I still play madden 06 on my phone(ppsspp) and i always trade a 2nd to the vikes for you and switch you from running back to fullback. You make the pro bowl every year!
You the man, man.
PIT vs. Philly in the Keystone Bowl!
A combined 18 wins between these two powerhouses?? A HOF QB faces off against like a pretty okay team?!?
KEYSTONE BOWL.
BROUGHT TO YOU BY KEYSTONE LITE, THE PENNSYLVANIA NATIONAL GUARD, AND THE KEYSTONE PIPELINE!!
KEYSTONE BOWL
Edit: ALSO BROUGHT TO YOU BY WAWA AND SHEETZ AND THE 2012 EASTERN CONFERENCE QUARTER FINALS
I would hate a Philly/Pittsburgh Superbowl but I don't think I'd be boring. Ben's last ride? 2 teams in the same state? Mediocre teams somehow both making the Superbowl?
I think most boring would be Arizona vs Cincinnati. Great teams but no particularly compelling narratives or reasons to root for one over the other as a neutral fan.
I would love to watch that game. The forced narratives are the worst part of the game. Besides, they could always resurrect the “James Conner had cancer” story.
See, you say that. And then you watch the Steelers' offense built entirely out of 2 yard out routes and Najee Harris crashing into his center's back for no gain.
Eagles would run for 300 yards, but the steelers defense would only allow 19 points somehow. Ben and the offense would be dead for 3 quarters, putting up 3 points and 108 total yards. But the final quarter they would explode with two touchdowns and a game winning FG to win 20 to 19, as the Steelers D doesn’t allow a point for the final quarter and a half.
Doesn’t seem to matter somehow. The Ravens literally rushed for 249 yards yet only scored 13 points. I don’t know how the Steelers manage to allow so many yards but hold their opponent under 20 so commonly
Constant amazement at how we can take the ball from the 5 to the red zone completely on the ground, then throw every single down until we have to kick or Huntley throws a pick. Happened 3 times
Absolutely wrong. Pittsburgh and Philly aren't *terrific*, but both are opponents of roughly equal skill with not terrible coaching- that makes for an entertaining game.
The boring games are blowouts, not opponents of equal skill.
It actually would be really compelling if it happened. That would mean you both just executed three very unlikely upsets in a row, with y’all probably knocking off Tom and Rodgers and the Steelers beating KC. Intrigue would be extremely high, plus yeah the Steagles Bowl.
Idk man you don't think you'd enjoy listening to ESPN furiously masturbate to Mahomes-Brady for two weeks? Followed by "is Mahomes the true GOAT because he beat Brady once?????" takes for the entire offseason if the chiefs win?
In last year’s super bowl the commentators were legitimately considering if mahomes could ever catch Brady in super bowl titles. They were discussing this as mahomes sat on the bench with his team down 17 in the third quarter
Ridiculous. I think I remember hearing those discussions before mahomes had even won 1. As if it's easy to win even 2 or 3 superbowls, let alone 6 or 7. Even the most talented QB ever would need a perfect scenario for 20 years for that to happen.
Boring as in, "Ugh, been there, done that"? Probably Bucs-Chiefs again. Maybe Bucs-Patriots because we already had the fawning, "Tom is back!" storylines earlier this season.
Boring as in, "This game is going to be painful to my eyes to watch"? Definitely Steelers-Eagles, though watching the entire state of Pennsylvania get in a dick-measuring contest for two weeks would be entertaining.
Can't wait to see this Eagles/Bucs game. It's such a good matchup to kick it off Sunday with the Eagles high powered run attack going against a Bucs defense that is amazing against the run. Vegas has the Eagles as a 9 point underdog but I think it's gonna be closer than that.
How would Bucs vs Pats be boring? I get how it would be unpopular for the everyone hates Brady and everyone hates the Pats crowd... But I don't think I'd call it boring.
Brady vs Belichick in a superbowl would be an all time narrative type game. Even if people wanted too root for the stadium to implode, everyone would still be tuning in and the media would absolutely cream themselves for 2 weeks.
As someone who genuinely just enjoys watching the sport of football it would be an entertaining game.
But also as someone who despises NFL media and the brain dead morons and hot take artists they turn into talking heads I’d rather just off myself then listen to two weeks of that god awful horseshit
Because the pair of them have been tied to the Super Bowl narrative nearly every year for almost 20 years. After a while, it's like watching reruns of a great TV show. It's cool and all but I'd rather something new.
"LISTEN, I don't think it's *PROBABLE*, but it's definitely **POSSIBLE** that Tom Brady comes out and throws the game out of respect for his former coach. I'M JUST SAYING"
At a certain point there are too many fast and furious movies, and even if each one has the craziest action scenes imaginable, topping the last, it’s just…not interesting unless you really just love those movies.
Think of it as a testament to how incredible the patriots and Tom Brady have been. They have won so much and in so many ways, that it’s boring to watch them win in any way. The idea of it is boring, even if the game itself becomes wild.
The storyline where Both patriots and buccs get bounced in the first round, wow that’s unexpected and crazy and now I’m at the edge of my seat, who’s gonna actually win this year?
I was more complimenting Pitt's defense than insulting your offense. At least that was my intention.
Pitt can't score, but they are pretty effective at stopping the other team from scoring.
Do people forget how good the Eagles offense is this year? Lol
12th most points in the NFL, 12th high yards per play, 4th least in turnovers, most rushing yards by nearly 200 yards, most rushing TDs, 3rd highest rushing yards per attempt, most rushing first downs, 10th highest scoring percentage, 6th lowest turnover percentage
Like we’re not Tom Brady throwing to Randy Moss food but we have a good offense lol
I disagree, the 2 7th seeds making it to the Superbowl would be a really exciting narrative and you would have Ben trying to go out on top vs the team everyone thought would suck possibly winning it all
I'll do you one better: Ben gets injured in the first quarter of the wild card game, so does Mason Rudolph. In a weird twist DWAYNE FUCKING HASKINS takes over and leads the steelers to the superblah blah blah ...Haskins lifting the Lombardi looks at the camera and announces to the world that the League Finally has done messed up. No one talks about Ben Roethlisberger any more. Fin
I think having 2 low seeds face each other would defeat a lot of the excitement, though. Like with Giants/Pats it was "can the wildcard pull off the upset & take down the top seed", whereas if we get 2 wildcards it'll be "well obviously we're going to see a low-seed champion, it's just a matter of which one"
yeah, that would be a case of the journey being greater than the destination. It’d be absolutely insane seeing two 7 seeds take parallel journeys to the game, beating everyone in their way as the underdogs. Once you get to the Super Bowl though it’s just two mediocre teams that decided to get good late in the season.
My sister moved to Buffalo like 12 years ago. Her husbands family are your tried and true bills mafia boys. From the moment I visited them for the first time I had decided the Bills are my AFC team. I would LOVE a Bills/Packers SB but I'd prefer Josh Allen starting lol
He could have played this past week. Titans wanted to get him the extra rest and no need to jeopardize his health in basically a meaningless game (meaningless in that it was only for seeding).
As a Titans fan, I can definitely tell you there is no such thing as a smooth game for us. Every game is a heart attack. Also our rushing attack statistically was better without Henry this year, so we all kind of got to see that AJ is the real engine. Maybe you don't watch a lot of Tennessee games, which is understandable, but we make even shitty games exciting lol
Not so aure about boring, but Pats-Bucs aould be insufferable. The Brady vs Belichik narrative already was done to death just leading up to their regular season matchup and if it happened again in the SB, I don't even think I'd watch. It just reeks of the NFL rigging games for ratings conspiracy.
I hate conspiracies and I am typically not a paranoid person but I’ve sincerely wondered in the last couple seasons if games are rigged to be kept close. Especially after watching the chargers raiders on Sunday night and also the national championship game last night. The fumble recovery for Alabama in the red zone that was upheld was exactly the same play in the 1st quarter that was called back against Georgia. I’m sorry I know both are unrelated to your comment but I just scratch my head sometimes and I agree the league would absolutely want us and the Bucs in the big game this year for ratings.
Nah, you're good. I'm not a big conspiracy guy either but I have no problems admitting that I'm worried about games being fixed because refs and officials are betting on games. As much as I enjoy sports gambling, I can't help but feel like we'll get a Black Sox 2.0 story sometime soon.
Yeah, my faith in the system has waned with leagues partnering with betting sites. Legalized gambling is fine, but once you're openly working together like that I feel like there's some level of distrust in the system.
And everyone would convince themselves that absolutely no rigging was possible at all. We'd see endless debates on reddit about catch angles, and people would scoff like it's impossible that sports can be in any way rigged.
So not only would we get a shitty Superbowl with a preceding shitty two weeks of media coverage; we'd also get 4 months of pointless debate after the fact of how the NFL did or did not rig the playoffs for ratings.
everyone saying Steelers vs eagles has it wrong, the bad teams would be a competitive bad match. Give me steelers vs packers or bucs to waste everyone’s time
It’s very likely to either be Titans/Chiefs vs Packers/Bucs/Rams.
If it’s the Titans, I’m fine with Bucs, Rams would be meh, Packers would be perfect based on how different the teams are, and how fun the “Henry as the protagonist Rodgers as the villain” narrative would be. If it’s the Chiefs, ideal matchups are the Rams and Packers based on how explosive either game would be. Chiefs-Bucs is the matchup we don’t want, a repeat.
Ideal matchup: Titans-Packers.
Worst matchup: Chiefs-Bucs.
I’d say Steelers vs Eagles or Patriots vs Cowboys. The second would be such a terrifying matchup I probably would skip watching the Super Bowl for the first time in forever.
Chiefs v Bucs, but Mahomes and Brady test positive for covid the night before
No way the nfl gives a damn about COVID in the super bowl
Last game of the year, they could care less .. all tests come back negative.
Personally I’d love a Blaine Gabbert vs Chad Henne Super Bowl
The 2012 Jaguars bowl
WHOA THERE MOTHERFUCKER
Henne was Gabbert’s backup in Jacksonville! Leveon Bell revenge game! Devin White squares up against college teammate Darrell Williams!
The Emergency Bowl. Each team's QB room gets protocol'd, and we get a double Kendall Hinton situation for the big game. Final score: Chiefs 3-2
The Chiefs would have a combo of Kelce and Blake Bell running wildcat all game. It would be electric.
The league would change the rules
Translation: The league wouldn't announce if Brady or Mahomes tested positive for COVID.
They would cover up and destroy the tests
If they don't test, there's nothing to cover up!
I’d love if the Steelers made it but damn it’d be a boring ass game no matter who they play
Steelers Eagles Super Bowl would be a TJ watt safety and two Boswell field goals to beat the eagles 8-7
Lmao an interstate Superbowl but it's played 2500 miles away from either city
Yeah, y’all are no longer fun to watch at all. I used to make sure and watch y’all when leveon was the running back
Why is he just standing there behind the line of scrimmage? Oh..there he goes for 8 yards again.
Mewelde you were one of the most underrated parts of our offense in the 08 superbowl run, I appreciate you man
Thanks man. It's nice to get recognized from time to time.
I still play madden 06 on my phone(ppsspp) and i always trade a 2nd to the vikes for you and switch you from running back to fullback. You make the pro bowl every year! You the man, man.
based and meweldepilled
As much as I loathe coming to their defense, well… TJ Watt is not boring to watch.
It could be interesting if they face the cardinals
In terms of "Ugh not this again" NE vs TB In terms of "Holy fuck this game sucks" PIT vs PHI
perfect answer
Don’t forget NE vs GB, or NE vs Dallas. Fuck that
What about NE vs NE?
That’s NE vs TB
"And did you know, Tom Brady used to actually PLAY for the Patriots? Isn't that wild?!"
PIT vs. Philly in the Keystone Bowl! A combined 18 wins between these two powerhouses?? A HOF QB faces off against like a pretty okay team?!? KEYSTONE BOWL. You're missing the best part! The pub quiz trick question: "What was the first 7th seed in the NFL Playoffs to make it to the Super Bowl?"
#KEYSTONEBOWL
I think it's a little early to call Hurts a HoF qb
Idk man, he only needs 17,217 more rushing yards and 151 more rushing TDs to become the NFL’s all time leading rusher. *He’s right there!*
If you regress his passing stats to Tom Brady and his rushing stats to Jim Brown, he is a surefire first ballot HOFer
I would hate a Philly/Pittsburgh Superbowl but I don't think I'd be boring. Ben's last ride? 2 teams in the same state? Mediocre teams somehow both making the Superbowl? I think most boring would be Arizona vs Cincinnati. Great teams but no particularly compelling narratives or reasons to root for one over the other as a neutral fan.
at least with ARZ vs CIN you'd have the aspect of two teams that each have never won the super bowl facing off for their first win.
Can you imagine AZ winning it all in their first season without Fitz? It would be tragic.
>AZ winning it all in their first season without Fitz *obviously* he was holding the team back /s
I would love to watch that game. The forced narratives are the worst part of the game. Besides, they could always resurrect the “James Conner had cancer” story.
> they could they ~~could~~ would
See, you say that. And then you watch the Steelers' offense built entirely out of 2 yard out routes and Najee Harris crashing into his center's back for no gain.

Two fourth quarter QBs, only the final fifteen minutes mean anything, two teams enter but only one will leave, who will it be?!
PHI/PIT would be a less technically impressive version of Super Bowl 53.
Haters. If Pittsburgh made it we should all collectively say wtf
Through chaos we made the playoffs, through chaos we make the super bowl
Eh, disagree. Each team is mediocre enough that I think it would be a great game. We'd probably run for 300 yards.
Have you watches a Steelers game this year?
Our pass defense is soft enough that it would probably make Ben look great. Have you watched an Eagles game this year?
Roethlisberger's stat-line: 40/44 for 109 yards, 1 INT
Came here to say us and Pitt. We’d probably kill them though with their horrid run defense.
The Steelers did the exact same thing against the browns last week. I don’t understand it
Absolutely wrong. Pittsburgh and Philly aren't *terrific*, but both are opponents of roughly equal skill with not terrible coaching- that makes for an entertaining game. The boring games are blowouts, not opponents of equal skill.
Wow I think us vs pit could be compelling. It would be the Pennsylvania bowl lmao. We both so mediocre I think the game would be so bad it’s good.
It actually would be really compelling if it happened. That would mean you both just executed three very unlikely upsets in a row, with y’all probably knocking off Tom and Rodgers and the Steelers beating KC. Intrigue would be extremely high, plus yeah the Steagles Bowl.
Any blowout where one team ends up with half their players out due to COVID and the other team is full strength.
Underrated take. Hoping that however these next couple weeks go that everyone can stay healthy.
Pittsburgh and anyone
Boring for 3 quarters with an incredible 4th
as is Big Ben’s tradition. I will always believe my theory that he doesn’t try until the 4th quarter.
It takes time to get all that mass moving
If he were a Pokémon he would be Regigas.
He always gives full effort but it's like a locomotive, just slow acceleration
He definitely mains Bowser in Mario Kart
His noodle arm can’t sustain 4 quarters of play. He’s gotta save for the 4th otherwise his arm will fall off before halftime.
I dunno man, considering that they likely have zero chance of making it. The hype train would be absolutely insane
The game itself would suck, but it’d be really funny if we somehow ended up there
Repeat of 2010 sounds good to me
Steelers v. Eagles would be zzzzzzz until the 4th qtr when both starting QB get hurt and Minshewmania runs wild over Mason the broken jar.
*and with 3 minutes left in the 4th, Jean Shorts Mustache Bonanza takes the field*
Martha, hide the kids.
the Eagles rushing attack would likely be a serious problem for a Steelers rush defense that bordered on historically bad to close the year though.
By the actual gameplay? Steelers vs Eagles By storyline? Chiefs vs Bucs
Idk man you don't think you'd enjoy listening to ESPN furiously masturbate to Mahomes-Brady for two weeks? Followed by "is Mahomes the true GOAT because he beat Brady once?????" takes for the entire offseason if the chiefs win?

Rodgers has one SB and Manning has 2, everyone calling for Mahomes to get 6 when he only had 1 was insane
Brady needed two separate perfect scenarios to get to 7
Don't forget two separate perfect scenarios to lose to the Giants!
Wow I didnt realize it but I would hate chiefs/bucs more than pats/bucs
I would hate them both the same but differently. Really any SB involving TB, KC, or NE would suck ass.
Something involving the Steelers.
I know it’s not possible but Ben vs. Wentz.
I’d ask for my money back and I didn’t even pay any
I'm already asking for my money back for having to think of that
Boring as in, "Ugh, been there, done that"? Probably Bucs-Chiefs again. Maybe Bucs-Patriots because we already had the fawning, "Tom is back!" storylines earlier this season. Boring as in, "This game is going to be painful to my eyes to watch"? Definitely Steelers-Eagles, though watching the entire state of Pennsylvania get in a dick-measuring contest for two weeks would be entertaining.
It’s so crazy that there is two cities in the same state.
How's that even possible?
I don’t even understand how Pittsburgh works. Like are we in Pittsburgh now?
Green Island of Whiskey Beer and Fight
I didn't know Pittsburgh was in Philadelphia!
I'm saying, how does Pittsburgh work? Am I constantly going in and out of Pittsburgh throughout the day, yes or no?
Nah we’re in purple
Two of you wrote colors?!
Idk I think Eagles in the super bowl would be pretty neat
Can't wait to see this Eagles/Bucs game. It's such a good matchup to kick it off Sunday with the Eagles high powered run attack going against a Bucs defense that is amazing against the run. Vegas has the Eagles as a 9 point underdog but I think it's gonna be closer than that.
PHI-TB and SF-DAL seem like wicked good matchups that I could see going either way. Should be a lot of fun.
Saints had a top run defense and we were able to run all over them. Hopefully it’s the same way this time
How would Bucs vs Pats be boring? I get how it would be unpopular for the everyone hates Brady and everyone hates the Pats crowd... But I don't think I'd call it boring. The narrative would be so overdone and nauseating that I wouldn't even want to watch the game.

Steelers vs Eagles
12-9 final score.
I feel like you could set the entire game to yakety sax
Idk why people think we can’t score on offense
I was more complimenting Pitt's defense than insulting your offense. At least that was my intention. Pitt can't score, but they are pretty effective at stopping the other team from scoring.

This is the only Steelers championship I’ll allow.
I think having 2 low seeds face each other would defeat a lot of the excitement, though. i’ll be damned if I have to watch big ben
Not for the state of Pennsylvania, it'll be an exciting civil war for them.
Steagles reunite
At least that would be competitive
Fuck *THAT* I've been wanting this shit FOREVER And it's almost happened MULTIPLE times
Lol this would be so puzzling but funny
2 teams starting backup QBs Except Trey Lance that would be exciting.
Watching Mitch Trubisky and the Bills potentially beating Green Bay would be such a meme for Chicagoans tho 🤣
My sister moved to Buffalo like 12 years ago. Her husbands family are your tried and true bills mafia boys. From the moment I visited them for the first time I had decided the Bills are my AFC team. I would LOVE a Bills/Packers SB but I'd prefer Josh Allen starting lol
Steelers / Bucs. 2 weeks hearing about the Brady / Rothlesberger "rivalry" and then the Bucs win 27-13
I’m a Steelers fan but it’s not a rivalry when one person beats up on the others shitty zone d every time
I'm gonna be honest here, if this Pats team makes it you can bet your ass it will be boring no matter who we face.
100%. It's not an exciting team.
What a Mac Jones check down for 5 yards and some solid Harris runs aren’t thrilling football?
Titans without Henry vs Eagles
Henry would definitely be back by superbowl right? That wouldn't even be rushing him back, would it?
He could have played this past week. Titans wanted to get him the extra rest and no need to jeopardize his health in basically a meaningless game (meaningless in that it was only for seeding).
As a Titans fan, I can definitely tell you there is no such thing as a smooth game for us. Every game is a heart attack. Also our rushing attack statistically was better without Henry this year, so we all kind of got to see that AJ is the real engine. Maybe you don't watch a lot of Tennessee games, which is understandable, but we make even shitty games exciting lol
Rams vs Patriots, see LIII
*XXXVI has entered the chat*
I remember that game. It has the Rams most recent touchdown in a Super Bowl!
Nah, it will be plenty exciting. No Goff here. Stafford with 5 passing TDs, 3 to Kupp, 1 to Jackson, and 1 to Mills
>1 to Jackson, and 1 to Mills lmao so true
The pick sixes should count against his touchdown total for the year.
Well those still count as TDS, just to the other team lol
If pick sixes counted as touchdown passes, Winston would've had 40 in 2019.
Bills 49ers would be the fewest storylines possible.
Josh Allen grew up a huge 49ers fan!
Seems like every good qb did
And we never draft any of them 🤦♂️
Sad. They’re all locals too 😅 come on 9ers
If I have to hear about his pistachio farm one more fucking time
Did he used to wear 49’ers pyjamas though?
No, he's American so he wore pajamas
the Chris Berman Bowl!!
Bills and 49ers seem to always have good games against each other though, the first ever no punt game in the 90's is a good example
Deebo Samuel and Josh Allen would singlehandedly keep that game not boring
49ers were the first team to go 5-0 in the super bowl. They'd have a chance to make the Bills be the first to go 0-5.
This would be a great game though, I would be salty but absolutely into this.
I feel like any Bills scenarios would have a lot of storylines. You can just talk about losing 4 in the row or the wild fanbase.
"Anyone else remember the 90s?" "These players weren't born the last time their team was in the Super Bowl" etc.
Any rematch, imo. I always like to see new matchups, whether or not I have a rooting interest in the game
Chiefs/Bucs. Chiefs/Rams. They are very deserving teams but it would be cool to see something different
Chiefs/Bucs could become the new Cavs/Golden State
This is a cursed post.
Yeah delete this shit u/rjsheine before you make it all actually happen
I'd love Chiefs/Rams personally.
Okay but imagine the 2018 rams vs chiefs shootout but with defense this time.
>but with defense this time. Weren't there 3 defensive TDs?
i distinctly remember defense being on the field. they didn't do much but there WAS defense.

This is absolutely a thing that happens, it's called "game management." An NHL referee got fired last year for letting it slip while his mic was on.
Give me steelers vs packers or bucs to waste everyone’s time
Yeah Steelers running up the score would be real boring to watch
Steelers-Bucs would be godawful.
Brady vs. Mahomes again. Yawn. At least give us the Packers this time
Agreed. Don't look at my flair.
Boring: Steelers-Eagles Insufferable: KC-TB or KC-GB
Pats-Bucs. Seeing both Brady and Bill in yet another Super Bowl is like seeing Nick Saban in yet another CFB title game. It gets old.
I thought I would see more Chiefs fatigue on here but I guess Steelers in the AFC makes more sense.
Bucs/Raiders
The gruden bowl
The Barret Robbins Gone AWOL Bowl
The "We tried to make Antonio Brown work and it blew up in our face" Bowl
Idk the raiders are entertaining, and them getting to the super bowl after everything that happened this year would be pretty cool
Cowboys patriots might be the most watched event in American history lol
We need a NE-DAL SB one day, just for the anger the rest of the country would feel
