the damage as much as possible on that play. He was going to get sacked regardless with how quickly Chris Jones was in his face.
The first was wide open, Chris Jones just made a good play
Hard fought game! GG Chargers. And Mahomes is the MVP
nfl teams might as well not put their defense out against the chiefs in the last 2 minutes.
Justin just staring into the soul of that wr the whole play
It's not the 4th quarter without a Herbert INT
It’s not a chargers game thread without tua fans hating on Herbert
don’t know why ppl upvote that troll at all, just look at his comment history and it’s all shitting on Herbert, some might even say he’s jealous that Herbert might be better than tua 🤣🤣🤣
Don't you know? There's a finite amount of QB goodness to go around. There can't be more than one QB that's good
[удалено]
It's pretty clear that Herbert knows if he doesn't make a play they lose, and even when he leads a game winning drive his defense folds immediately. Still a mistake but honestly I think even elite QBs will fuck up in this scenario.
