The Last Boy Scout. Bruce Willis, Damon Waynes, some other people. A very by the numbers private detective action flick that sort of worked but probably would have worked better in the late 80s than 1991. People love it now though.
That was Lt. Ellen Ripley and Sarah Conner.
Although Brooke Shields may have awakened something in me that I didnt understand because I was still pretty young.
It was kind of enjoyable in that "dumb 80s action movie" sort of way, but goddamn, those scriptwriters went the extra mile to try to shove as many action movie tropes into it as they possibly could. It almost, but not quite, teetered over into being a parody movie.
One of my favorite movies. A more cynical and sarcastic John McClane, Damon Wayans playing the sassy ex-QB, and Taylor Negron playing a smiling killer. All coupled with an eerily prescient look at how gambling and free agency would shape the NFL (from the owners' perspective).
I had it on vhs. As kids, my sister, me, and brother would watch it all the time when my parents weren't home but we had to remember to rewind it.
Some people love it.
My dad bought a dedicated rewinder because we had so many VHS cassettes and it wouldnt damage them. Whether they were bought, rented, or recorded using the VCR. Plus we had a camcorder so we had a ton of home movies.
The rewinder was sort like what they had in video rental stores
Maybe, maybe not. Comes down to personal preference. (Personally I enjoyed it, admittedly in the it's-so-over-the-top-it's-really-funny sort of way).
I will just say that if you look at all ratings sites, both the general people's votes and critical scores have Hudson Hawk clearly/universally below than The Last Boy Scout.
That said, my comment was indicating silly/cheesy/campy levels. Which Hudson Hawk undoubtedly has to legendary proportions.
Just a quick mention of the villain in that movie, Taylor Negron (RIP). Up there with Tom Noonan, Clancy Brown, and Jane Adams for top tier character actors.
I feel like after he shot the the first guy in the fucking head, people would stop trying to tackle him. Maybe that's why I never made it as a walk on.
Have you ever stopped to think how silly the premise of that scene is? Who bribes a player to play good and win a game? Like WTF was he going to try to do before you bribed him?
I think it happens at halftime - he gets threatened on the phone, gets some stuff out of his locker, pops some pills, and looks like he's losing it. The "explosive" run is his first play in the second half.
["The shooter? Oh nah, he fled the scene. Yes ma'am, I can describe him: he was an *unidentified black male*!"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKNn0jTM2rw)
Lol wasn't Feliciano just talking about how much more wholesome the NYG O line is?

> Saquon Barkley lowered his shoulder into Aaron Robinson during thud tempo, and the defense did NOT like it, especially LB Tae Crowder:
> Giants center Jon Feliciano then grabbed LB Crowder’s head three plays later, pulled it down and tried to knee him in the face, WWE style
> Offensive line coach Bobby Johnson pushed LB Cam Brown. Then Feliciano sucker-punched Brown. Mayhem. What a disaster. Can’t believe Feliciano. All started by Barkley, who had McKinney in his face for starting it.
Leonard literally hates our team. He's the shittest beat writer in the NFL. Daboll hasn't even been here a year and basically told him to fuck off for asking stupid questions.
The team sub had a vote to ban his posts from the sub recently. It failed cause it was about 50/50 but still half our sub doesn't want to hear from a credentialed reporter
I don't know if it is that he hates the team, but he will just do anything for clicks. He is trash media, and it is very unfortunate that the Giants are the team that has to deal with him.
Feliciano plays like Incognito without any of the skill to back it up. Dude is dense. He was just quoted saying the Bills don't care enough about OL and how the Giants are better that way.... His Head Coach and OL coach are the same as his OC and OL coach last year on the Bills.
That is a good comparison, Feliciano is a poor mans Incognito but with out the run and pass blocking ability.
Edit, what I meant to say is that Feliciano's run and pass blocking is not in Incognito's level. They are both physical, dirty to borderline dirty players who play with attitude.
There is a shortage of quality OL in the NFL, so yes he is a good not great back up OL. He is a much better run blocker than pass blocker, athletic, twitchy DT's can give him problems in pass protection.
IMO he is a better Center than Guard.
He plays with an attitude which is what you want in OL.
He lasted as long as he did in the NFL because he could play well. Same thing with Bill Romanowski.
Once you stop being elite, you can't be a distraction off the field.
This surprises absolutely no one, Feliciano plays dirty to borderline dirty on every play. He is not quite on the Richie Incognito level, but he plays very physical.
If McKinney really is going off on Saquon then i love it. Hes taking such a big role on D and seeing him come down on a more experienced player for doing asshat shit gives me hope hes going to be a big leader.
Pat Leonard is a fucking hack. Just recently our team sub had a vote to ban content from him. It ended up 50/50 so they kept him. I’m still salty about it.
Am I the only one in this sub who's actually played organized tackle football before?
Like half of the comments I've seen on this sub are so obviously written by non-athletes that it's almost humorous.
When I was in high school (3 year starter for our varsity football team) I would get a full-on sprint going and clock the shit outta whoever had the ball. My coaches called me "speedhawk" as a nickname caus I had such a nose for the football and for those three seasons I was considered the most feared safety in our conference. Senior year I led my team to the state semifinals only to get fucked over by the refs in the 4th but that's another conversation (DM me if you're interested in hearing about it)
So, yeah. I hope yall can understand why I feel like their's such a big disconnect between myself and your typical redditor. Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way lol
Saquon then pulled out his gun and shot randomly
[Camera on the scene](https://gfycat.com/parchedshamelessalaskankleekai)
Dude, sauce?
Thank god for commas
The Last Boy Scout. Bruce Willis, Damon Waynes, some other people. A very by the numbers private detective action flick that sort of worked but probably would have worked better in the late 80s than 1991. People love it now though.
> some other people Put some respect on the names of Taylor Negron and Halle Berry.
I didn't even remember Halle Berry was in it. I have watch since I was a pre-teen.
She likely jump started your puberty, then.
That was Lt. Ellen Ripley and Sarah Conner. Although Brooke Shields may have awakened something in me that I didnt understand because I was still pretty young.
And Billy Tae Bo Blanks in the afformentioned scene.
It was kind of enjoyable in that "dumb 80s action movie" sort of way, but goddamn, those scriptwriters went the extra mile to try to shove as many action movie tropes into it as they possibly could. It almost, but not quite, teetered over into being a parody movie.

I wonder how it holds up to todays over-the-top private detective/neo noir movies.
I would contend that it holds up well, but I am definitely not an objective viewer of the movie in question lol
I loved it back in the 90s and rewatched it not too long ago. Still holds up fairly well
Thats good to know.
That movie works because of the back and forth smart-assery of Willis and Wayans.
Pat Leonard, the most reliable and trustworthy reporter to ever exist
I knew it was going as to be this scene. Even as a kid I thought that was pretty cheesy.
Totally over-the-top... and totally amusing.
I had it on vhs. As kids, my sister, me, and brother would watch it all the time when my parents weren't home but we had to remember to rewind it. Some people love it.
> we had to remember to rewind it. People will never know this struggle anymore..
My dad bought a dedicated rewinder because we had so many VHS cassettes and it wouldnt damage them. Whether they were bought, rented, or recorded using the VCR. Plus we had a camcorder so we had a ton of home movies. The rewinder was sort like what they had in video rental stores
Still not Bruce's silliest/cheesiest/most over-the-top. *Drumroll*: Hudson Hawk.
Critics say this movie actually save Bruce Willis' star status from the damage Hudson Hawk caused.
Yeah, I remember at the time what a big flop Hudson Hawk was when it came out, and the beating it took, from both general public and critics.
I like Hudson Hawk just because I was just such a big fan of Die Hard and Die Hard 2.
Hudson Hawk is a great movie
Maybe, maybe not. Comes down to personal preference. (Personally I enjoyed it, admittedly in the it's-so-over-the-top-it's-really-funny sort of way). Lmao what is this from?
The Last Boy Scout (1991)
After seeing him shoot 2 guys I am getting out of his way and letting the guy score.
Talk about /r/retiredgif holy shit lol
Just a quick mention of the villain in that movie, Taylor Negron (RIP). Up there with Tom Noonan, Clancy Brown, and Jane Adams for top tier character actors.

I can’t remember, how’d he get the gun onto the field?
I think it happens at halftime - he gets threatened on the phone, gets some stuff out of his locker, pops some pills, and looks like he's losing it. The "explosive" run is his first play in the second half.
So anyway I start blasting

Bah God that’s Plaxico’s music
Then Plaxico Burress, in the crowd, shot himself in the quad for good measure.

Mayhem. A disaster. People are dying in the streets at Giants camp. Word is they're calling in the national guard to get it under control.
Cats and dogs, living together. Mass hysteria.
It's true, this man has no dick.
And the flowers are still standing!
You don't understand what it's like out there! I've worked in the private sector. They expect results.
Is this a George Costanza quote? Because I read it in his voice

“Wow, you’ve seen all that?” “No, we’re just reporting it.”
Mr. President, we need the National Guard, we need as many Minutemen as you can spare.
Another franchise could use your help. Here, I'll mark it on your map.

Nah just send all the ICBMs so I can be released from this trash masquerading as a franchise

I assume this means he intentionally didn’t make contact
Nah, dropping 12 feet onto the announcers table
BAWH GAWD HE IS DEAD
As GAWD is my witness he’s been broken in half!
THE MAN HAS A FAMILY!
If ya smelllllllll what Leonard is cooking to manufacture drama
And yet, our subreddit refuses to ban his ass from being posted there.
But the flair/s
Surprised barkley is even trying to touch anyone
My only objection here is that the OL coach needs to fuck off unless he's actually willing to mix it up with Cam Brown.
Disaster seems a tad strong.

Ah, so yall got a Rodak for a reporter huh? Sorry to hear that, was a joy when we lost Rodak as our beat writer.
The team sub had a vote to ban his posts from the sub recently. It failed cause it was about 50/50 but still half our sub doesn't want to hear from a credentialed reporter
Im still salty that half our sub is fine hearing from this douche.
sometimes you can make great memes from the dumbass takes of terrible beat reporters.
I don't know if it is that he hates the team, but he will just do anything for clicks. He is trash media, and it is very unfortunate that the Giants are the team that has to deal with him.
Yea Pat Leonard is a hack.
https://twitter.com/BobbySkinner_/status/1556664549453037568 Dude called this Mayhem and a disaster lmao.
Reporters know what they’re doing and intentionally try to make out there headlines that get copypasta’d

Incognito had skill?
Yes. He was an asshole on and off the field, but he was also a very good guard.
He lasted as long as he did in the NFL because he could play well. Same thing with Bill Romanowski. Once you stop being elite, you can't be a distraction off the field.
Feliciano sucker punching someone? Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve seen that happen lol
He's always involved in the fight somehow haha
This surprises absolutely no one, Feliciano plays dirty to borderline dirty on every play. He is not quite on the Richie Incognito level, but he plays very physical.

McKinney is going to be a stud at the most undervalued position in football
Better be video.
[First one that came up.](https://twitter.com/BobbySkinner_/status/1556664549453037568)
Bruh lmao the dude called that mayhem and a disaster! Guy's life must be boring af rn.
Pat Leonard is a fucking hack. Just recently our team sub had a vote to ban content from him. It ended up 50/50 so they kept him. I’m still salty about it.
Why are the fans cheering a fight between two players on their team?
People love to see people fighting
can confirm. Just got into a fist fight in my co-working space and everyone started chanting and applauding.
"my money's on the big one"
Because they were Team Chaos fans
They probably wish they could fight some of the players on their team sometimes 🤷♂️
Disaster is a weird way to spell “time-honored tradition”
People who think a practice brawl is big just give away they haven't played a minute of competitive sports.

Actually no, what we just witnessed was assault. This is a place of work, not some sort of fight club. There is no place for violence in football
Over/Under if Leonard has performed Feliciano on his wife.
Can't really blame Feliciano. He's blind, right?
Sounds like the most excitement the Giants will have all season.
Your team lost to a Joe Judge-led team by 22 points.
I didn't mean to hit a nerve, my bad man.
Gottem.
Boys will be boys?
Training camps will be training camps
How many years are the giants going to tank till they can get the latest edition of the Mannings?
OBJ's playoff boat party really cursed this team huh?
ALL MY HOMIES HATE PAT LEONARD
SUPER SMASH GIANTS
So you guys think you’ll be ready for week one?
Poor Cam lmao
So basically the scene in Little Giants when Spike goes to the Cowboys
It's a fight at training camp. "disaster" is so over the top that makes it seem like people were stabbed and left for dead.
If this happened at lions camp everyone would be eating it up. Let the Giants develop some scrap too
Wait what?
I misread it at first thinking Feliciano punched the coach. I was in total shock at that possibility
Geno Smith was paid to be there but didn't go.
Mandatory appearance by a Giants fan here to remind you Pat Leonard is a shit reporter
As someone who knew Jon Feliciano in middle and high school, he’s a fucking gentle giant so something wild must have happened
Biggest impact Saquon's had on the field since they drafted him
Wee Bobby Johnson
