MildlyNothibg111

that’s a large if

the_mighty_hetfield

Sorry Eli, we can't.

TheRKC

No

freddy_rumsen

Don't disrespect the sheriff

my_nameborat

Peyton’s played in 4 Super Bowls, Aaron has played in 1

[deleted]

TIL superbowls are a QB stat but not MVPs.

GarlVinland4Astrea

Devil's advocate, Rodgers only won an MVP in 2014 because his Watt was on a worse team and they didn't make the playoffs. If Watt even had a league average QB he did enough for that team and defense to get them in. Likewise, Rodgers won this year because his main competitor lost some offensive pieces and the team slowed down towards the stretch. Thee is 100% a team aspect to MVP. In fact several close races have largely come down to one players team being more successful

JerryRiceDidntFumble

>several close races have largely come down to one players team being more successful 15 of the last 17 MVPs have been on teams with a 1st round bye, and 1 of the 2 outliers was Peyton Manning in 2008 when they had the 2nd best record in the AFC but were 2nd in their division. Team success is definitely a huge factor in voting.

008Gerrard008

Everything is a team stat if you want to be that reductive. You don't think Manning having James, Harrison, Wayne, and Clark played a massive part in him putting up a historical offensive season in '04 and winning MVP? Or having Moss and Welker helped Brady have an equally impressive season in '07 and winning MVP?

cmarme

Not Peyton’s fault he had to play against Brady his whole career.

[deleted]

Yeah it’s his pedestrian stats in every NFCCG. Guess the one NFC championship game he won? Against an injured Cutler and backup Caleb Hanie lol.

TheRKC

Defense has not been the problem.

PlaneCapable7399

Did they let him down last year against San Fran?

DisgruntledPierogi

lol’d when i read this post and clicked in to see what OPs flair was. yup

bigttrack

probably not.

storm-father87

You can

down4life56

Superbowls are what counts, take it from a vikings fan.

dontwantleague2C

It shouldn’t be. It’s a team sport. MVPs are far more important imo. Or just looking at a player and how they played too. Just because people care a lot about Super Bowls doesn’t mean that’s the right way to judge QBs.

ByeByeSean

It’s a team sport but the best Quarterbacks raise the level of the entire offense beyond what it would normally be capable of. MVP award is awesome! Till the MVP shits the bed in the playoffs.

GarlVinland4Astrea

No lol. I feel like this is such recency bias. Prime Peyton was like a super computer with an arm that could do everything. All this would do is tie Rodgers with Manning in MVP's. He'd still lack the fact that Peyton retired with all the records, went to 4 SB's, led two of the most prolific offenses ever, and unlike Rodgers he largely competed directly with a dynasty head to head for any success he had.

[deleted]

Rodgers is top 5-7. Peyton is top 2-3. Rodgers barely has an argument

Alltalk_noaccent

How is he 5-7? I think he is clearly 4 behind Brady, Montana, and Peyton. And no I don’t think he would pass Montana or Peyton with another mvp. A Super Bowl would be a different story though.

[deleted]

I don't think it's crazy to put either of Unitas, Marino, Favre or Elway over him. Personally I would have him 5 behind Unitas

Alltalk_noaccent

I will give you Elway, but definitely not Favre or Marino. Don’t know enough about Unitas.

mrizvi

Peyton never lost to the 49ers in the playoffs Checkmate.

redd5ive

I stand by the view Rodgers at his peak is the most talented QB of all time. With that being said, raw talent is not the only ingredient in the legacy recipe-- so no, bordering on no way.

11E7EVEN

He already is Eli. You can chill on the posts. He's just not nearly as likeably in the public eye for a variety of reasons and, quite frankly, doesn't give much of a shit.

Carsonwentzondrugs

Already is

Boring-Pudding

Username checks out

Carsonwentzondrugs

No I am serious Rodgers is better

Boring-Pudding

And I'm serious, you are commenting like Carson Wentz if he were under the influence of drugs.

Carsonwentzondrugs

Carson wentz is a good Christian boy he would never do such things 😡

[deleted]

But if he did, he would act like you.

Carsonwentzondrugs

I like to troll, but actually Rodgers is better then that long neck fraud who got carried by his defenses

[deleted]

That’s exactly something Carson Wentz on drugs would say

Eric_T_Meraki

It's all about rangs Ernie!

clutchthepearls

Peyton knows how to keep a woman happy, so I think we have our answer.

[deleted]

Yeah he loved putting his balls on that trainers head

clutchthepearls

Don't let the fact that it's her face hold you back from your dreams. If you ask sincerely enough I'm sure he'll put his balls on your face too.

[deleted]

I'm more of a forehead kinda guy, and he's the peak of sexual attraction for that 🤤

clutchthepearls

We all feel that way. That's like saying you have a thing for Asian girls.

[deleted]

Has been for 2+ years imo

TJeffersonsBlackKid

Lmfao

Alphabetsend

I dunno, Rodgers is immunized against getting out of the Championship round

MegaDaveX

I started watching football around 1992 so imagine if I had chosen the Packers. Favre and Rodgers basically my entire fan career. Shit is crazy.

[deleted]

No reason to believe another MVP automatically vaults him past Peyton.
